yeblink reaches its first anniversary successfully and in all previous editions, various celebrities were featured on the cover page of the magazine. Here are the reactions of some of them and how they felt associating with Eyeblink.

Vithika Sheru – Eyeblink cover shoot was one hell of an experience for me. It was a very heavy dress with loads of jewellery. It was very difficult to carry that dress but I loved it. The way Eyeblink team took care of my makeup and design is extraordinary. I wish Eyeblink completes many more successful years like this.

Rana Daggubati – I am very happy to be associated with Eyeblink. It was like yesterday I did the cover photo shoot for Eyeblink and already they have completed one year successfully. I was busy shooting for Bahubali and the photo shoot got cancelled several times but finally made it happen. My best wishes to Eyeblink on their anniversary.

Nisha Aggarwal – I have done many cover shoots and I enjoyed the photo session for Eyeblink magazine. While I was a little busy with films during that time, I am enjoying my married life now. I have also enjoyed the interview I had given to Eyeblink and have discussed things with them. I wish Eyeblink best of luck.

Shahid Kapoor – I have given a very casual interview to Eyeblink at the time of R..Rajkumar promotions in Hyderabad. I checked the edition later and was amazed with the quality of the magazine. I felt happy that I gave the interview at the right time. Good luck Eyeblink.

Sudheer Varma – This is my first cover page photo shoot. I was very excited when I got a call from Eyeblink. It was a wonderful experience to feature on the cover page with my best buddies. This cover photo shoot is one of my best memories. Three cheers to Eyeblink.

Dhanya Balakrishna – After venturing into movies, taking account of time became very difficult. Only yesterday I remember shooting for Eyeblink and now it has already completed one year. I still remember that beautiful frock which was a perfect fit on me and I was looking super pretty in it. My best wishes to Eyeblink.

BEAUTIFICATION… SKIN, HAIR, & CARE Winter went away, leaving behind some half empty tubs of moisturizer. If you saved it for the next winter, or thought that you can stay away from the moisturizer for some months, then you are wrong. Summer heat makes your skin dryer and that is when you have to enrich your skin with more external moisturizers. Drink more water, protect yourself from the harsh side of the sun, take in coolants such as coconut water, lassi and avoid oily foods… …and… Naturally exfoliate the dead skin generated during winter, with oatmeal paste or sea salt or coffee grounds. Use honey to condition your skin. Its healing properties make your skin tone even and protects you fron acne. Egg yolks are great natural conditioners for hair. Mix an egg yolk with some yoghurt and a few drops of almond oil, apply the mixture to your hair and

rinse after 30 minutes to feel the revived softness in your hair. Winter damage can instantly be controlled by the natural oils like coconut, almond, jojoba, castor, olive oils. These

oils when combined with shea butter can also prevent the hair dryer damage due to the thermal protection properties. So follow these tips, and have a happy summer!

S

he’s spunky and she’s eccentric. She’s deliciously perky and she’s all set to rule the Bollywood rooster! She’s Kangana Ranaut. With a strong willed persona of her own, Kangana Ranaut is known to be one of the most straight forward actresses today. At one moment you might end up feeling this glam diva is lot of oomph, pomp and attitude. But as and when you get to know her through a conversation, you get to see the many layered Kangana, one who is definitely a towering testament to strength and solidarity. She might be unabashed but for the sake of being real, she cannot compromise on her honesty at the cost of modesty and she is definitely a fighter, a warrior who has battled all odds and emerged triumphant. Much like her Rani from Queen! And when we caught up with the star brimming with happiness, thanks to a heavily appreciated Queen, she spoke exclusively about her Crossroads to Fashion and her tryst with Eyeblink.

