DNIPRO REGIONAL SESSION OF EYP UKRAINE
VISION BOOKLET
EDITOR’S VISION Olha Tsybulska (UA) Dear applicant, Welcome, welcome, welcome! If you are reading this now that hopefully means you are interested in what is waiting for you if you decide to join our Media Team in Dnipro. So countdown 5 minutes because I’m going to convince you to apply! What our Media Team is going to look like? I am aiming to gather a small but dedicated group of 4-5 Media Team Members and 1 Editorial Assistant in order to be able to provide each one of you with enough attention. The Editorial Team will be there to help you, answer all your questions, and do whatever it takes to ascertain that you can fulfill your learning objective. Therefore, it is crucial that you have one. You will have freedom to pick in what skills you want to excel and what things you want to concentrate on. I truly believe that every person has something valuable and special to bring from their background, so your opinion will be respected and appreciated. I am always going to be there to give you feedback, help, and support, not to force you to work on things that don’t spark joy in you. How can we make it work? The main challenge for any Regional Session is time – there is never enough of it. Even though we cannot control how much time we get, we can definitely make our best try to use it efficiently. For each member of our small group the Editorial Team will prepare individual training plan. I do believe that this will help you get the most of this session no matter how much experience you have now. This individual training program will be centred around your main learning objective and will result in a creation of a project - or projects - during the session. Sounds like much work? We will do our best to use preparation time in order to reduce stress caused by time pressure at the session itself, as well as to make sure you have enough free time to recharge, have fun, and collect your best memories that are not only related to Media Team and work. :) Should you apply if you have never been a Media Team Member before? Absolutely! This is the main point of providing you with individual training plans - so that you can get the most of it regardless the experience level that you have now.
A few more words to Editorial Assistant applicants: Hello dear friend and future colleague, If you also got inspired by the idea of helping our MTM reach the stars and fulfil their goals, please, apply and we will make that happen together. HEAD OF JURY VISION Mariette Peutz (NL) As outlined by the visions previously presented to you, Dnipro 2019 will revolve around inclusion. Our aim is to create an experience enjoyable for all participants, and especially for the delegates. This goal is crucial to keep in mind as the Jury. Within the Jury Team, inclusion means that everyone will be valued equally. All voices will be heard, and all communication within our own team and within the entire session will be open and transparent. I will see it as my personal mission to help you reach your personal development goals. Dnipro will be a space of self-reflection and awareness, creating growth. Given the short format of the session, we will get there in short and tangible steps. Dnipro 2019 will also be a safe space to learn. You, as the Jury Team, will be given enough freedom to explore, to help you learn knowledge about yourself, academics and EYP. I will also see it as my mission to ensure your wellbeing. The Jury will be a part of a unified Officials’ Team to help you truly enjoy all parts of the session, with all people involved. There will be no post-session observation submissions and no nightly or inefficient and everlasting meetings. We will assemble a diverse team that is motivated, so that we can actually realise the development I previously mentioned, and that is self-aware. Diversity in the team, both in experience and priorities when assessing delegates, will create more fruitful discussions and will benefit fairness. Hence, I will look forward to reading all of your applications! See you in Ukraine!
