support to start working in the regions. And first regional session will be hosted by Aragatsotn marz. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? I am applying for this position because I have a perfect vision where we are going and in which directions I should work furthermore. Lots of work has been done during 1 year of my work in the capacity of Vice-President on External Relations and as mentioned before EYP Armenia gained a lot from this, but I have to confess that I have been going through difficulties, disappointments however still due to hard work, belief and devotion I never gave up even on the most daring ideas, most of which were perfectly implemented. Now being much more experienced, creating lots of contacts with different high schools, universities, organizations and even entertaining places (AEON, Jean Paul existential CafÊ, etc.) as well as having many ongoing projects and bright ideas I am sure I will bring lots of new great achievements to EYP Armenia. I think that our Alumni and Members are already getting advantage of the work done before and believe me so much is yet to come. What is EYP Armenia for you? First of all EYP Armenia has become second family for me where each of us is so different and valuable. However we have something in common, which unities us, it’s an ability to see and reveal the uniqueness of all and each of us, which gives an amazing sense of belonging to this circle particularly and to our country in general. At the same time it’s a perfect place to be challenged, to gain new skills, to learn and to reveal yourself in a new light. But most of all I like EYP because of the idea of bringing new reality and step by step making Armenia much better place to live and work. Due to EYP Armenian youth is becoming an irreplaceable part of our civil society.

Believing that big changes should start from educating the youth and equally developing all the regions of Armenia, I co-organized, chaired and facilitated the Green Camp 2009 in Dilijan, Girls Leadership training 2012 in Choratan, GirlsLead 2013 camp in Berd. Another project aimed at the youth in Tavush region was the Education USA Student Ambassador program with American Councils. For almost a year we worked with exceptionally talented students from Ijevan practicing English. We are also launching English Spelling competitions for High School students from different marzes. The last project I am working on is the EYP first regional session. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? 2015 will be an amazing year of spreading EYP ideas, talks, debates, assemblies and warmness in the regions of Armenia as well. Having the experience of working in the regions for a long time, understanding the influence of education and such events in smaller towns, I would like to be a part of the big change. EYP regional sessions will give the chance to feel a part of the big family of crazy dreamers, young doers and simply bright people who are not afraid to think different, to be open and absorb the opportunities that life gives them. I want to be in the team to implement those projects with the smart and shy students from regions, discover new talents and skills, help them not to be afraid to be different. My passion to work with different youth groups from diverse backgrounds will help both me and them to get attached, form friendships and create a warm atmosphere to work efficiently. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP is for Enthusiastic Young People, a group that became more than a family for everyone who once entered. It became sweet memories, all-night-long talks, life-long friendships, hot debates, 11

challenging ourselves and understanding each other better. It is memories of awesome people, cozy evenings, beautiful moments, dancing and believing in peace. believing that one day we will rock higher stages and will inspire bigger audiences... EYP is finding people who are different but equally talented and amazing, it is acknowledging each other and appreciating the essential drop of craziness we all have.

Name, Surname: Raffi Elliott Age: 25 years old City: Montreal Occupation: MA student/self employed EYP Experience: I cannot stress how much of a game changer my EYP experience has been as a whole. Having moved from the Diaspora to Armenia over three years ago, I was constantly warned by my peers both abroad and here that Armenia had no future, and that its youth was leaving in droves, while those who remained were part of a so-called 'lost generation'. However, Meeting with Hovsep and his team, as well as those who participated in the event showed me that there is an educated and vibrant youth culture in Armenia, with goals and ambitions, which is increasingly asserting itself. I had a chance to make many close friends with whom I still keep contact. I greatly enjoyed the forums organised by this organisation as it allowed me to grow both as a person and with my local compatriots. EYP also gave me a chance to test my political credentials by sending me as an Armenian delegate to Riga, Latvia in 2014, for the EYP international session. This was also a very rewarding experience for me. Though I am busy these days with my company which is slowly taking off. I try to be as available as possible to help nurture a new generation of European-Armenian political class. Experience in the field of the position applying: I have been doing something quite similar with my own NGO, Armenian Students for liberty. I'm pretty good at it, and I have lots of contacts in the outlying towns and villages of Armenia, and I love to travel outside of Yerevan. I would do a good job of developing the European ecosystem outside of the Capital City, and to build a network of regional EYPs so that we will no longer be embarrassed at international sessions where every other country has a thousand local branches, while we only have Yerevan. I would obviously start with Gyumri and Vanadzor, and work our way to Artsakh as well. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Though I am busy these days with my company which is slowly taking off. I try to be as available as possible to help nurture a new generation of European-Armenian political class. Those of you 13