You have struggled your way to the top and there have been moments of dejection where you have lost out to other actresses, who have risen above with the help of a lot of piggybacking. Are you happy that you have finally proven a point to all your critics? Well it definitely was a tough phase for me and it did bog me down at one point of time. But then, I think, finally everything fell in place. Like everybody else, I too have my share of ups and downs and like

30

The reigning queen of Bollywood everyone else even I have gone through a lot of good as well as bad experiences. Especially if you are a woman, you would know that there are a lot of troubles that one needs to go throughout her life span and I am no different! In our case, it just gets published and becomes a big issue but it is similar to all the natural obstacles that we all face and pass through in life. It is not at all different but it just becomes too much written about and hyped. People do go through a family crisis or a bad relationship and people do have bad experiences but there is nothing unusual about it. It’s the extra mirch masala in the write ups that add to all the hoopla! Even your family was dead against you working in films and you left your house to join movies. Was that entire phase traumatizing? I am from a conservative family in Himachal Pradesh. And it was obvious that initially there were some objections. But now they understand that if I am taking drugs, or slapping my hero, or sleeping with my boss, it’s because my character in the film needs it. It’s my job to make my characters realistic. (Pauses) You know what, you should not be asking about my parents but about my relatives in Himachal... it’s their reaction that irritates! They don’t have problem with my bold scenes or dialogues, but they want me to dance, deliver dialogues and give all the details

about what Amitabh, Shah Rukh, Kareena, Aishwarya and the lot do, wear, eat, etc... as if I am the know-all of Bollywood. Were you pampered a lot as a child? I was never pampered in my life. In fact, I always upset them and they were quite ashamed of me since I spoke my mind. Once my grandfather, who was speaking to a few guests remarked that in our house, women eat after men in the house has had their fill. I barged in saying, “No, we always have our meal before you.” This upset my grandfather and caused much embarrassment to my parents. But once you took that one risk, that one step ahead and defied all norms to be this leading Bollywood heroine, who few years back was a small town girl from the serene Himachal Pradesh, do you think you stand as an epitome of towering strength and inspiration for all other aspiring actresses? I really don’t know how and if I actually inspire anybody else. But I hope that I inspire them in a good way. My journey has been really personal and I never started off with an intention of inspiring people. My goals are very personal too but if you can, you should not start off your journey thinking about how to inspire others but how to gain inspiration from everyone around you. But I do love the fact that I get to inspire people in such a way. Queen as we all saw was an inspirational film. I don’t know how inspired I am in

real so inspiring others has never been my motto or the agenda but yes it’s good to know that people love me and get inspired by me. But mostly, I feel it’s the characters like Rani and others which I have portrayed that has inspired the fandom. I live my life the way I am and I do not like to carry that extra baggage having to live a life for others around me. I am a selfish person (Laughs) You started off with Gangster and then you ushered in huge critical acclaim for all the films that you have been a part of. People started recognizing you as an established

star. What according to you is the major turning point in your life? I would say that the turning point in my life is Queen! You know there was this phase where I had been working in big heavyweight films with big stars but I could not add on much to the film. I know people would come and flatter me saying I was good in the film but then eventually I would know that at the end of the day, I could not contribute much to the films. Tanu Weds Manu was a juncture where I chose to do this refreshingly new film with a budding director over a film like The Dirty Picture with a brand like Balaji. Somehow the power to say no and the urge to do more artistic roles insinuated a new me within. But with queen ushering in such huge accolades everywhere, I am really looking forward to everything here. Queen came and changed the way people perceived me. I was no more an arm candy and I was this one small town girl who is busy living life on her own terms. Somehow initially the same people who felt I am too reluctant and moody and considered me way too upfront for the business came up to me and started relating with my individual spaces. Queen helped me mark my individuality and helped people get to terms with who I am! From being sidelined by heavyweight actors in big budget films to making a mark even with limited screen presence and grey shades today, your transformation has been magnanimous. Your take on that. That is totally true. You wouldn’t believe every time I did a good film, I was definitely appreciated for my performance but no one ever came to me with a strong role. I don’t believe in sucking upto anyone for work so when my hard work isn’t paid off well, I feel dejected, lonely but the very next moment it makes me work even better. And that I guess has toppled everything else. Today when Queen has been appreciated and

