Message from our

WFF World President Dear members of the WFF Family, It is amazing to think we are now at the beginning of our 2018 season “A” Qualifying events. I believe that this is a good time to reflect, to take stock, to celebrate, and to plan. It is a good time to do these things because there is still time. Time to build on our successes and time to make amends for our failures. Time to think about where we have been, where we are, where we are headed and how we are going to get there.

There have been many moments throughout past events including SPOEX Korea, Kahma Classic, Ms Galaxy, ACTIFIT Singapore and our 2018 Commonwealth Classic Brisbane when I have been inspired and energized by so many athletes, coaches and patrons of our WFF community. Sponsors who show such generosity, athletes who respect each other in simple acts of friendship through their support on and off stage or more public displays of affection and admiration to their coaches and supporters at our events. Promoters who are committed so intensely to the running of a Professional and entertaining show, that they forego their own financial and recreation time to provide extra care and support to our WFF athletes. Patrons and volunteers who give generously and selflessly of their time and talent knowing that their involvement in the life of the WFF family brings great benefit to them and the whole WFF experience. The mantra of equity and inclusivity, of respect and dignity, manifests itself in many ways in the potential life changing experience felt by so many. The transparent nature of our events means that men and women are all welcomed here without concern for their sporting or academic attributes or artistic abilities. We also believe that financial circumstances should not be an impediment to participation. To this end

we offer a comprehensive, inclusive and dignified WFF Professional Classes that encourage travel to International events including European Championships June 23rd Germany and WFF PRO-AM Universe July 1st in Singapore . We are a proud community that has implications for the breadth of pathways and programs offered in our events… It also strongly influences the learning environment through our World Fitness Academy under the watchful eye of 4 x World Aerobics Champion Ms Sue Stanley. For students this means a strong emphasis on differentiation, formative assessment and a broad range of global practical placement. This year the number of PRO-AM Events has exploded to more than 20 covering every continent with the latest being our 2018 WFF PRO-AM Asia Pacific to be held in Suzhou, Jiangsu China on Sunday November 25th. This will be the first of many new and exciting travel opportunities for those who wish to join us on the Muscle Tour. Kind regards, Graeme Lancefield WFF World President M +61 408 350 983 info@wff-international.com www.worldfitnessacademy.com www.wff-international.com

Pro Director WFF INTERNATIONAL

Following a number of queries regarding the suitability of WFF Pro competitors taking part in amateur competitions in other organisations, we wish to clarify the WFF international position on awarding WFF Pro status, and the rights and responsibilities of competitors who accept WFF Pro Status. Becoming a professional in any sport or chosen field should be seen as a privilege.

This month’s Pro Director column focuses on the conditions required for amateur athletes to achieve a WFF ProCard and to be recognised as WFF professional athletes. There are 7 categories where athletes may be eligible to achieve professional status – Men’s bodybuilding, Women’s Figure, Women’s Aerobics, Women’s bikini, Men’s Bermuda, Men’s Sports model and Women’s Sports model. ProCards can only be awarded at sanctioned WFF International Pro-Am events. Local WFF amateur events that are not International Pro-Ams, do not attract ProCards. Attached is the guideline around the selection process, qualification and nomination for WFF ProCards. This document is located online at http://www.wff-international. com/documents/World Fitness Federation International Ltd - By-Law 1 Professional Division Regulations 24Jan17.pdf Please refer to the following conditions in the professional division regulations: 2. Competitions (f). Classes where Pro Cards may be awarded, must comprise no fewer than three competitors, or any case as determined by WFF International from time to time. In it’s discretion, WFF may determine not

to award a Pro Card if competitors are deemed below the required minimum standard for International competition. The only 2 international officials that can determine the minimum standard professional requirements for competition are the WFF World President and the WFF Pro Director. Classes may also be combined if the class numbers are less than 3 and the competitors are considered of suitable professional standard. The combining of classes and subsequent awarding of ProCards is at the discretion of the World President and the Pro Director. ProCards will be announced at the time of the combined classes once all athletes are assessed providing one or more of the athletes are deemed to be of suitable professional standard. The decision to combine classes and award a ProCard is not an automatic default and is at the sole discretion of the WFF President and, or, the WFF Pro Director. Athletes are also reminded that once men turn 50 and women turn 45 years of age they, are not eligible to hold WFF PRO status. Blair Loveday Pro-Director WFF International.