who know me, will be aware of the resolve with which I work on projects. Furthermore, I am well connected with youth circles in the cities outside of What is EYP Armenia for you? At the risk of repeating what I wrote in the first box, EYP Armenia is a chance for young people to break the social rules of a conservative, post-soviet society where people were taught not to challenge the dominant narrative. Young adults have the opportunity to share their ideas, discuss with peers, and fight for the ideals they hold dear in mock parliamentary sessions calqued on the European model. This experience will allow the next generation of Armenian parliamentarians to turn the National Assembly into a vibrant establishment for debate, and the sharing of ideas, helping shape Armenia's positive future.

Name, Surname: Harutyun Avagyan Age: 21 years old City: Yerevan Occupation: I have graduated from French University in Armenia. Currently I work at HSBC Bank Armenia. EYP Experience: I joined EYP Armenia from its first days. I have participated in the 1st and 2nd National Selection Conferences as a delegate. I also participated in the EYP Business Simulation Conference. My last participation was within the scope of The 3rd EYP Forum to Empower Emerging Leaders (#FEEL) on “Activate youth for sustainability: obtaining and rebuilding (#AYSOR)” as a chairperson of the Economic and Monetary Affairs committee.

Experience in the field of the position applying: I have always been concerned of deficiency of opportunities in Armenian provinces. Today my economic education enables me not only think of the issue but also take measures to solve it. Being involved in many youth organizations and having a big social capital throughout Armenia I can easily create links with local NGOs and other organizations as well as schools and other institutions, work with local government bodies and authorities and thus engage young people in EYP activities. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? In EYP everyone has a unique chance to act, be heard and lead. And I can surely state, that we use those chances. However, last sessions took place only in Yerevan, thus regional youth was not a part of EYP projects. I would like to change this situation by not bringing them to Yerevan for participation in EYP projects but through organizing EYP's events in their hometowns. It is essential for every organization not to be focused only in the capital, EYP can reach even more success enlarging its area of functioning in Armenian regions since the youth there is in need of such activities, though has a big potential and resources to contribute to its success. I have my clear vision on this issue and have a great desire to use my skills and knowledge in favor of EYP’s future enlargement and victories as I consider EYP to be the engine of youth movement in Armenia. 15

What is EYP Armenia for you? European Youth Parliament Armenia is a place where young generation creates a special atmosphere without any boundaries: an atmosphere where ideas flow freely, where every delegate’s mind is in the game. In EYP we live every moment. For me EYP is place where I see the change in the delegates: how they transform from being a listener to a speaker, from dreamer to an actor, and most importantly from strangers to friends. And for every single joiner the experience is higher that initial expectations. I had the same emotions and experience when I joined EYP. And these are the most memorable moments.

It gives an opportunity to interact with different people, come up and swap new ideas at the same time. Practical and intellectual exchange of this kind will make it possible to share and harvest new concepts and inspiration for future endeavors. I guess the picture could be like this: young, enthusiastic people gathering together, exchanging ideas and producing ardent flow of thoughts which eventually find their rest on sheets of paper and wait for the suitable time to burst into action. Apart from this, it will also contribute to my personal development, making me more independent and mature from a professional aspect.