I am suddenly made to be every girl’s role model, I don’t take it seriously at all! (Laughs) Today I am doing g a good film so they like me, tomorrow they might hate me. Nothing is constant but yes there is definitely the desire to make sure the audience love me. You have always been loved unimaginably when you opted for a negative or dark character. With Kaya and now Revolver Rani, is grey the new black and white for you? I love grey shades. They have somehow always worked for me as a performer. Queen was a very sweet character but again in Revolver Rani, I have a really dark character. I love such characters because I find them really entertaining. I think somewhere an erratic character’s journey is very fulfilling as a viewer. You have always been extremely unabashed and real. Do you think that kind of brings in an additional baggage of controversies along with it? Yeah, I totally feel that this is true. Its when you don’t suck up to people who are used to getting sucked up, that’s when people find you a soft target for all their frustration and stuff. Jo bhi hai, unko Mubarak ho! But then, who cares? I don’t know but I really don’t care! With Queen, you have developed yourself as a potential heroine who can pull off a film without any lead hero. Do you think that would bring a change in outlook in an industry that’s fathomed by male chauvinism? No, I don’t feel there is a change at all. I don’t think there is still that much of a change in the audience pulse that you can conclude saying the audiences want to flock to theatres, saying, ‘We want to watch a woman centric film today’ or even a director picks up a subject or a film thinking, ‘Lets make a woman centric film’. I don’t know about others but I think my films are high concept films. And it so happens that the protagonists in the films are females but it has never occurred to my director that I want to make a film about a girl now. That is totally irrelevant. In such high concept films, a protagonist could be a machine also. Films should not be made for men, women or children subjectively. It should be made for its concepts! Doing women centric films today and playing strong women characters on screen, is it a conscious decision for Kangana to be inclined towards such roles? I don’t know about all that. I just know that

31

I deserve to be a lot more than just an arm candy in films and I am working towards that. I veer towards great roles rather than sticking to the often used stereotype that typecasts or objectifies women into a box in Bollywood. And finally, I am also getting such offers and such roles to play with. I am happy that today, I am getting what I always wanted and more than that, what I always deserved. I feel every girl should think the same. They should not settle with something they are not happy with. Coming to inspiration today, you stand tall as one of the biggest fashionistas around. How do you take it when people label you as one? I don’t really like being a called a fashionista or a fashion icon. I think it is just a waste of time to constantly keep thinking what is right to wear and what would make me a fashionista around in town. I think that’s quite stupid. But I don’t like to dress for others. I love wearing good clothes so I just dress for myself. But where did you imbibe this sudden burst of Fashion sense all from? Well, I love travelling and ever since I

came to Mumbai, I have been reading and traveling a lot more to different places and understanding their cultures. That is how I pick up different styles. But I guess it is more because I am from a small town and I am like one of those outsiders who have never been openly welcomed by the industry. So I had this thought of overcompensating that in my own way of dressing up versus all the actresses who have been beauty pageant winners or supermodel! It just helped me to learn a lot more. Any fashion trend that you love right now?

Well, to me colour is the new black and I am just going with the flow. In reality, I am quite choosy and I wear whatever fits my mood for the day. As I already said, I love dressing up myself so there is not one particular fashion trend that I can mention. But obviously, it is driven by my mood entirely. With women in India not being considered safe, what would be your message to the women brigade? I don’t know, I cannot do anything about the safety of women. It is not in my hands or in your hands. The people who are responsible for it should take charge. Our government and the police should take charge! I just hope that everyone stays safe and I pray to God to keep everyone safe. But for young girls, I would like to say that they should concentrate on their careers, make a life, there is just one life that we all have got. So its best to make your own name, your own money and not be dependent on anyone else for anything! That is what I did with my life and I hope everyone does the same.

Veena’s hubby is by her side When Asad Khan Khattak married Veena Malik they swore to be by each others side through thick and thin, ups and downs, good and bad. Asad has proved himself by being by her side through out the Problems that were created by her Digital Manager who worked for 10k per month. There was only little left for imagination when with each passing day; the episode took a nasty turn. But the dotting husband was always supporting her.

