GABRIEL DE OBARRIO
Gabriel De Obarrio completed high school at Canterbury Prep School(New Milford, Connecticut). He subsequently graduated from Drake University (Des Moines, Iowa) with a double major in Insurance and Marketing, an MBA from Florida International and Top Management (CEO´s) Program from ADEN Business School and Harvard University’s extension school. Gabriel has 30 years’ experience in the Insurance Field and since 1996 has been the CEO of Assicurazioni Generali, S.p.A., Panama Branch. GENERALI is one of the top 5 Insurance Companies in the world and also a Fortune Global 100. In Panama Generali is the leading Multinational Insurance company and also one of the top 5 with operations in all fields of insurance (Life, Health, Property and Casualty). Presently, he is a member of the board of Directors of the Panamanian Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President of APADEA, The Panamanian Association of Insurers (Past President), Director of Junior Achievement Panama, Director of the governmental insurance technical committee; has also been involved as Director and advisor of other associations such as CONEP, APEDE y YPO (Young Presidents Organization), WPO (Worlds Presidents Organization) and more recently, member of the board of a professional soccer organization (Sporting de San Miguelito). In the social area, he has been the past President of Panama’s Union Club and the current Director of Rotary International.
