MISSION The mission of the “State of Hip-Hop,” power summit is to open up lines of communication, career awareness, networking, and reviving the hip-hop culture. Participants in this event will include: Major label A&R’s, unsigned artists, independent record labels, publishers, managers, image & brand consultants, film makers, producers, Internet companies, distributors, booking agents, retailers, lawyers, songwriters, models, DJ’s, and media/press.

The “State of Hip-Hop,” summit is the being produced by a conglomerate of music experts such as 50 Cent, Kal Dawson, Freeway Rick Ross, Ashanti, Capone, N.O.R.E, TY Sacks, Spinderalla, Professor Griff, Chuck D, Ed Lover, Mc Lyte, and a list of other esteemed artists (TBD). The “State of Hip-Hop,” summit will be an annual college affair bringing, some of the music industry’s most influential decision makers to college campuses; to share their music business expertise with the attendees. The “State of Hip-Hop,” summit is prepared to be the most vital music forum in America. It is the only summit that focuses on the role of the, community, media, and industry professions. The summit’s programming includes the following: panel discussion, workshops, and demo listening sessions address the important issues affecting the music industry today.


The “State of Hip-Hop,” Power Summit will combine the elements of round-table discussion, an informational workshop, and an entertainment showcase into one lively event. It also provides an invaluable talent search resource to the music industry professionals. The attendees will have an opportunity to network with A&R representatives from the hottest urban labels to discuss the best avenues for artists to further their career. Hip-Hop veterans are preparing to address the “State of Hip-Hop in America,” in a roundtable discussion in conjunction with an artist(s) showcase. Slated to take place at participating college(s) the free gathering will operate under the theme “Restore, Revive, Rebuild and Refocusing” and with a strong emphasis on community. A pair of panel discussions will spotlight hip-hop’s economic and political impact. Other participants include the members of the New York based management company directed by the former President of Murder Inc. who will be joined by a list of A-List recording artists and industry executives. The summit will coincide with a music industry showcase hosted by industry executives, record labels, and (local) radio personalities. In conjunction, for the purpose of awareness attendees will hear from parents who have lost a child or children to senseless violence.