Ms Galaxy Pro/ Am 2018 It was a night filled with Glitz and Glamour as the ladies of the WFF brought finesse, elegance, muscle artistry and energy to the Ms Galaxy PRO/AM Stage. Two Figure (Emma Mellows, Bree Grima), three Bikini (Jaimee-RennieIrvine, Mayura Singlee Seagrave, Marina Calogero) & two Sportsmodels (Michelle Covington, Kymberly Birchenough) were awarded their PRO Cards and with it a chance to compete and win the trip overseas to the Ms Universe in Singapore. However their promotion into the PRO rank division was challenged by the great polished physiques and stage presence of our existing PRO’s, who were too strong this time. The coveted Overall Ms Galaxy PRO Champions and Ms Universe bound athletes were Lee-Anne Ammitzboll (Figure), Maddy Bush (Bikini) & Tammy Balfour (Sportsmodel). If that wasn’t enough excitement, the event also unveiled some of our best amateur stars, with Marie Lijja (Figure) & Alyssa

Herning (Bikini) victorious in the Ms Galaxy Amateur overall division after some exciting divisional battles with so many well-prepared athletes/ models. Overall it was a day full of FUN and excitement with our NSW&ACT promotional team extending our appreciation to all the athletes/models, trainers, family, friends and support staff for contributing to such a successful event. Until next year, we wish everyone the best of luck in the big Season A & B calendar of shows and we look forward to unveiling some more superstars. Note: NSW&ACT Season A & B remaining events include the Newcastle Night of Champions on 29 April, Sydney Grand Classic 27 May, Canberra Classic 9 September & NSW Titles 16 September. Interview with

Branko Tedorovic By Daniel Lancefield

Photo by: Kristin Curtis Asher-Jaxon Inc.

My main goal was winning World Championships in Cyprus.

1. How long have you been training? How has your training changed over the years? Hello Daniel. First, I would like to thank you and Danny for this great opportunity. It is my great pleasure and honor to be recognized as WFF Pro Athlete. I started training seriously after college. During my college days, I was the captain of Idaho State University’s Track & Field Team and also a member of Serbian National Team. Unfortunately, I had a career ending back injury my Junior year that prevented me from pursuing track career on a higher level after college. After a year of physical therapy I was able to start working with light weights mainly to straighten my lower back. Slowly, my strength was coming back and I was able to gradually increase the intensity. Few years later, I felt ready for serious training and since I have been a competitor my entire life, I decided to give it a shot in fitness. I believe that over the years, I have learned to train smarter. I love to push heavy weights but more importantly, I have been focusing on tempo, angling and execution of the exercises. 2. What first got you interested in competing? How do you stay motivated throughout the year? After my physical therapy was over, I joined a gym and it didn’t take long before I met a few local guys who were competing. Being

Beach Body Couture an athlete my entire life, it wasn’t hard for them to talk me into competing. I started training seriously for competition early 2011 and by November of the same year I was on the stage for the first time. I live in New York where I train selected group of clients. I am fortunate that I am absolutely in love with what I do so I don’t actually consider it work. I never lack motivation since this is my way of life. I breathe fitness every day and can never get enough of it. I love being on stage but I enjoy training even more. I have found myself in motivating others, in passing my knowledge and experience off to them. With every breath I take, I strive to perfect what I do in order to be the best version of myself. But that pursuit means nothing if it haven’t inspired and motivated someone else to do the same. – something I wrote and something I truly believe and live by, hopefully you can use it for the article 3. We’ve seen you moving some very heavy weight online, so you’re obviously no stranger to training very hard. How does your training change in the offseason compared to the on season? I believe in Targeted Density

