I am delighted to welcome you to the Longines Global Champions Tour of Ramatuelle/SaintTropez and another unique destination for our world class show jumping circuit.
It is always a great pleasure to return to the wonderful Mediterranean resort of Ramatuelle/ Saint-Tropez as part of our beautiful series of events along the French Riviera. Our guests and fans can enjoy not only top-level show jumping, but also exquisite hospitality and a taste of the legendary Riviera lifestyle.
Our fans will once again be able to witness magnificent sport with the superstar horses and riders in action for the high stakes LGCT and GCL championship races. Every event on our circuit features fantastic entertainment thanks to breathtaking sport and iconic destinations.

A stone’s throw from the sea, in this spectacular natural setting, the best riders in the world compete in show jumping with all the elegance and panache of the equestrian world. For three
days, Event Director, Denis Monticolo, and his team, work together to welcome an international and local audience, engaging all generations to inspire and educate about this brilliant sport. The town of Ramatuelle, located in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, takes advantage of this event to showcase its assets and invites guests from near and far to discover its vineyards and natural landscapes.
I hope that this tenth edition is a celebration for all, and that this anniversary inaugurates the summer season in Ramatuelle under the best auspices!

The 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour in Ramatuelle / St. Tropez is the perfect setting to showcase the new Mini DolceVita models with exclusive double tour straps. With its discreet profile, classic styling, and aesthetic variations that are at once timely and timeless, this collection exquisitely expresses, in equal parts, Longines’ quiet luxury and elegance.
Available in various sizes and colours, these models are equipped with straps that are designed exclusively by Longines and encircle the wrist in comfort and softness. A subtle reference to the equestrian world so dear to the Swiss watch brand, the holes in the straps are numbered in hot-press printing from 1 to 6, just like the stirrup leathers that, as the name suggests, connect the saddle to the horse’s stirrups.
Presented in a stainless-steel rectangular case measuring 21.50 mm x 29.00 mm and equipped with a high-precision L178 quartz movement, the new Mini DolceVita models are available in six variants as elegant as they are unique. Three versions sport a silvered rectangular Roman dial distinguished by its flinqué decoration. These models are distinguished by a double tour strap in Nappa leather in a choice of colours: black, beige gold with ivory topstitching, or pink. The two latter models are adorned with 38 Top Wesselton diamonds. A further three variants are available with a circular silvered sunblasted Cosmo dial. In an expression of the collection’s contemporary elegance, these models sport Nappa leather straps in a choice of colours: red, orange or green.
This contemporary jewel watch collection has an impressive lineage: it was inspired by a Longines legend created in 1927 and, of course, the original DolceVita collection.

The 2024 Longines Global Champions Tour marks the commencement of the ultimate individual championship visiting 15 destinations worldwide, with an additional bonus event marking the 16th event of the year - the GC Playoffs, this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the first time.
Horses and riders face challenges in technical courses, diverse arenas, and intense competition. Top equine and human talent compete across Asia, Europe, The Americas, and the Middle East, starting in Doha and travelling to prominent locations like Miami Beach, Mexico City, Monaco, Paris, Shanghai, and more
The coveted Longines Global Champions Tour World Champion title, won by Harrie Smolders in 2023, is at stake. A secondary race for glory involves winning a Golden Ticket, qualifying for the Longines Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix at the GC Playoffs in November. Only 15 tickets are available, awarded through victories in LGCT Grand Prix classes at each stage.
The LGCT Grand Prix, a highlight of each event, features jumps set at 1.60m. Riders can choose horses based on suitability for each event, and 40 horse-rider combinations qualify for each LGCT Grand Prix through a 5* class. Points are awarded in the LGCT Grand Prix at each stage throughout the year, contributing to the overall championship ranking, with riders competing for a share in an extensive prize fool. Each rider’s best 8 scores throughout the season count to their points tally.
Each LGCT Grand Prix winner secures a Golden Ticket for the LGCT Super Grand Prix, adding excitement to the 16-leg tour and the quest for the Champion of Champions title in 2024 awarded at the 16th stage.

This GCL season promises excitement with the roster of meticulously selected teams competing in a 15-event championship, with a bonus additional event at the GC Playoffs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the first time.
Team Owners and Managers focus on strategic refinement for a highly charged season, with a format combining Round 1 and Round 2 on the same day with no drop score.
Launched in 2016, the GCL features global teams with at least one U25 per team, fostering young talent. Each tour stop includes two rounds, and combined scores from Round 1 carry into Round 2.
The no-drop-score format simplifies team competition for new audiences. Round 1 is a CSI 5* 1.55m class, and a short break allows strategic changes before the CSI 5* 1.60m Round 2. Teams earn points at every stage throughout the year, leading to the championship Final.
The top four teams post-Final earn a fast track to the GC Playoffs in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the GCL Super Cup Semi-Finals allowing them to skip the knockout Quarter-Finals and keep the horsepower fresh.
Each team can have three riders per event, with two competing in each round.
• Teams carry penalties from Round 1 to determine Round 2 starting order.
The GCL winners of that stage have the fewest combined penalties and quickest Round 2 time.
GC Playoffs feature a Super Cup QuarterFinal, Semi-Final, and Final.
• The winning team after the 3 knockout rounds are crowned GCL Super Cup winners in the ultimate showdown.