32

Asad understands that in the film world, controversies keep on happening. While some are true, some are abysmally shocking. Some see falling out between spouses while some see parting of inseparable friends. Some of them make a star while some of them break a star. But, what is left is morality. He knows that Veena was right throughout the duel and he even knows that she won’t get back her jewellery and other goodies but, he looks at it as an important lesson in their

life. He wouldn’t blindly believe in any person. And he will always be by her side. He always believed in her when her digital manager claimed that Veena and he were together. He knew it the first time the news flashed before his eyes. He loves her a lot. Both of them share a very comfortable relationship and share everything with each other.

By 2005, he started making some money and then decided to get married. He was told by a marriage agent about Swetha. Meanwhile Swetha came to India and was getting some marriage proposals. She was ready and thought that she could settle down on a proper match. She wanted someone who gives her space and independence. So finally, on the last day before leaving to New Zealand, she met him at Shanti Sagar Restaurant in Somajiguda. Chandrasekhar was very particular that he wanted to be in India and told the same to Swetha. She felt that he was a genuine guy and decided to come back. She went, resigned and came back to India. The couple got married on November 27th 2004. Later, the couple went on to excel in their own respective fields. Chandrasekhar had a roaring business since then and now is one of the leading architects and interior designers in the city. Swetha Reddy worked for a couple of years with some corporates and later started her own jewellery store. It is named after their daughter Hiya, and is called Hiya jewellers. It is one of the most sought after unconventional jewellery outlet in the city. Talking about destiny, Chandrasekhar says his whole life was revolving around Somajiguda. The place he first met his wife, started his first office, Swetha Reddy starting her first jewellery store, their house, everything was in this area.

W

hile we plan a lot of things in life, destiny has its plans for us. The story of Swetha Reddy and Chandrasekhar is a standing testimony to this. Swetha Reddy, one of the well known jewel designers in the city and Chandrasekhar is one of the top Architects of the city. This is all the present but the past is not all that rosy. They did not get this all very easily. Back then, Swetha Reddy was working for the customs in New Zealand and Chandrasekhar was struggling with his architectural career. Chandrasekhar started his career as an independent Architect in 2003 and was struggling to find clients as he was inexperienced.

34

Swetha Reddy says that lack of understanding and not giving enough time to each other are the main reasons for breakups and divorces between couples. Chandrasekhar says that like mindedness and time are the main factors. Even in their busy schedule, they do got out occasionally for parties even if its very late in the night and go for a vacation every year.

Once on the occasion of Rakhi, Maya Patel was tying Rakhis to all her brother’s friends and Ramesh Patel was also there along with other friends. Maya Patel has tied Rakhis to all other people but stopped at Ramesh Patel and did not want to tie him a Rakhi. Though she had a negative feeling on him initially, she did not want him to be her brother and from then on their travel started. When Ramesh Patel’s parents were looking for suitable matches from him to get married, he told them that he would like to marry Maya and no one else. Then Ramesh Patel’s parents went and spoke to Maya’s parents. They were hesitant to get her married but later agreed. They were engaged initially and after 3 years, when Maya Patel completed her studies, they got married on 3rd December 1998.

amesh Patel, popularly known as ‘Stellar’ Ramesh Patel to the Page 3 circles of Hyderabad, is the owner of Stellar home accessories outlet. He and his wife Maya Patel are regularly spotted at events and parties. Their son Brahmesh is a national gold medalist in national level artistic skating and their daughter Palak is a Guinness book record holder in Kuchipudi dance. The couple has completed almost 15 years of marital life and here is the story behind their successful

relationship. Ramesh Patel and Maya Patel, both belong to the Patel samaj of Hyderabad. They know each other from childhood but Maya Patel was not interested in him as he carried the image of a playboy and most of the people in the samaj did not like him. Whereas Ramesh Patel, was interested in Maya Patel from the beginning. That is the reason he made friends with her brother and used to visit her house.