Expozure May Issue - 2018

Training. My competing background comes from Body Classic (ratio between height & weight) so over the years, I had to figure out how to get better at virtually same body weight. I figured that if I can increase density, my muscles will appear superior in quality because I would develop more muscle fiber per area. In order to do that, during prep, I had to increase weights while slowly decreasing body weight. I believe that over the years I have made significant improvements in strength. For example, at around 225lbs of body weight I can Barbell Incline 500lbs several times, Flat Bench Press 150lbs Dumbbells 10 times etc. On or Off Season I move heavy weights, however I do spend a lot of time doing “shaping” exercises. So, I complete 2-3 extra heavy working sets per body part (in order to concentrate as much blood as possible into the area). Once the blood is there, muscle is ready for “shaping”. Here is a sample my chest workout: 1) Reverse Peck Deck Flies 4x 2016-12-10 Superset with Single Arm DB Reverse Flies 3x 10 (Rear Shoulder Focus and Warm Up) 2) Incline Barbell Press Warm Up: 1x20 135lbs 1x12 225lbs 1x10 315lbs Working Sets: 1x8 375lbs 1x5 450lbs 3) DB Flat Bench Press with a Twist 3x 10 100-120lbs

4) Cable Flies with Different Assignments (1/2 Rep – Full Rep or High Rep –Mid Rep – Low Rep) 3x12 5) Cable Narrow Raises 3x12 Superset with Standing Plate Press 3x10 (Slow & Concentrated) 6) Chest Triplet: A) Cable Mid Crossovers 12x B) Cable Parallel Crossover 12x C) Elevated Push Ups 20+ 4. Last year in Cyprus it was very clear that you set a new standard for the WFF Pro Beach Model class.

What’ve you got planned for 2018 and beyond? I started 2017 (my first WFF Season) at WFF Balkan Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. I competed in Super Body Category and Won the Overall and WFF Pro Card. My main goal was winning World Championships in Cyprus. Part of the reason why I love WFF is because it stayed true to aesthetics. Easier said than done in today’s world where our sport is mainly based on size and where true values of our bodybuilding have been somewhat forgotten. I always strived to build the most aesthetically pleasing physique that fits my frame. I have truly found myself in Beach Model

that the audiences definitely find appealing. With increased number of pro competitors, the quality of competition will increase which will yield better sponsorship opportunities for the athletes and greater purse prize money.

Photo by: Andrey Kopylov (taken few weeks before Worlds in Cyprus)

Post season I like to go home to Belgrade, Serbia and enjoy our national cuisine for few days.

Category. I have a vision of how I would like to look going forward and I work daily on pursuing that goal. I will start 2018 at WFF Balkan Championships in Mostar, Bosnia where I will appear as a guest. Time to meet with friends, share experiences and promote WFF in Balkan Countries. Pro European Championships will be next in Germany on June 23rd. I am planning to start the second part of the season at WFF World Cup in Montenegro where I will also be a guest. My main goal will be to defend my title at Worlds in Huntington Beach, CA on November 4th. I am very excited that Worlds will be on my home turf. I believe that Lauren Powers will put on a great show and really can’t wait for this historic event. I will close the season with my friend Diego Andrade (WFF Ecuador President) in Ecuador on December 1st at Rocoso Classic. Going forward, I would like to see Pro Beach Model Division growing. It is a very attractive, marketable look

5. How does bodybuilding in Europe compare to the USA? Where is your favourite place to compete in the world? The biggest difference is that WFF shows are ran for the athletes while in the US, IFBB / NPC athletes are basically customers of people who run NPC shows. Steep entry fees, unpleasant ushers, extremely high prices for (mandatory) spray tans, “coaches” that need to be hired to take the athlete to IFBB Pro card (for costs north of $5,000 for 12 week online diet plan and weekly follow up email)… not to mention that the entire national NPC judging criteria comes from one place (gym) in Syosset, NY… WFF is a family where we form friendships across the globe. Athletes help each other, share training tips…I will never forget the comradery that I experienced in Cyprus. Show ran very late (after midnight) and Beach Model Category was the very last event. We shared food and water, made sure that everyone was doing ok, shared pump up bands, pushed each other to make it until stage time deeply depleted and dehydrated. That is a true value of WFF. Shows organized by WFF Serbia (lead by our President Aleksandra Milosevic) are a spectacle of its own. With Aleksandra’s

Expozure May Issue - 2018

leadership, the numbers of athletes from the Balkans keep on increasing. We have added several new member countries and the organization of Balkan Championships is being rotated among member countries. We are definitely one big family and I hope that you and Danny will make it to one of the events in the region and of course to the after party. 6. Tell us a bit about your contest prep. Do you do a traditional 20 week diet? And, after a competition what’s your favourite meal? To be honest, I live “in prep mode” the entire year. I carb load once or twice per week during training months and once during contest prep. For me, it’s the way of living where I constantly work on perfecting what I do. I do a lot of modeling too so keeping in good shape thru ought the year is somewhat mandatory. I basically “tighten up” my diet when necessary. I never take longer than 8-10 weeks to prepare for contest. Actually, I am always ready ahead of schedule which allows me to fine tune for the competition. Post season I like to go home to Belgrade, Serbia and enjoy our national cuisine for few days. It’s simply just my mom’s cooking: Sarma (stuffed cabbage leaves), corn bread, prosciutto type dried meat, selection of cheese and of course well know Serbian “Rostilj” (mixed grilled meat).