All eyes were on Ramatuelle / Saint Tropez as the Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL juggernaut arrived in the French Riviera with the temperature soaring in the leadership races. Before the sporting action got underway, athletes and guests mingled at the beautiful poolside party at the famous Hotel Byblos.
The Mediterranean vibe continued at the show ground of the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show, founded by Athina Onassis, where the luxurious hospitality lounges and chic shopping village guaranteed a stunning lifestyle experience for visitors uniting show jumping and luxury.
The thrilling GCL team showdown saw Georgina Bloomberg’s New York Empire powered by Lugano Diamonds take the honours in spectacular fashion securing valuable ranking points. On form Madrid In Motion took second place with Paris Panthers continuing their strong showing in third.
French fans had plenty to celebrate with Julien Epaillard’s win on Donatello D’Auge in the extremely tight jump off. Christian Kukuk just missed out finishing second with French speed demon Simon Delestre joining the podium party.

Ask any longtime owner in the Global Champions League and they’ll likely tell you: being a good team player is more of an artform than a science.
A host of different personalities need to be assuaged; multiple international show jumping schedules juggled. New horses and riders need to be trained to the unique intricacies of GCL courses, and in some cases, learn their craft on the job. As you can imagine, strong communication and bonds between owners and riders is paramount. Now in her third year as co-owner of the Shanghai Swans team alongside Julia Tops, Alexandra Thornton, and Tess Carmichael, PremiuMares Founder Milena Pappas has learned a thing or two in her time in the owner’s box.
Early this spring, we caught up with Milena to talk about PremiuMares, her favorite Shanghai Swans traditions, and why the lifelong jetsetter is always ready to pack her bags for Saint Tropez.
A number of PremiuMares young horses have grown up and are now having success on national and international stages—what are you looking forward to in 2024?
This is a really interesting year for us as a company, as we are starting to see our younger homebred horses step up to the international level. [*See sidebar.]
Some of the young mares that we bought as foals are now stepping up in national and international arenas. Many of these have also produced some interesting foals and embryos for us, so there is a great deal to look forward to in terms of competition, as well as the breeding. It is so rewarding to see our homebred horses making their debut and leaving their mark in the sport!

The Shanghai Swans once again have a powerhouse line-up with many returning members. Can you talk about the dynamic you’ve established over the past few seasons?
We have been very lucky to have some of the best riders in the world on our team—and this goes for every single one of our riders! Knowing each other and having been on the team before helps with communication and rapport between the riders when making a schedule for who is going to which competition. But also, during the competitions, I often see our riders walking and discussing the courses together, and generally helping one another.
This is also true for the relationship between the riders and the owners. We know the riders very well, we trust them, and we leave decisions regarding the sport to them—which I believe, in turn, is something that they appreciate.
The Swans are a team in every sense of the word. We try to go out for dinner all together at every competition; we like to sit with each other and make jokes. It really feels like an extended equestrian family, and this is what revitalizes and motivates everyone. Having those feelings of trust, support, and understanding already makes us winners.
PremiuMares has worked closely with Pius Schwizer (SUI) for many years. What does it mean to have him back on the Swans this season?
We have been collaborating with Pius for almost 15 years now, and we have a great relationship with him and his wife, Florence. To be able to extend our cooperation with him through the team is very rewarding, not to mention that I get to see him more so we can talk about the horses we have together—which is not always easy! Riders, nowadays, are at competitions around the world constantly.
Pius has a very promising string of horses to choose from this season, which adds flexibility and strength to our team. He is an amazing rider: very competitive, determined, and fast, and he can get on anything and get the job done. He is also a real team player, so to have him back is a real asset!
What does the level of championship experience shared by German powerhouses Daniel Deusser and Christian Ahlmann bring to the Swans’ bench, especially at key moments?
I think you expressed it very accurately: two German powerhouses! Christian and Daniel are incredibly talented and competitive riders with
vast experience both as individuals as well as on teams. They know each other well as friends and as riders; I have seen them many times discussing courses and tactics, and helping each other out with tips.
They have competed all around the world, in the highest-level competitions, under the highest levels of stress, and excelled.
That means that they don’t yield under pressure— to the contrary, they thrive on it!
As team players, they have proven time and again that they put the Swans first, and they both have an incredible sense of humor, which makes them very fun to be around!
What are you most looking forward to about returning to LGCT Ramatuelle / St. Tropez this year?
I often say this, but Saint Tropez is a real experience on every level. You have the top riders and horses in the world, competing in a setting that is unlike anywhere else. It’s a competition of the highest level and a vacation at the same time, so anyone can enjoy it. The VIP area and service are of the highest standards, and the arena is right by the
beach of Ramatuelle, where you can cool off with a swim.
This is the 10th edition of the Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show, and knowing Denis [Monticolo] and Sara [Tanganelli], it will be an event to remember! I cannot wait to ride, dance to the rhythms of the DJ, have some nice rosé, and just enjoy an amazing three days—surrounded by friends and our Shanghai Swans family—in a setting unlike any other.

The Longines Athina Onassis Horse Show VIP lounge offers a wide range of all-inclusive, international dining options inspired by the freshest Mediterranean, French, and Italian cuisine.
