Activity Refund Policy: A full refund will be given for any Resort activity (unless otherwise noted) if cancelled prior to an hour before the activity begins. A 50% refund will be given if cancelled within an hour of an activity. No refund will be given after the activity has begun.
Please remember your SmuggsPass! The SmuggsPass, included in some of our vacation packages, should be worn throughout your stay with us at Smugglers’. Your SmuggsPass allows your family access to non-fee Smugglers’ Notch events, activities and facilities. If you do not have a SmuggsPass included in your vacation package you may be eligible to purchase one at the Guest Service Desk during your stay. Your SmuggsPass must be purchased for the entire length of stay and is $59 per day (+ tax) or $354 (+ tax) for 7 days for everyone staying in your vacation home. NOTE: Fee based activities and facilities such as massage, Artists in the Mountains, Brewster Ridge Disc Golf Course, canoe trips and specialty camps are additional and are not covered by the SmuggsPass. Planned for the same site, the new FunZone will more than double the play space for families by offering two levels yielding 26,000 square feet of high-energy fun . Our guests will enjoy an exciting variety of activities, games and inflatables that will engage a broad range of ages in hours of unique entertainment, adventure and challenge . The old FunZone set the bar for resort family fun when it was unveiled as a flagship family play center in 1999 . SAFETY & EMERGENCIES Smoke Detectors
If your smoke detector goes off due to cooking, steamy showers or burned toast, etc., please DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE D ETECTOR. Call Maintenance at extension 1158 and a technician will be dispatched immediately to repair your detector. These detectors are wired directly into the Fire Department and tampering with them causes a safety problem for the guests in the rest of your building.
In Case of Fire
Most buildings are equipped with interior fire alarm pull stations. When pulled, they will automatically notify the Fire Department. Also, each home is equipped with local smoke detectors for your added protection. Should the fire alarm in your building go off, please evacuate at once and remain outside until the alarm has been silenced. Please do not tamper with the fire alarms or extinguishers.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, pick up a condominium or “house” phone and DIAL 911. Relay all available information including location and patient’s current condition. The following phone numbers assume you are calling from a condominium or “house” phone. If you are dialing from a mobile phone, there is no need to dial 9 before the numbers listed below. Our Drug and Alcohol Policy
Smugglers’ Notch is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our guests. Therefore, it is the policy of Smugglers’ Notch to comply with and support all state and federal laws related to the use and possession of all regulated drugs, as well as the use and possession of alcohol and tobacco products.
Severe Weather Policy
Summer weather can be unpredictable in the mountains. We strive to keep our guests safe at all times. When we have notice of inclement weather such as lightning we sound our severe weather siren and clear all outdoor public areas including waterparks, tents, ball courts and green spaces for 30 minutes after the last observed thunder or lightning. For the safety of you and your family, please be respectful if a Smugglers’ employee asks you to vacate an outdoor space during these times.
Non-Smoking Policy
Guests staying in a home designated as non-smoking must refrain from smoking in and around the home, including the decks. A $250 fee will be assessed to eliminate any smoke damage.
Pet Policy
Pets are prohibited. A $500 fee will be assessed if a pet or evidence of a pet is found in the home. Local boarding information is available at the Guest Service Desk.

Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm - 7:00 am. Please respect your neighbors.

The mountain environment we are located within can create challenges to accessing some of our facilities. Here at Smugglers’, we are working on improving accessibility for our guests and employees. Our Child Protection Plan
Child abuse and neglect occur at all socio-economic levels. Children in need can be helped. The sooner they are identified and approached, the better. Vermont State Law mandates that all children’s program staff and administrators report any incidents of suspected child abuse and/or neglect, whether such incidents may be occurring within or outside the boundaries of Smugglers’ Notch Resort.

Hot River Rock Massage

Enjoy a relaxing Swedish massage followed by a revitalizing Green Mountain coffee body cream scrub to exfoliate and hydrate your skin. You will then be wrapped in warm towels and receive a face, head, neck and foot massage while the powerful effects of the coffee beans have time to brew. 80 minutes – $125
Maple Meltdown
Enjoy a full body massage and a gentle maple sugar scrub to exfoliate and hydrate your skin. You will then be wrapped with hot towels allowing the maple sugar time to melt and absorb. Rum Runners’ Hideaway is a beautiful mountainside reservoir. The swimming area has water depths of 7-12 feet so swimming ability is a must! Enjoy lounging deck space and a 25-foot Aqua Jump with two floating attachments. Canoe and paddleboat rentals: $12/hour, $7/half hour. Note: there is no lifeguard on duty at the children’s wading area. Rustic mountainside changing cabin is available. Not recommended for families with young children. Pedestrian access only. Walk from the Village on Meadowlark Trail (closed Sun. & Fri.) to Curley’s Cutback — a 40 minute wike. Or park at the Madonna/Sterling Base Lodge and follow signs — a 10 minute walk. American Red Cross Swim Lessons
Our instructors are trained and certified by the American Red Cross, so our unique 6-level instructional approach is unlike anything else being offered. Each level includes training in basic water safety and helping others in an emergency, along with swimming skills presented in a logical progression. All sessions are in our heated pools with a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Lessons meet at Mountainside Pool. Offered Mon.-Fri., five consecutive ½-hour sessions. Your child’s fun and learning is our most important job. We have created active, dynamic educational programs that meet the developmental needs of your children. Our groups will venture out in inclement weather, but in the case of severe weather we will offer alternative programming. Please note: If you would like your children to be grouped together, the older child will be expected to join the younger child’s group. How to find your child during the day
The best time to check on your child is at lunch time. Check with your child’s counselor for the specific time and location. The Guest Service Desk and the Meeting House camp staff also have copies of the itineraries for each individual group. Call ext. 1137 from any house phone, 802-644-1137 from your cell phone, or stop by to inquire where the group is at a particular time. Itineraries are available by 11:00 am each day.