7. What are your plans this year with competing and where do you see your aim in the next 1-2 years time? In 2018, my main goal is to defend my Pro World Title that I won in Cyprus. Since the World Championships are in the US, I would like to promote WFF in New York City. Gennaro Ferra, NABBA Mr. Australia from the 90s and I actually train at the same gym on 19th Street. We are already making plans to compete in California together and also to bring several other competitors from New York with us. Interestingly enough, we are all from different countries but we train together and will form NYC group that will go to Worlds. This is another great aspect of WFF: we are all athletes of the same family! Going forward, I will be as active with promoting WFF in Balkan countries. It is not about WFF Serbia, all of us from the region work together. Aleksandra Milosevic has gathered some amazing people and under her leadership we are experiencing great expansion of WFF in the region. Danijela Vukovic is doing phenomenal job with digital media, building presentations for WFF members across the globe. We (the athletes) get the spotlight on the stage, in media...but I would like to use this opportunity to thank all of those team members who work behind the scenes, since without them and their work, we wouldn’t be nearly as successful or recognized.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT

IS IT GEARED FOR SUCCESS OR FAILURE? By Cheryl Leigh If you want to achieve success, surround yourself with success and eliminate all possible negatives and any temptations. What surrounds you should make it EASIER for you to achieve your goals and not HARDER. Brain Wansinks, a food psychologist, explores fascinating environmental hazards that impact our habitual eating patterns in his book ‘Mindless Eating’. His research concludes that the reason we overeat often has more to do with our environment rather than our actual hunger. As an example, if you have a small bowl on chocolates on your desk you will eat twice as much then if the bowl of chocolate was on the filing cabinet on the other side of the room. If you use a big spoon you eat more than using a small spoon. You will dish up less from a buffet if you have a smaller salad plate instead of a dinner plate. If you are eating chicken wings and someone removes the bones, you don’t realise how much you have eaten and keep on eating. Study after study, Wansinks concluded that “out of sight, out of mind” was actually true. The less visible and convenient junk food was, the less people thought about it and were tempted. Its an undeniable reality that if you see that half eaten double choc cheesecake every time that you open the fridge, you are setting yourself up to fail. We have to be tempted before we fall off the wagon and less

opportunities for temptation result in greater compliance. It really is a no brainer. Make sure your desk at work and your benches at home are tidy and junk-food free. People whom have snacks in or on their desk reported on average weighing seven kilos more than those who did not. Pre-cut fruit and vegetables placed on the middle shelf in the fridge are ten times more likely to be eaten. Create an environment where it

becomes an autonomous decision to make good food choices. Committing to this will combat the need to rely upon willpower and motivation and it will help prevent temptation. Taking this approach makes it easier to achieve your goals and more compliant with your nutrition. Put your alarm clock on the other side of the room. Remove or hide junk food from your pantry and fridge, prepare all your daily meals so that when you are hungry or on the run. Fail to prepare your meals is preparing to fail. Make sure that you have your food ready to go. Commit to this and you will never become hungry and make poor choices like MacDonald’s. Place motivational quotes and images on your screensavers or fridge, use motivation boards, hang you sports gear up where you can see it, your sandshoes by the front door, keep you gym bag on hand and ready to go. Take this strategy seriously and commit to your behaviours as comp prep can challenge the very best of us. Surround yourself with an environment geared for success, as what you see has a huge influence on how you think, act and what you do.