When asked about how their marital life was until now, both of them have absolutely no regrets. “I will not say that we have had our ups and downs and even today, we quarrel a lot, but the trust we have on each other is so immense that even if he goes out partying and clicks pictures with some chicks, I’m ok with it as I know he can never do wrong”, said Mrs Patel. Mr. Ramesh Patel also said that his wife was the main reason behind the success of both their children. “She is also well educated and can bring about tremendous changes in our business. But she choose family over finances and thought that children are her priority. Whatever my children have achieved today is totally the credit of their mother”, he said. Speaking about the current day relationships which are very short termed, they said that too much of understanding and brainstorming before marriage and fragile egos are the reason for the short term relationships. They said that Patience and understanding are the key things for a relationship to last for a long time. Well, that is a very interesting story of Ramesh Patel and Maya Patel. Eyeblink wishes them all the luck and success in their future endeavors.

handana Brothers is one of the initial ventures in the field of retail clothing and now has grown to one of the world’s biggest retail stores. With its branches in almost every popular town of the state and main cities of the country, Chandana Brothers and CMR shopping mall are house hold names in almost every Telugu house. Dr. Jana Rama Rao, who is the son in law of the Chandana Brothers founder Chandana Mohan Rao, is one of the men behind this growth. Dr. Jana Rama Rao, a dental surgeon, graduated from Osmania Medical College, has very humble roots. He was born and brought up in a small village called Antarvedipalem. He belongs to a middle class family in this region and was one of the very few students who studied well. He went on to complete his BDS and set up a clinic in his native village and practiced for 3 years. Later, he moved on into the retail business to help his father in law and co-brothers.

36

ow the story of Captain Kishen and his wife Jyothi Kishen is quite interesting. In their 30 years of marital life, they have more or less leaded a life of luxury and bliss. But it was not that easy in the beginning says Mrs Jyothi Kishen. Initially, when they ventured into the construction business, they were a little low, but not in confidence. They bounced back and are now one of the leading competitors in the market. Captain Kishen was a pilot and was a member of many flying clubs in India. He was a close associate of Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi, both of them are also pilots. When there were very few pilots in the country, it was a matter of prestige and pride to be a pilot. Hence he knew almost every big celebrity and politician in the country. Godey Murahari, former Lok Sabha deputy speaker, a close friend of Captain Kishen and also the cousin of Mrs Jyothi Kishen, was the key man to help this marriage workout. When Captain Kishen saw Mrs Jyothi in a family function in Chennai, he was very impressed. He then wrote her

letters and sent them through his friend Murahari. Initially, Mrs Jyothi and her family members were a bit hesitant. They were from the same community but from different regions and cultural backgrounds. But after Mrs Jyothi was convinced that Captain Kishen was a well intended man, they have agreed and got married on December 24th 1984. Even though captain Kishen was a passionate pilot, he was also looking into the family business of construction and was keeping a track. Soon after marriage, he took his business seriously and saw excellent results. Everyone in their family are involved in the business in various departments. Captain Kishen is the Managing Director and Mrs Jyothi Kishen is the director who takes care of Finance and Investments division. Their children are also directors in Ksheeraabd Constructions Pvt. Ltd. Their daughter Aishwarya is a doctor and is married. Their son Kalyan is also the director in KCPL and also the

master mind behind Ksheeraawali Jewellers. He is also soon starting his independent construction firm and building row houses near the outskirts of Hyderabad. Speaking on the current day relationships, Mrs Jyothi Kishen said that lack of understanding between the couple is the main reason for these frequent breakups. She also blamed the lack of proper parenting and pampering. She wished that every parent would tell their son or daughter how to adjust and live before marriage so that they will not have a problem once they move in together. Now that is a good piece of advice from Mrs Jyothi Kishen and also their story is very inspiring. Grab the essence of it and live a happy life people..!!..

