Lanterne magiche
Lanterne magiche Inseguendo il vibrare delle particelle che segnano i tagli di luce che riescono a penetrare da fori e fessure, l’uomo ha sempre temuto e si è sempre stupito. A�onito, terrorizzato, immagato, ha percepito l’evento come fru�o del mistero. Tanto da perseguitare, inizialmente, quanti dimostravano di poterlo dominare e replicare. E quando divenne accessibile la descrizione scientifica di un apparato che poteva confermare il fenomeno affidando alla trasmissione delle vibrazioni addiri�ura dei segni riconoscibili, non si potrà che parlare di magia. La magica lucerna ovvero la lanterna magica esiste dal 1671. Cominciando sin da subito ad ammonire gli sce�ici sui benefici e sulle pene della vita eterna. Ma anche e sopra�u�o emozionando. Un’emozione che si replica ogni volta che, nel buio, le particelle vibranti pilotate, squarciano il buio, trasmutando i segni in fantasmagoriche visioni. Anche quando l’evento diviene possibile in casa, annullando ogni ipotesi di magia. Con lanterne fantasiosamente proge�ate, sempre più maneggevoli, sempre più festosamente gioca�oli. Utili ma anche belli da vedere. Quasi negando la loro funzione se il loro aspe�o esterno veniva adombrato dal buio, indispensabile alla percezione delle immagini. Ne furono prodo�e moltissime, di lanterne, negli anni, risultando spesso, addiri�ura, anonime. Ne esiste un certo numero nella collezione della FABBRICA DEL VEDERE. Qualcuna è anche rara. Qualcun’altra un po’ malconcia. Perché sono state usate e riusate ed ora testimoniano di un’epoca nella quale era ancora fondamentale stupirsi. Non come adesso che siamo bersagliati, penetrati, avvolti dalle immagini, che in molti casi hanno perso la loro materialità, il loro vibrare per particelle al seguito della propagazione della luce e che fanno molta più fatica ad emozionare, avendo perduto il senso del mistero, perfino nella carrozzeria delle apparecchiature che servono a renderle evidenti.
