‘The first outdoor sofa’. A daring statement, but this really is the next big thing. Since the birth of Extremis, we have been convinced that the difference between indoors and outdoors will disappear. Our gardens are becoming one of our most important living spaces. Allow us to argue that it is mostly a time-consuming chore to drag cushions, especially with our unpredictable Belgian weather. Water-resistant cushions quickly become dirty and grubby and, above all, they do not feel soft. Extremis had already been looking for a solution to this for a

In 1994 liet Dirk Wynants zich door Rabelais inspireren bij het ontwerp van de iconische tuintafel Gargantua: een sterk en duurzaam meubelstuk waaraan mensen samen kunnen genieten van goed weer, goede maaltijden en goede gesprekken. ‘Samen met Gargantua ontstond Extremis, Dirk Wynants’ designbedrijf. Nu, precies twintig jaar later, viert Wynants deze verjaardag met het ontwerp Pantagruel. Een aardje naar zijn vaartje. Pantagruel is robuust, elegant en sober. Het tafelblad met lazy Susan, draaischijf voor lekkernijen, brengt mensen van alle leeftijden samen en maakt het hen gemakkelijk. Een tool for togetherness, gerief voor gezelligheid, dat men kan doorgeven aan de volgende generaties, inclusief de goede herinneringen.

En 1994, Dirk Wynants s’est inspiré du personnage de Rabelais pour la création de Gargantua, sa célèbre table de jardin : un meuble solide et durable qui permet, dès les beaux jours, de partager de délicieux repas ou d’agréables moments en famille ou entre amis. La table Gargantua fut le premier produit conçu par Dirk Wynants (1964), dessinateur et fondateur de la marque Extremis. Le succès de cette création a permis à la marque de se développer. A l’occasion du 20è anniversaire de ce modèle et de l’entreprise, Wynants présente le descendant de Gargantua, une table à la fois robuste, élégante et sobre, baptisée Pantagruel. Of course you need top quality salmon when inviting Scandinavian people to your home. But do you know how to prepare it their way?
Place the sugar, 280g of the invert sugar and the water in a saucepan and cook until the thermometer shows 110°C. Add this syrup to the remaining 400g of invert sugar. Mix it in a food processor with a flat dough hook until it has the consistency of beaten egg white. Take the gelatine out of the cold water, squeeze out any excess water, and cook it briefly in a small saucepan over low heat until it is melted. Add the melted gelatine immediately to the mixture in the food processor. Line a baking tray with a silicone baking mat, set a rectangular baking ring on top of it and pour the mixture into it. Let it rest overnight at room temperature. Run a knife around the inside of the baking ring and cut the marshmallows into whatever shapes you want. Dust them with icing sugar.
