Why Oxfordshire? History and Heritage There are over 1,500 listed buildings in Oxford, and the University of Oxford is the oldest in the English-speaking world. Among the alumni are 30 British Prime Ministers, at least 30 international leaders and 50 Nobel Prize winners, and countless scientists, authors and other great minds.
