WELCOME Dear Craft Fair Friends, We are back in Tassie this July in Hobart and we’re looking forward to seeing you all. The fair this year is jam-packed with features – our guest artist is Meredith Scott – a mosaic artist whose designs give this ancient art a very modern twist. There will be new pop-up classes on the floor where you can make cards and jewellery. Or watch the demos in the Christmas in July area. Incredibly creative wearable art costumes will be on show from the Art on Legs competition, this year a showcase of a number of their artists. And for more colour and textile pleasure, the Island Quilts 2014 show is included in the event along with the Best of Australia quilts and the quilts from the AQC Challenge. So get your friends organised now – put the dates in the diary, hire a bus or do whatever you have to do to get there, just don’t miss this once a year craft indulgence! Come along and stock up on new ideas and creative inspiration. See you there,
PS. Pick up your free copy of The Australian Women’s Weekly at the door, while stocks last.
See the latest specialty yarns, including ‘Gail’ from Dairing, Stand F05

GUEST ARTIST MOSAIC ART WEAR IT OR HANG IT Meet our guest artist Meredith Scott at the fair! Meredith creates stunning, contemporary mosaics and jewellery using a vibrant mixture of glass, shells, recycled and found objects. She has designed a variety of sculptures, art and jewellery that were inspired by her natural surroundings, local beaches and waterways. Some of her work has been selected to feature in an upcoming exhibition at Sydney’s Parliament House. Meredith says, “I love to mix glass and experiment with its rich and varied qualities with found and recycled objects. Mosaicing offers me boundless possibilities for expression”. Her subjects include animals, hands, skulls and natural themes – some of which you may find a little quirky!
