Based out of TREASURES’ our million-dollar, Vermont statelicensed child care center, the Kids’ Connection program for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years includes visits to our playgrounds, a chance to explore nature, arts & crafts, outdoor adventure, games and quiet time indoors. Children are grouped by age and interests with special tailor-made programs for older children — just let us know your children’s interests when making your reservation. To assure a spot for your children, 24-hour advance reservations are recommended for all of TREASURES programs. TREASURES Kids’ Connection programs are available Monday - Friday, September 2 - October 10, plus Columbus Day Weekend, October 11-13, 2014.

Babysitting Services – Caregivers can be arranged in your vacation home for evening and weekend babysitting. Available daily. $10 finder’s fee per babysitter plus $12 per hour first child; $1 per hour, each additional child.

One of our guests’ favorite spots is the FunZone Family Entertainment & Recreation Center, where kids (and adults) of all ages will find something exhilarating to do.

This indoor playland features an arcade, bouncy house, table games, giant slide and obstacle course. Open Thursday - Saturday, September 4 - October 11, plus Sunday, October 12, 2014 on Columbus Day Weekend.

Guided Day Trips Choose from our Made in Vermont Tour, Montreal Day Trip, Brewery Tour, Fly Fishing Trips or Indulgence Tour featuring covered bridges, specialty foods and wine purveyors. Available selected days during the Fall season. Rates vary.

Enjoy a relaxing massage or wrap! We offer Swedish Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Aromatherapy massage techniques. Starting at $55 for a 25-minute session; starting at $80 for a 50-minute session. By appointment.

Golf Experience our two disc golf courses, mini-golf or play a round of golf at several nearby courses including Stowe Country Club and Country Club of Vermont.

3 Mountain Equipment Rentals At Smuggs you can rent strollers, skateboards, backpacks, SegwaysÂŽ, golf carts, various size youth and adult mountain bikes and more. Rates vary with the type of equipment rented.

Mountain Biking — No trip to Vermont would be

complete without at least a little mountain biking. The Smugglers’ Notch region offers some of the best mountain biking in Northern New England with over 160 kilometers of great single track within a short drive. At Smuggs we offer more than 20 kilometers of beginner and intermediate double track as well as more challenging single track trails. Clinics and guided rides are available.

With our convenient rental program, you don’t have to worry about having the right bike. We have a wide array of frame sizes available for adults and children.

Disc Golf

— Play a round of disc golf on our 18-Hole Brewster Ridge Disc Golf Course! $5 per 18-hole round, $8 per day. Like the traditional game of golf, Disc Golf provides recreation, challenge, competition and just plain fun for participants of all ages - from 6 to 106! New to the game?

Try out our introductory nine-hole course, The Village 9.

This is a great way to combine a Fall walk in the woods with a game the whole family can play. Use of The Village 9 course is complimentary to all Smugglers’ Notch guest.

Self-Guided Hikes — Take in the views with a spectacular mountain hike or walk. we’ll provide you with maps and directions for self-guided walks, wikes and hikes.

It’s a great way to blend overall fitness with the exhilarating discovery of Vermont’s finest features — wildlife, wildflowers and scenery that will stop you in your tracks.

Take adventure to new heights!

Zip Line Canopy Tour (2½ - 3 hours) Participants soar down more than 4,500 feet of zip lines, cross bridges high above the forest floor, rappel from trees, and enjoy stunning views of the area. The canopy tour is fully guided and designed for participants of moderate-to-good health from ages 8 to adult, weighing 70-250 lbs.

Treetop Obstacle Course (2½ hours) This self-guided adventure consists of more than 60 elements, combining the thrill of being high above the ground with physical challenges that test a participant’s strength, balance, and agility.

Climbing Adventure Our climbing program blends new belay technology with innovative climbing holds that make tree climbing easy and tree-friendly.

Climbers choose from a variety of routes including our challenging climbing wall, tree climbs, and vertical obstacles.

DID YOU KNOW? The changing colors of Autumn signal that trees are getting ready for Winter. Throughout Spring and Summer, most of the food necessary for a tree’s growth is made in the leaves. This food-making process takes place in the cells containing chlorophyll, which gives leaves their green color. In Fall, partly due to shorter periods of daylight and cooler temperatures, the leaves stop making food.

The chlorophyll breaks down and the green color disappears — red, yellow and orange appear.

The degree of color varies from tree to tree, and from mountain tops to valleys. Only two places in the world have this brilliant foliage — New England and part of Japan. We believe there’s no better place on earth to see nature’s most colorful display than the Green Mountains of Smugglers’ Notch, Vermont!