medico marrying a medico is a very usual thing but this medico duo has a very nice love story. This is the story of Santosh and Sivaranjani, both doctors. Dr. Santosh is one of the founders of Magna clinics for obesity, diabetes and endocrinology. Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh is the HOD Pediatrics at Birthplace and is also a consultant at Magna clinics. Dating back to the good old memories during college times, Dr Santosh shared his journey with Eyeblink. When Dr Santosh was pursuing his MD Medicine at JIPMER, and Dr. Sivaranjani was also pursuing her MD Pediatrics, they met through a common friend. This common friend was posted as an intern in the ICU where Dr Santosh was looking into cases. Dr. Sivaranjani used to come to ICU to meet her friend and that is how they met. After that they went for dinners for one or two times and thought that their wavelengths are matching and could take this forward further. After they hung around for a couple of months they realized that they are made for each other and decided to get married. From the day of their first meeting till the day they got married, all it took was just 11 months. There was not much resistance from either of the households and the

marriage was a grand ceremony. Later, they worked in Malaysia for six months and came back to Chandigarh. Dr. Santosh pursued his DM in Endocrinology and Dr. Sivaranjani has taken a maternity leave of two and a half years. While she decided to enjoy her motherhood, she also wrote a book on motherhood and childcare which is the top seller in the FlipKart retail website. Dr. Santosh later worked for Apollo Hospitals until he resigned in December 2012 to start Magna clinics for obesity,

be a doctor but the choice is obviously left to her he says. Dr. Santosh thinks that nuclear families, moving out of places of origin and lack of parental support are the main reasons for the failure of relationships. Increasing career ambitions in men and women is also the reason he analyzed for this problem. The solution he said was that both men and women should realize that both of them are equally empowered and have the scope to develop mutually.

worked together, grown together and were with each other in times of highs and lows. That is the reason their business blossomed with high profits within very reasonable time. Within just two years of establishing a restaurant, they got the best upcoming restaurant award and their canteen at JBIT won the best college canteen award. Mr Venkatesh says that the reason for these victories is Mrs Padma and her constant monitoring and hard work. They have 2 children, both of them engineers, who take care of the technical works of the company such as websites etc. The elder one is working with IBM and is shortly going to the USA for MBA and his younger son just finished his graduation and is planning to go for MS in USA. ow this is a very interesting story. Jagini Venkatesh and Jagini Padma completed 26 years of their marital life and one has a lot of inspiration to take from their lives. Venkatesh, who was a contractor with water works initially, entered the field of catering with passion in 1991 and now are one of the leading caterers in the city with a restaurant, two college canteens, and a lot of orders from the government and private sector. Looking back into their lives, the couple has expressed complete satisfaction and immense joy. But both of them striked a

common note by saying that none of this would have been possible without the co-operation of one another. Mr. Venkatesh now owns Venky’s Veg restaurant at Nampally and Mrs Padma takes care of the canteen needs at JBIT college. Mr. Venkatesh almost travels for 150 kilometers per day to reach out to all his business needs and says that all this growth in business would not be possible without the constant support of his wife Mrs Padma. Recollecting some good old memories from their early days, Mr. Venkatesh expressed his happiness for finding a likeminded partner like Mrs Padma. Theirs was an arranged marriage and Mr. Venkatesh went to see Mrs Padma on the reference of his friend and then took his parents to their house to put the proposal in front of their parents. They got married on 12th February 1988 and from then on they lived together,

Venkatesh feels that Ego is the main reason for quick break ups. Understanding and respect for one another will never lead to such incidents he says. Mrs Padma says that the divorces usually happen in love marriages but do not happen in arranged marriages. Well this story of Mr Venkatesh and Mrs Padma will surely inspire a lot of youth to develop proper entrepreneurial skills and will teach some lessons of hard work and discipline which are the key to the success of this couple.