The above is a snippet from my motivation and mindset e-book, “The Unbeatable Mind”, 50 of my most powerful strategies to achieve greater focus, discipline and success. https://www.procompteam.com/e-books

Commonwealth Classic Pro-am results

ProComp international was delighted with the Commonwealth Classic held in Brisbane on the 22nd of April. We had 140 very good quality athletes on stage, the Chandler Theatre and staff was exceptional and it really was a world-class production. With the support and latitude granted by our world president, Mr Graeme Lancefield, we tried a number of different things with the show and they were received with unanimous success from the athletes, administrators and audience alike. ProComp’s main focus as promoters was to ensure a good experience for athletes and officials. Every service was available to athletes online from registration, hair and make up, photographic and video services and the official event hotel accommodation. A shuttle service was also available for athletes and officials between the hotel and the venue every hour from 5.30am to 7pm.

We also introduced a professional athlete press conference that was live streamed and designed to promote WFF International’s outstanding professional athletes. We would like to thank our professional athletes as athletes supported the initiatives and conducted themselves, as you would expect of professionals. Our professional athletes also all appeared on stage together at the conclusion of the bodybuilding and models show and the images captured by the WFF International photographer, Mr Danny D’Mello were simply outstanding and showcased WFF International and the Professional divisions. The quality of the amateurs was very good with one ProCard being accepted by Perry Tzoumanis who’s conditioning and presentation was outstanding and certainly worthy of his professional status. The professional line ups were world class with Le-Anne Ashton Ammitzboll’s conditioning providing a win in figure, Oskar Sarkan’s incredible size, dryness and conditioning giving him 1st place in bodybuilding, Maddy Bush’s improved conditioning from the Kahma Classic paying dividends in a very competitive bikini class, Jarvis Murian taking out 1st place in Male Sports model and the category of the day, Women’s Sports model presenting the best quality international line up ever on Australian soil with Teanna Born taking the honours closely followed by Sarah O’Connor and Tammy Balfour. ProComp would like to thank all sponsors, athletes, officials, WFF executives and contracted suppliers for making the Commonwealth Classic such a wonderful success.

2017 & 2018 WFF NEWCASTLE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS A great day was had as Hunters finest jumped onstage for the Newcastle Night of Champions. Some outstanding BodybuildingFigure-Bikini-Sports & Beach Models were uncovered and joined some of our past quality athletes onstage as they vied for the honour of Newcastle’s finest. It all started with the NABBA divisions where one of our past Champions Greg Bessant displayed a quality physique with size and detail to win the Masters division. This was followed by the Open Class division where Anthony Flammia, a new Class 2 bodybuilder to our NABBA stage did battle and succeed against some of the new up and coming breed of muscle champions. In doing so, Anthony also won the Overall honour as he battled it out against Paul Xydis (Class 1), Jake Gutter (Class 4), Greg Bessant (Masters)

2018 NABBA/WFF NEWCASTLE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS DATE: 29 APRIL, 2018

VENUE: WESTS CITY, NEWCASTLE WEST & Anthony Barbanera (Juniors). The WFF bodybuilding saw an extremely tight battle of new Muscle rocking the stage with some of the nicest lines, condition and muscle quality on presentation. This quality carries on the great standard of muscle that the WFF has been recognised for. The overall honour for this year went to Ryan Lindsay who competed onstage for the first time but brought with him granite like physique with dryness and vascularity, He contested the overalls with Greg Chapman (Fitness Men), Muhamid Sahid (Performance Men) & Matthew Dickman (Superbody Men). The WFF Ms Figure overall Champion was a little pocket dynamo in Amber-Rose Vernon who has beauty and muscle rolled into one. A great future prospect who will now represent her country overseas in Singapore for the big prize of the Ms Universe Junior. The Bikini Division showcased continued quality with Angelica Clark winning the Overall after taking out her short class