Picking up and signing out of camp
All camper registration cards have a check box to indicate parental permission for campers to leave on their own. If “Yes” is circled, we will need to know what time of day this applies to. If “No” is circled, campers may only leave with a parent or designated guardian. Please Note: a valid photo ID is required to pick up campers in our Discovery Dynamos and Trail Blazer programs at the end of the day. All children must be picked up by the designated time the program ends. 11

Participate in our High or Low Ropes challenge course. Tuesday • Learn how to rappel and rock climb at some of Vermont’s beautiful climbing spots. Professional guides from Peak Expeditions will lead rock climbing expeditions to some of the most pristine rock climbing locations around the area. Wednesday • Enjoy a scenic kayaking adventure guided by our experienced counselors and a picnic lunch. Thursday • ArborTrek Treetop Obstacle Course and Climbing Adventure. Awaken your inner Ninja Warrior. Come prepared to climb, swing, balance, jump, zip, and dash through the forest on our Treetop Obstacle Course. Designed for those who like to get physical, the Treetop Obstacle Course blends beautiful views with a variety of elements ranging from easy to extremely challenging, including wobbly bridges, balance beams, rope swings, cargo nets, log swings, and more. Campers must be at least 70 pounds and able to reach up 66" standing flat-footed. Friday • Spend the morning at Notchville Park! Climb Raven’s Roost climbing tower, swing on the Giant Swing, soar high into the sky on our Eurobungy, and swim in the pools at Notchville Park. Additional Summer Fun University Adventures Mountain Explorers Barbecue & Swim Party Tues. 4:30 pm (check-in) Ages 16-17. Come and join us for an evening out at Rum Runners’ reservoir. Along with a delicious barbecue dinner there will be a pre-dinner swim with fun on the Aqua Jump water trampoline. Out of the water there will be games, snacks, and a campfire. We will be listening to and playing music throughout the evening so bring your iPods and any instruments you’d like to jam with. Teens return to the Village between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Don’t miss out on the most fun evening of the week. Register by 12:00 noon on Tuesday to participate. Program may be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. $29 per person. Based on the belief that all teams need to practice, our team building programs make use of a variety of adventure-based, educational tools--group initiative activities, low ropes elements, high ropes courses, and climbing walls--to do just that, help team practice team skills. If you’ve ever dreamed of climbing high into a tree, here’s your chance. Test your daring and skill climbing artificial rock walls, vertical obstacles, or for a more novel challenge, climb high into the canopy of one of the Notch’s stately sugar maples or eastern hemlocks.
TTOC & CA REQUIREMENTS: For participants of good to excellent mobility and strength in good to excellent health. Participants must weigh between 40 and 250 lbs. Participants less than 8 years of age, under 70 lbs, or who cannot reach 66 inches standing flat footed will be limited to the Apple Creek section of the TTOC and CA. All minors must have an adult present at the course. Participants under age 12 must be accompanied on the course by an adult. An adult can accompany one child who is either a) less than 8 years or b) cannot reach 66” standing flatfooted, OR two children who are 8 years or older and can reach 66” standing flat-footed.

Explore the scenic Lamoille River at your leisure. Our guides will shuttle you upriver, launch you with basic paddling instruction if needed, then send you on your way. A canoe can hold up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children whose combined weight does not exceed 150 lbs. People in middle do not paddle. Tandem kayaks hold 2 paddlers only. Ages 13 - 70. Try the latest in water sports! Flyboard beginner lessons, instruction and training are available at Bootleggers’ Basin. Our instructors are Zapata Racing Flyboard Certified. The Flyboard is a PWC (Personal Water Craft) accessory that allows a user to elevate up in the air using water jet propulsion technology. It is by far the most fun you can have on the water!

Llama Trekking v

All ages. Hike and picnic with these gentle, intelligent creatures from the Northern Vermont Llama Company in the woods and trails surrounding Smugglers’ Notch. Llamas transport your picnic of fresh fruit, baked goods, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and beverages. Remember, llamas are pack animals only, you may not ride them. These three-hour treks are fun for all ages but are not stroller accessible. Please come prepared for hiking with sturdy footwear and water. $60 per adult, $35 per child ages 7-12, children 6 & under FREE! One llama trek is included with the Adventure Connection Package. Ages 21 & older. Your first sip of the day starts at Rock Art Brewery. Sample eight of their amazing beers, learn how they are made and enjoy a self-guided tour of the brewery. Next on the tour — Lost Nation Brewery takes inspiration from lesserknown European beer styles. We’ll then travel to Stowe to visit Idletyme Brewing to sample some of their great ale and lager offerings. Your brewery tour ends at the Trapp Family Lodge, home of Von Trapp Brewing. Sample some of their European style lagers and enjoy the great views during your visit. Cost of beer tastings and lunch are left to each individual. With the majestic views of the surrounding forests and valleys, this wike will offer new perspectives on the beauty of Vermont. Meet at the designated sign on the Village Green. All ages. Hike and picnic with these gentle, intelligent creatures from the Northern Vermont Llama Company in the woods and trails surrounding Smugglers’ Notch. Llamas transport your picnic of fresh fruit, baked goods, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and beverages. Remember, llamas are pack animals only, you may not ride them. These three-hour treks are fun for all ages but are not stroller accessible.