couple can be called successful based on the upbringing of their children. Well in that case, Mr. Rajagopal and Mrs. Vyjayanthi can be called the most successful couple. They have been married for almost 30 years now but they still look ever young. Mr Rajagopal is the Director – Operations at Reva -Health, Skin and hair care, while Mrs. Vyjayanthi is in the Banking field working for State Bank of India. Speaking to Eyeblink, they have expressed immense satisfaction in their journey so far. Mr. Rajagopal started as a medical representative in Nizamabad initially and Mrs Vyjayanthi had always been a banker. They got married on June 7th 1985. With very humble beginnings, the couple had worked hard and has now excelled in every field they ventured. Mr. Rajagopal worked with Glaxo Smith Kline for almost 20 years in various positions and has now come out of it to become the director of Reva. Now the most significant achievement for the couple is the way their daughters were brought up. Their elder daughter has finished her B.Tech and went to the USA to complete her MS and then pursued her MBA also. She got married recently and is living in the US. There, she has adopted two girls and is taking care of all their needs. Their younger daughter, who just graduated from St. Francis is a classical singer and has participated in many reality shows. She has now enrolled for a 2 year fellowship at Teach For India, an organization committed to increase the

literacy rate in India. They will deploy their fellows at various government or private schools in various parts of the country and provide quality education to children. Usually, when both the parents are working, they will not find ample time to

take care of their children. Mrs. Vyjayanthi also feels the same for both their children that she could have given more time to them. Though she did not accept any promotions in view of their children, she still feels that she has missed to see their childhood. But she also feels that due to this, both their children have grown to be independent people and today it is reflecting in their character and personality. Talking about the current day relationships, Mr. Rajagopal said that immaturity in the couple is the main reason for the frequent split ups. He also said that due to the change in the generation, one is not giving ample time to their partners for personal interests and feelings. Mrs Vyjayanthi said that high expectations from the partners and pampering of kids by the parents are also some issues for the break ups. They said that their elder daughter’s was a love marriage and they are one of the successful couple they have seen. Now isn’t this an inspiring story? Grab the essence from the lives of this couple and lead a happy life with your partner and family.

Silk Mark India

– Purity Guaranteed.

N

ow ladies, this is a very important feature for you. Read it and understand carefully. Whenever you head into the market to buy some gold, you ask the vendor for a certificate of 916 KDM or 22 Carat. You also believe in the hallmark labels and ISI labels of the government on various other products. But when it comes to silk, how can you be sure that you are actually buying pure silk?? Do you know that there is an organization which checks the quality of the silk these vendors buy?? Silk Mark India is a Government authority, which checks on the quality of silk the vendors are selling. It is also creating awareness to the citizens of India regarding the recognition of pure silk. Mr Chandan Kumar, the Assistant Director (inspection) from the department

‘Silk Mark India is a Government authority, which checks on the quality of silk the vendors are selling. It is also creating awareness to the citizens of India regarding the recognition of pure silk’

of sericulture has spoken to Eyeblink and shared a lot of valuable information. According to the trade sources, India is the second largest producer and largest consumer of silk in the world. India produces nearly 23000 metric tons of silks every year and almost 65 lakh people in the country are making a livelyhood out of sericulture. Yet the awareness people have about silk is very less and this is being taken as an advantage by certain silk traders and are selling polyester and Nylon in the name of silk. As a result, the traditional weavers of Kanchi, Pochampalli, Uppada, Dharmavaram, Venkatagiri, etc are being robbed of their bread. Hence, the government introduced the concept of Silk Mark, which is a kind of hologram to certify the purity and originality of silk. He insists on asking the vendor regarding the silk mark before buying a saree. Mr. Chandan Kumar has also suggested a simple litmus test to find out whether the silk is pure or not. Just take out a strand from the saree and burn it he says. Since pure silk is made of protein fiber, it gives a hair burning smell and also the flame goes off instantly. But if it Nylon or polyester, it will keep on burning and gives a pungent smell. The Silk Mark organization of India is established in 2005 to bring awareness in public and educate them. Over one crore Silk Marks are issued annually and over 2500 people are members in this organization.

Any enquiries about the sale of impure silk can be reported to 040-23553337.