Experience in the field of the position applying: I have not had any experience in this field yet. The experience is one of the most important things to have success in the field you are working for. But I think, more important is the will to study. For me it is not a shame not to know something, it is a shame not having the will to learn. This is a skill which not everyone has. Maybe there is another person who is more experienced than me, but if he has not this skill than after a while he will fail. Honestly, it will take some time for me to learn my job, because there is nothing that a person cannot learn and study, he needs just some time, but after that hardworking time, i will be one of the bests in this field. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Firstly, I would like to say that I am a person who will develop himself during his whole life and this is a process which has no end like every idea. To accomplish this I have to have some experience (actually I am joking, not some, but much). Secondly, It is a great responsibility for me to be in the board of EYP Armenia, and I want to feel myself in that situation, to understand how I am going to deal with this, with the problems related with the position, which tools I am going to use to solve these problems, to undertand how far I can go with my ambitions, with my dreams. I appreciate very much the punctuality. For me,everything must be in its place. And it is the most important thing which assures the balance in the world. If EYP Armenia Alumni appreciates this quality like me, than he or she should vote for me, if not than i am not the right candidate for him or her. What is EYP Armenia for you?

There is only one main respond for this question.EYP Armenia is the place (not only physical) where I am what I am. It is not one of the Vahe's interpretations. This is the place where who feel yourself as part of a big universe (I am not saying a family, because the Family has an end, it is too simple, EYP Armenia does not have an end, it is like Universe, endless and powerful). So I want to become a bigger star of this big Universe by being selected as a board member.

Name, Surname: Nare Shahnazaryan Age: 18 years old City: Yerevan Occupation: Studying at UFAR (Université Française en Arménie) EYP Experience: I have been selected as an EYP member on September, 2014. I could not realize totally what I would get from this experience. Now I am aware that being an EYP member is both interesting and challenging. I have participated in The 3rd EYP Forum to Empower Emerging Leaders (#FEEL) on “Activate youth for sustainability: obtaining and rebuilding (#AYSOR)”. That was a new opportunity for me. I reckon I will have my investment. A little part of a big world. This is what gave me EYP Armenia Experience in the field of the position applying: Let me illustrate that being a president or a Vice-President is a great pleasure for everyone. Simultaneously it is a big responsibility. I am really keen on that idea. But that is not the position that I want in actual. As I have pinpointed I am studying at UFAR, the department of marketing and PR is a part of marketing. We are investigating both management and marketing. This is a huge chance for improving my skills, learning new things in this field and sharing my creative ideas. One of the most essential things is that I am totally ready for this position and I can moonlight my lessons with my job. As Philip Kotler says: “Marketing is not the art of finding clever ways to dispose of what you make. It is the art of creating genuine customer value.” I am confident about the idea that our main goal is to unite the youth. Thus I will put in a lot of hours to create that customer value, which will contribute to our EYP. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Greetings dear amazing alumni of EYP Armenia. Thank you for the hard and appreciable job you have done this year. I realize that it was tough but at the same time very enjoyable for each of you. The position that I chose is based on the field that I study. It will be a great practice for me and I will be able to implement my planes connected with EYP Armenia. I wish I were a president as it is "awesome" as our president says, but I can learn and give more in this position. I sincerely hope that you will make a right choice and will give a chance the one who needs and deserves it. Due to your big efforts today we have a great team, unforgettable background and reliable future. 40

What is EYP Armenia for you? A family, a great united family. Happy moments, unforgettable memories, promising future, new opportunities. I can keep on listing this line, but the most important thing for me in EYP is that we are unique, we are "WE" but not "ME", we encourage each other, we have fun together, we work and we create a better world for us. I can remember the first time when we meet each other after member's election. The first thought that came to my mind was: " OMG, and how they selected me? I am a part of all this!" But now I am sure that nothing was random. I am grateful to EYP Armenia since I am reliant, I believe that I can do much more and I am planning to do my best. I am thankful to EYP as now I have a big friend circle (even in Africa or in Indonesia), I had one of the most original birthdays with approximately 120 people from all over the world. I appreciate the time which I passed during these days. Now it is time to give something to my big family and I am ready for it.

Name, Surname: Inessa Manukyan Age: 18 years old City: Yerevan Occupation: Student at American University of Armenia EYP Experience: My first experience in EYP started with the Public Speaking Competition, where I'd been presented with my speech about accepting the failure and overcoming it. Consequently, I did formulate 5 steps for completing it. Afterwards, the further development of my EYP life started. I took part in the Cork International Forum (Ireland), where I did learn a lot of new skills and techniques regarding political attitudes, communication, problem solving. My EYP experience continued with FEEL AYSOR, as an organizer in PR and Communication. And today, I am included in the organizing team of IEFA 2015. Overall, I listed the experience I gained from the forums I have been participated in, but in addition, in EYP I am experiencing the great strategies and skills of how to be goal-oriented, confident, creative, smart, as well as how to be a real friend. I think this the experience that each person need to be successful in his/her life. Experience in the field of the position applying: I study Public Relations at AUA , BA in English & Communication. Although I am yet a sophomore student, I have already gained some experience as a Communication Officer. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia?