division against some strong competition who all brought so much energy as a group to the stage. Other champions to mention from the day included Alexandra Grey (Beginners), Erin McGovern (Novice), Lauren Lynch (O’30’s) and Rebecca O’Donohue (Sportsmodel Junior). The Men’s Beach Model brought together some lean, classic looking physiques with Tyler Baxter (Short) taking out Overall honours against the likes of Will Nichol (Beginners), and Lachlan Ellis (Tall). The 3 champions, including Andrew Norris (Sportmodel Overall Champion) have the potential to make inroads into the division in future years. 2018 NABBA/WFf Southern Hemisphere Championships In 1893, Florenz Ziegfeld started the modern mania for muscles with a German strongman he called “Sandow the Magnificent” men and women posing semi-naked hardly seem revolutionary today, but in those early years, for the first time since the fall of the Roman Empire, attractive young men and now women pose purely to be admired and appreciated. The National Amateur Body-builders’ Association or NABBA, as it is known throughout the world was formed in London in 1950, NABBA has promoted the Mr Universe contest every year in England with notable champions such as Steve Reeves, Reg Park, Bill Pearl plus of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger Professional Mr Universe winner 1968-69-70 In 1968 the World Fitness Federation WFF was established in Germany to balance the general public’s need of a recreational lifestyle choice inclusive of good health thru Sport and Fitness. The World Fitness Academy is our global accreditation and educational system. In 1984 to accommodate the growth and popularity of competitive bodybuilding, NABBA voted to form a worldwide governing organisation, known as NABBA International, to maintain formal relations with all member countries outside of the historical founders and council of the United Kingdom. The first Mr Australia dates back to 1947 and in 1999 the current Australian & WFF World President, (NABBA International President 2009 -2017) Mr Graeme Lancefield affiliated both organizations to create NABBA/WFF Australia.

Following the recent success of the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast this year marks the 51st anniversary of our Southern Hemisphere Bodybuilding Figure and Fitness Championships to be held on Saturday June 9th at the Southport RSL Club on the Gold Coast Queensland. The top three in every category qualify to join our Australian teams travelling to three International destinations for either the NABBA World Championships in Italy, WFF European Championships in Germany or the Legendary Universe title in Singapore The first Mr Southern Hemisphere title was awarded in 1967 to Les Spendlove a former Mr Australia and NABBA Mr Universe finalist. We are extremely proud of this year’s Southern Hemisphere promoter Mr Oskar Sarkans who is himself a Professional bodybuilder and winner of the recent 2018 Commonwealth Classic Title. We look forward to seeing everyone at the Southport RSL Club on Saturday June 9th show starts at 10.00am for Tickets or more information contact Oskar Sarkans on Mobile 0400 995 499 or Email: nabbawffqld@gmail.com Yours sincerely,

There’s an app for that! By Katelyn Seary

There literally is an app for everything these days. How likely are you to actually search for one though? In this age of technology the problem isn’t finding the information we need. The problem is having access to TOO MUCH information. It’s overwhelming what we have access to at the end of our fingertips all within seconds. We are constantly plugged in to the cyber world without focusing on what and who is physically around us. It causes stress levels to increase. Stress raises cortisol hormone levels, negatively impacts sleep and hinders results. That’s the last thing we need in our life! To help you clear the clutter of

searching……because seriously, who has spare time these days……..Here are 2 apps you can down load to help with mindset and stress levels. One app is called HEADSPACE: Guided Meditation. This is a great app for those who need to learn to be more in the moment and not fretting over something that hasn’t even happened yet. As a beginner the meditation tracks are only 3mins. You can choose from a variety of topics to work on such as: Sleeping better, being less stressed, being more focused, managing anxiety, and finding calm. If short mindfulness meditation isn’t your thing, the other app I’d recommend is Deep Breath- Destress for the Day. This app lets you schedule a reminder to take a break and literally just breathe.

When we get really busy and caught up with things at work it’s easy to be unaware that we are actually holding our breath or only shallow breathing while thoughts race over the millions of other things that “need to be done”. Comp prep and post comp causes our mind to play tricks on us. Sometimes it feels as if our mind simply just isn’t functioning. We become forgetful, irritable, emotional, tired, and so focused on what we have to do to succeed. Depending on how you prep this could be the result of a lack of carbs or extra cardio (just kidding). I’ve found that the “losing your mind” feeling, anxiety, self-doubt, or worry is simply a message on repeat saying to SLOW DOWN. Take some time out for yourself to simply be you. Sit quietly. Take a few moments to inhale the miracle called oxygen. I bet you find it challenging to do this. Yet, if you’re able to do it at least 2xs a week I bet you feel more in control and relaxed.

The Melbourne International Championships The Melbourne International Championships was born at the old Camberwell Civic Centre twelve years ago. From humble beginnings it has grown to be one of the centrepiece events of the annual calendar.

Boasting an array of past champions who have gone on to challenge for World and Universe titles at the highest level, this is one event that serious competitors will not want to miss.