NATURALLY “MADE UP” OF

The makeup kit, has some cool things to make you look amazing. You only have to notice them. This season, the “mantra” is to look natural. Now that’s easy! Its good that you don’t have to be stressed about getting that perfectly straight hair, glossed up lips and shiny make up which could dampen you. Here is how you can stay natural without stepping into the mistake zone Let your hair be at its {natural} best. Light wavy strands, casual updo’s, loose braids and buns can all do good until you are comfortable. Naturally plain eyes, with a tiny, colorful smoking effect, or just a stroke above or below the eye are good, just for that detailing. Avoid gloss and shine for lips and cheeks, which reflect more light and heat. Go for matte lips in any shade for a classy, yet funky look. Step out of the neutral greys and blacks and add more fruity colours like coral, tangerine, crimson, and red. Keep it simple, and keep it stylish. Remember, it should only look easy but not careless. One has to believe that some effort also goes into just looking natural. Above all, wear that confidence on your face, and go for it!

Venky’s Veg: This restaurant,

located at Nampally, is by far the only restaurant which offers authentic Hyderabadi vegetarian cuisine. With its, spacious and decent ambiance, excellent service and fabulous taste, Venkys’ Veg is one of the restaurants which every vegetarian in the town must try out. The Nizami Pulav

is hands down the best dish in the restaurant.

Singh’s Dhaba: This restaurant is located at Paradise Junction opposite Universal Bakery. Usually, Punjabis offer a wide variety of non vegetarian dishes. But this one has the essence of Punjabi food but is a pure vegetarian restaurant. The starters like Paneer Tikka, Paneer Sophiana, and kababs are excellent. The USP of the restaurant is their finely chopped onion salad with a special Punjabi delicacy called Bhangda Thumps Up. And do not forget to relish on the thick sweet lassi as a dessert. Kailash Parbat: Located at Rd.

No.36 Jubilee Hills, this is the only restaurant which offers a wide range

of vegetarian items on a lavish buffet. The specialty of the restaurant is that it serves exclusive Guajarati food in the buffet, and also has the regular items as other restaurants do. The best part about this buffet is that it has nearly 17 items on the dessert counter which every food lover will relish.

Box Office Buzz How much Hyderabadis like films? Quite evident from the number of theaters in the city and the collections from this area along. So lets take a peep into whats making buzz at the box office. Anamika: This film is a remake of the much appreciated film Kahaani which is made by Sekhar Kammula in both Telugu and Tamil. Nayanatara, Vaibhav and Pasupathy play pivotal characters in the film. Though it is a remake, they have just taken the line from Kahaani and have woven a different story around it. These kinds of movies are not expected from Sekhar Kammula as his genre is entirely different. But refreshingly, he has proven that he can make films of all kind. If you haven’t seen Kahaani, you will love this film and if you have seen, you will like it

Kotha Janta: Allu Sirish, who failed to impressed with his debut flick has now come as Kotha Janta with Regina Cassandra as the heroine and the one and only ‘youth’ful director Maruthi. This movie, produced by Bunny Vas under Geetha Arts has released recently and has garnered very bad reviews. Except for Richard Prasad’s camera work and Regina Cassandra’s performance, nothing in the movie is good say the audience. This movie is running poorly at the BO.

2 States: Chetan Bhagat’s novels like 3 mistakes of my life, five point someone are made into movies. Now, his penultimate book, 2 states also joined the list. Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor played the lead characters of a Tamil Brahmin girl and a Punjabi boy. Debutante Abhishek Varman directed the film and Karan Johar is the producer. The movie garnered mixed reviews and is performing averagely at the Box Office. Amazing Spiderman 2: Now the first part of Amazing Spiderman was a big hit and now comes its sequel. Directed by Marc Webb of 500 Days of Summer fame, directed both these sequels. The film has the same cast and crew as the first part. It had got mixed reviews but the children are enjoying the film. It got released in local languages like Hindi and Telugu too and is going good.