49

I show my great enthusiasm toward getting the opportunity to become the Communication Officer in the Board of EYP Armenia for 2015-2016 because the experience I will gain from this position may have a significant impact in the further development of my education and skills. Since I will get my Bachelor's degree with a specialization in public relations and communications, being a Communication Officer will strengthen my understanding in the field of media. Moreover, the knowledge and experience I managed to get during these 2 years in my university and respectively in other organizations are relevant and correspond to the duties and responsibilities for this position. Finally, it will be a great pleasure and challenge for me to become the board member of EYP Armenia, whose most important goal is to let the youth reveal and express themselves and be able to take part in important decision making processes. I think I am an appropriate candidate for this position, thus I truly recommend EYP Armenia Alumni to vote for me. What is EYP Armenia for you? When entered the EYP Armenia, I made my little steps to success. I was given the opportunity to reveal my strengths and weaknesses, abilities and talents. I formed a unique way of thinking and attitude and I felt what do people mean by "youth voice" in real life, because I experienced it. I never thought that besides my family I can have another one. Even at school my teachers and classmates were often persuading that school is our second family or home I never took it seriously, because to me it was nonsense. Today I am able to perceive that every person on this planet can have a significant impact on the society, people and world. I am one of those goaloriented unique individuals. For this way of thinking I appreciate my second big family, EYP Armenia.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Although I have not been with EYP Armenia for a very long time, I have grown to love it very much. Ever since the first time I participated in an EYP event I have wished to get involved more and more with it. It may seem odd that a person as young as me compared to the most part of the Alumni is applying for such a responsible and important position but I think I am capable of doing well as a communication officer for EYP Armenia. I have much time on my hands and most importantly the will it takes. I would really like to be the communication officer of EYP Armenia for this year as I find enjoyment in these responsibilities instead of a burden. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP Armenia is in my opinion the most awesome youth organization in Armenia. It’s a place where you can meet with Armenia’s most bright, cool, intelligent, and energetic youths. It’s a place which unlike many others has purpose. It gives you free ground to build your own perspectives about the world using your own mindset, through the means of healthy discussion and of course by guidance from equally if not superiorly intelligent and bright people from all around the world. EYP Armenia for me is the family I have just been born in. 51

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? This will not be a motivation letter, but rather a talk with each and every of you. This will not be a motivation letter, but rather a thank you note to each and every of you who not only has become a part of this family, but also keep it alive and thriving. This will not be a motivation letter where I praise myself, speak of my experience, but rather share with you my plans. In the last year, my primary goal was to make EYP known in the regions and only in December our team reached out the goal, special thanks to our Vice-President on International Relations, Tatev Hayrapetyan. This year, it’s an important year for the implementation of our ambitious plans for EYP Sessions in the regions: to strive for more, to reach out the disadvantaged youth in the regions, and to dare the impossibilities of our society. What is EYP Armenia for you? The name consists of two parts “EYP + Armenia” and EYP for me is the way I want to see Armenia: enthusiastic and thriving, not afraid of challenges and always moving forward, unbreakable and unstoppable, to have a say and make its voice heard on the international arena, to have acceptance and respect from all the layers of the society. I won’t speak how much I did for EYP, because one should not be proud of what he did for the things he loves. One does it because otherwise he would not feel complete, doesn’t he? :) And what I got from EYP is every single of you, Alumni and Members. 52

