01 - WOONBOOT VECHT Winter 2016 - Vecht - Netherlands
PROJECT INFO Year and Institute : Winter 2016, Marc Prosman Architecture, Amsterdam Duration and site location : 6 months, Vecht, Netherlands, Office project MAIN IDEAS The project consist of two family house-boats, located next to the small village called Nigtevecht. The owners, two couples having the same wishes to live on the water in a beautiful surrounding. They have bought a plot with an existing house boat in order to replace it by two new one. The visibility of the surrounding panorama and the privacy between the two boats define the open/- close facades. Two designs in one, this is how our team develop the idea of proportion. The sizes of the boats blend into the landscape in order to give an homogenous feeling. Therefor the two boats work as a separated entities as well as an organic and homogenous shapes.
The surrounding is mainly composed by polder shape through centuries by human hand. The road connecting the boats to the network is resting on a dike.

The Noord boot is organized differently due to its largest size. It is compose of two floor, integrating a master bedroom of 40 m2 on both floor with an internal void. The otherrooms include quality space such as a sauna or cinema room.
02 - SANTPOORT
Spring 2017 - Santpoort - Netherlands
PROJECT INFO Year and Institute : Spring 2017, Marc Prosman Architecture, Amsterdam Duration and site location : 1 month, Vecht, Netherlands, Office project MAIN IDEAS Located in Santpoort in a very green neighborhood, the goal of this extension was to release the beauty of the nature and merge it into the building. With different elements such as a new glass facade outlined by a natural wood cladding. The value of this new space gives an over view to the garden (South-West) and therefor create an interactivity with the outside.
03 - THE WAREHOUSE Fall 2016 - Amsterdam - Netherlands
PROJECT INFO Year and Institute : Fall 2016, Amsterdam Academie of Art, Master Architecture - 1st semester Duration and site location : 8 Weeks, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Individual project MAIN IDEAS After the immense changes in Amsterdam Noord during the 20th century, the area remained to be an industrial zone. We are now entering into a new ERA for this part of Amsterdam. It is a new opportunity to extend the city towards the north and therefore participate to the passive evolution of the city. Throughout the previous century, the landscape of the area went through several transformations, caused by changes in human needs. Nowadays, the area serves as an industrial field. There is a process of continuous transformations - the function of some of the old shipyard factories is now different - they are altered to living spaces.

04 - HORSENS MALL
Spring 2015 - Ă˜stjylland - Denmark
PROJECT INFO Year and Institute : Spring 2015, Via University College, Architectural Technology and Construction Management - 5th semester Duration and site location : 6 Weeks, Horsens center, Denmark, Individual project MAIN IDEAS In order to renew the social life in the city of Horsens, this supermarket nowadays unused, is opportunity for the development of the center. Indeed, located next to the main pedestrian street and close to the Community hall. This site can play the role of a meeting point for the inhabitants and with a response to environmental issues, creating a sustainable landscaping site. The building’s goal is that the inhabitant of Horsens and passing tourists, can appropriate public space freely. Thus, depending on the weather of course. These structures are rather designed for shopping, but can also be used at any time of day or night to relax in the integrated lounges, drinking a beer, talking or playing with your friends, listening to concerts for some events and many other things.
Horsens is located at the end of a beautiful fjord which can be viewed from the harbor. The fjord is the typical Danish kind with rolling hills and forests that stretches all the way down to the water. The city is 50 km south of Aarhus, 30 km north of Vejle and approximately 200 km from the capital Copenhagen. The new mall of Horsens will be located in the city center, in the surrounding of the pedestrian street. It’s a strategic point of the city, it is where the shops are growing and the amount of building constructions is rising. The city center needs spaces for the inhabitants in order to give a nice atmosphere and beautiful experiences for all the visitors in general. This public space will be a meeting point, with green area, parks and divers playground. Midjutland, Denmark 1/500 000
The old supermarket, nowadays unused, is plan to be removed in order to bring a new design to this area
First we though about starting from a normal block, like the previous building
Spliting in two part, to provide the same building’s width as the neighboorhood
Twisting : The twist movement is very interesting, because its shape give a feeling of something divided and
Cutting : We have cut some part to fit to the urban planning
To bring a modern design we had a normal danish pitch roof, seen everywhere
GROUND FLOOR - Shopping mall plaza
LEVEL -2 - Parking
LEVEL -1 - Shops
CORTEN STEEL Few designers speak extravagantly about concrete or gravel, but rusty steel, well, that’s another matter. The metal, especially a type called corten, has been coming up. Nowadays corten or weathering steel is typically used for landscaping and outdoor construction. It is made with alloys that cause its surface to develop a self-protecting rust when exposed to weather. ` As well as creating an aesthetic contrast, Corten steel was chosen because it is «a ‘living material that changes over the years, acquiring the patina that [the] test of time provides to noble materials. »
05 - DWELLINGS
Fall 2014 - Ă˜stjylland - Denmark
PROJECT INFO Year and Institute : Fall 2014, Via University College, Architectural Technology and Construction Management - 4th semester Duration and site location : 3 Months, Horsens surrounding, Denmark, group project MAIN IDEAS The architectural idea for the area of Sonderbrage is to keep the shape of a simple building. No extravagance for an easy construction for an easy place to live. The project took part of an interesting issue, how those buildings could match in a surrounding as old Danish buildings of 4 storeys. To solve this context, we act into two cases, one is to permit to the future inhabitant a cheap monthly rent and the second is being modern in an old neighborhood. Matching the cheap and modern was the topic. The surrounding is mainly composed of flats, some shops and one church located next to the project. In order to keep a similar look with the neighborhood, the idea is to build 4 storeys high house to get more sunlight. We can divided 48 apartments into 6 blocks by 4 floors in each of buildings.
Sustainable buildings means «buildings that last» as opposed to “ghost buildings” or “ephemeral buildings” The aim is to take into account the social, economic, environmental, local culture and people issues. Green building (or sustainable building) refers to a using process that is environmentally responsible and resource efficient troughout a building’s life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. This requires close cooperation of the design team, the architects, the engineers, and the clients at all project stages. The Green Building practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort. For example, through an architecture called “high environmental quality” we can considerate the working methods and sober transportation, building efficiency in terms of energy consumption and renewable natural resources.
PLAYGROUND In the middle of the buildings area we have 192 m2 public space for children and gives a common aspect for all of the inhabitants.
CAR PARKING Our house is located in the downtown area, directly facing the Main Street, and very convenient transport, we have one parking space and two for disabled people. That gives to the residents a total of 50 parking lots. Parking is well hidden under the green roof so that residents can have a good view outside of the buildings.
BARBECUE These structures contain barbecues, tables, benches, games. Thus, depending on the weather of course, you can go to grill your sausages and others.
ACCESS Our buildings have two access points to the site, one is for using from cars going directly to the car park and the other one is from the main street going through the playground till the green roof.