Novice and First Timers should also look at this event as a stepping stone to bigger things with many current Pro competitors having made their entry to the stage at this show. This promises to be a show with something for everyone. All competitors will qualify to travel with Team Australia to Italy, Germany and Singapore, while the Overall Bodybuilding, Figure, Women’s and Men Sports Model, Beach Model, and Bikini Model Champions will each receive a return flight overseas to represent Australia on the international stage.

Mike Gustavsson USA, WFF Mr Universe Age 56. Born and raised in Sweden. Started to workout after my dad sent after on mail order a yar of liver tablets and a Bull worker to train with at home at age 8 or 9. Got really hooked in 1975 when I watched a British documentary about bodybuilding, it was with Bill Richardson and other Nabba guys. Much later in life I met him in Belgium were he lived and had a gym. Early influences was Robby Robinson. Mike Sable. Doug Brigole. Rickard Baldwin. Serge Nubret and Sergio Olivia. Started at a gym were it was mostly Olympic lifters and Power lifters 1975. In my town it was one man who had compared in BB before and I said to myself I’m next. 1979 I did my first show. Has competed in the 70th. 80th. 90. 2000. And now in the 2020----. That’s 5 decades of iron. Ironically I had a dream at early age to live in the United states and to compete in the Mr Universe but everyone said....no way. I proved them wrong. I moved from Sweden all over the world to about 6 countries before I came to the United states of America. I’m now an dual citizen of USA and Sweden since 9 years and I did compete in the universe and won it 2017! My dream became reality because of Bodybuilding. I make a living of bodybuilding as a trainer fulltime. Helping others and i will bring 2 hopefully 3 athletes to the WFF Mr world in California 2018. My own trunks are on the shelf. It could be a comeback in a few years you never know. My WFF experience is not long as a competitor. I did study WFF online since many years and had my favourites in the masters like Ronny Moore and Wayne Wilson that I had the opportunity to meet at my first show the 2015 Mr world in south Africa were I placed 5th. 2016 I did the universe in Orlando and placed 3rd and 2017 I won the title in Brazil. I knew about the president Graeme Lancefield since many years back from my friend Dennis James so once I met him I felt that I already knew him. The same goes with the whole WFF head federation from Australia including you Danny. Am I retired for sure? You never know because each time I help a client I get that tingling in me.....

Meet the

President Kemalsyah Nasution

Coming from being bodybuilding athlete my self, I realized that sports in Indonesia, especially in my sport field are hardly supported. And seeing other athletes experiencing the same treatment until this day, really pushed me to do something about it and to try to bring these athletes to the right path and to have a better future as athletes. That is why I called upon other athletes with similar experiences and vision and managed to declare PERBAFI organization on 15th of December 2015, which stands for “Persatuan Binaraga & Fisik Indonesia” which means “United Bodybuilding & Physique of Indonesia”. So basically PERBAFI is made by athletes for athletes, to help all the athletes of bodybuilding and physique in Indonesia accomplish more and become something better, something bigger, to become champions. Also note that PERBAFI also seeks for young and

new potential athletes and encourages people to live healthy and to look forward towards their goals in sportsmanship, especially in bodybuilding and fitness. Not long after declaration, PERBAFI joined WFF International on 23rd December 2015. Now, If asked why WFF?... It’s because we saw WFF International has model and many other categories which are most suitable for Indonesian anatomical proportions and character, so it’s the best path for Indonesian athletes to expand, accomplish more and become champions not only in local zones but also on International stages. That’s why we use the slogan “Path for Champions” on our posters. Localy PERBAFI already organized many competitions such as Perbafi Challenge which is provincial competition to find athletes to compete on next stage such as Perbafi Series which is more national

stage and also we have Kemal Trophy Championships where athletes compete to move one to International events. And hopefully one day we will have a chance to organize an International event here in Indonesia. So, it’s been more then two years since PERBAFI joined with WFF and became the representative in Indonesia, and we already brought athletes to international events. Some of successful athletes we are proud of like Dody Syahputra, Shania Anjari , Rahmat Wijaya, Rossana Dewi, Flo Carolina, Ary Wijaya and Yogi Amirudin Azis, really made a break through at the international events such as Muscle War and Mortal Battle in Singapore, also Asia Pacific Championships in Australia and New Zealand even already participated in Mr.Universe in England and WFF World in Ireland. And of course we will bring more great athletes to compete in the future.
