A LETTER FROM THE MD We live in a world where the only thing that’s certain is change itself and the 2014 JAA International Jewellery Fair has a number of very positive changes to share.

1. First of all, the fair will be held at our new home for the next three years - Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, Rozelle.

2. This year’s line up of business presentations is the best we have ever put together for one fair, with sessions being conducted by what can only be described as industry heavy weights!

3. Each day there will be something to spark your imagination and inspire you to take your business to a new level. The activities at the fair will prepare you to achieve even better results in today’s market. PLUS! Jimmy DeGroot is travelling from the U.S. to share his passion and enthusiasm in free daily presentations.

4. In a very special feature, the Young Jewellers’ Group will be conducting a ‘bench championship’ challenge each day, making real jewellery LIVE at the fair. You can also buy a ticket to go in the draw to win one of the hand-made pieces. We even have a special announcement that we will be making onsite.

5. There will be so many chances to win at the Fair! Even though it’s not an island, we want everyone to have a little fun with a treasure chest, where you could win every time you make a purchase! Get your ticket from a participating company for your chance to win a booty of products valued at more than $10,000!

6. This year we will also feature the JAA Design Awards and the amazing entries will be on display at the Fair for everyone to enjoy. On the Monday afternoon you can come along to an open session to meet the designers, get their insights and hear their thoughts behind their designs before the awards presentation that night. So have a look at the Fair Preview or go online and review the programme. It has something for everyone - you won’t be disappointed. See you on the floor where a whole new look, business-boosting education programs and an overload of inspiration will abound!

FAIR HIGHLIGHTS WITH SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO AT THE FAIR, YOU’LL BE SPO ILT FOR CHOICE! HERE ARE JUST SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS... NIC CERRONE

WORLD FAMOUS DIAMONDS

Nicola Cerrone is Australia’s leading jewellery designer and Managing Director of Cerrone Jewellers. He has won over 40 National and International jewellery design awards. The most prestigious being a 1998 De Beers Diamonds International Award, known as the ‘Oscars of the jewellery industry’.

Visit the World Famous Diamonds display and see around 40 replicas of famous diamonds. These aren’t your standard replicas, data has been gathered from all over the planet to produce this display.

Nicola Cerrone stands alone amongst his contemporaries in that his designing never loses sight of the ultimate wearer. The client is paramount in every piece of jewellery produced. Nicola Cerrone’s philosophy of design and quality is based on originality and beauty and this is reflective in every collection. Nic Cerrone from Cerrone Jewellery will be presenting on Tuesday at 12noon. His presentation will include a showcase of his diamond bra and a talk on the industry’s future design directions.

Scott Sucher will be at the display to answer any questions. Find out how the Smithsonian unset the Hope diamond for him to take pictures. Hear how he was left all alone in the vault with it, the Blue Heart Diamond and Napoleon’s Necklace. Scott has worked with several museums to get information not available to others. As a result, his replicas are the most accurate out there.

“Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.” – Anon THE JEWELLERS BENCH, PRESENTED BY YOUNG JEWELLERS GROUP The Young Jewellers Group started from humble beginnings and now has hundreds of young jewellers interacting daily via social media on issues including jewellery manufacturing and jewellery apprenticeships. We invite you to attend the daily demonstration at the Jewellers Bench area of the International Jewellery Fair. PLUS each day you will have the chance to win one of the rings hand made during the days demonstrations! Young Jewellers Group professionals Jodi West, James Anson, Petra King, and Seamus O’Grady will be showcasing their proficiency in jewellery design, manufacture and technique exclusively at the fair!

JIMMY DEGROOT Jimmy DeGroot managed a US jewellery store for more than a decade where he tripled sales with almost no staff turnover. Jimmy’s passion is to share his sales and marketing techniques. He has now taken his knowledge worldwide by offering instore consulting and training with a series of “weekly store meeting” videos tailored for your entire team. Jimmy’s sales and management techniques are infectious which is why Jeweller magazine approached him to create a series of training videos specifically for Australian and New Zealand jewellery retailers. Drawing from years and years of jewellery retail experience, Jimmy will show you how to master Customer Delightment and boost your bottom line. Make sure you come along at 1pm daily. BRIDAL AREA Quite often, getting engaged is the first introduction for many people to a jewellery store and the Australian Bridal market is now worth a massive $4.3billion annually*. As a jewellery retailer, are you across the latest fashions and trends in the bridal market? Are you communicating to, and targeting this market effectively? Are you doing everything possible to ensure potential grooms and bride-to-be’s are visiting your store in preparation for the big day? You should be! This year the International Jewellery Fair showcases this season’s hottest jewellery trends for brides and grooms alike. Visit our specialised bridal parades, twice daily, to see bridal jewellery that sells, and what every bride’s dreams are made of! Plus bridal jewellery specialists are on hand to share their experience, tips and tricks to maximise your exposure to this market, fact sheets exclusively available when you attend the parades, and not to mention, a whole lot of fun! *source IBIS report.