EYP Experience: My EYP history started back in September 2012, when I got involved as a member. Since then I never missed any of EYP Armenia projects or events. More importantly, I became a member of the Executive Board of EYP Armenia as Local Activities Coordinator, and further on as HR and Alumni Coordinator in February 2014, and since then I have had the chance to be in the team leading the organization through its path of development. Experience in the field of the position applying: I am thoroughly aware of EYPs mission and vision, this is one thing you can`t just learn by reading it stated, but you have to feel it and believe in it. And my vast EYP Armenia experience makes me highly competent for being responsible for the strategy development on behalf and for EYP Armenia. A close insight into all the stages of project implementation, starting from the idea generation till the actual realization is yet another advantage I`ve got throughout the last year. Additionally, I have gained a valuable experience in project proposal writing and dealing with various international grants during my employment at the AYLA for the last 6 months. Overall I am confident my skills and motivation do correspond to the position I am applying for. Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? EYP Armenia has been a great example of a thorough path of learning and growing, turning from just a learner to a sharer. It was the perfect platform for me to get to know myself better, to look into my strengths and fears more closely, to revitalize my belief in the power of change. The path leading me up to this moment - writing a motivation to be re-elected to the Board has not been an easy one. It was full of compromises, and sometimes sacrifices, but at the end of the day you just look back and see a huge experience piled with a myriad of wonderful moments and with a stronger motivation to continue to devote yourself to the idea of EYP Armenia, which stands for the most powerful and desired future for me, for my country and for the entire world. I believe I still have a lot to give to EYP, and I am ready for yet another year of challenges! What is EYP Armenia for you?

Before EYP I always thought ''Where do you see yourself in 10 years?'' was the most difficult question. Now I know, it`s not, this one is. EYP is an inspiration, it`s an immeasurable energy, it`s a whole life. But for me this saying goes just right. ''Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain you of your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness''. Cause after all it`s in that nothingness that we find what is the most valuable to our hearts – people. And coming back to what most importantly EYP is for me – it`s still and it will always be the people that EYP brought into my life and people who became an unbelievably precious family for me.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? I am applying to become the IT Officer for one simple reason: I love EYP Armenia and want to see it thriving. If I love someone or something, I do not like to talk about that long but I would rather DO something for it, because actions speak louder than words. I want to spread a word about how great EYP is, make it shine brightly in the internet and attract young, energetic and smart students. I do not pursue any professional interest in becoming EYP Board Member because I am an engineer and it will not help my CV much. Then the motivation for me to apply to the position of the Board Member and dedicate my time and energy to the EYP is simple: I love EYP Armenia and want to see it thriving. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP Armenia for me is the people, the EYPers that it consists of. Nothing else, just that. Take all the young, energetic, smart, bright people out and you'll get nothing. The success of any event, gathering or party we have is based on those personalities that shape it. So nothing else matters to me. EYP Armenia for me is YOU.

Name, Surname: Vahan Kirakosyan Age: 17 years old City: Yerevan Occupation:Creative director at Dan Photography, student

Clay

EYP Experience: Being new to EYP, I can say that I just love the frendly atmosphere here, and that's what lead me to be part of the "feel Aysor" forum. And the exciting part of this was, that in this very step in EYP I wasn't just a member, but one of the media team members, moreover, photographer (vidographer). This was the biggest event, but I also took part in some gathering, in the charity concert in aeon anti-cafe. I'm also one of those 3 photographers who run EYP's project "Humans of Yerevan". Experience in the field of the position applying: THE PASSION OF WHAT I DO! This very moto and the background I have make me apply for this position. Studying general photography, photojournalism, editoral and commercial photography for around 2 years, made me set up "Dan Clay photography" where presently I'm a head photographer and a creative director. I've been working in the administration of Kentron district in Yerevan as a photographer for around a year. I've aso been a volunteer-photographer in "Golden Apricote" film festival. The next destination is EYP I guess.

Why are you applying for the position in the Board of EYP Armenia? Following the truism "be superior at what you do, or don't do it at all" I'm sure I'll have my big contribution and beneficence in EYP. I think in the avocation of photography except for acknowledging the background, words are baloney... the big substance of what a photographer does, is to see their works, to see their portfolio. I'd love all the members at first to look up my photography page on FB that is "Dan Clay Photography" and then decide whether to vote for me. What is EYP Armenia for you? EYP is an oportunity full of people that can change many things. I say can, because we want, because we are motivated and motivational, and because we are a huge family.
