NEW HOMEOWNERS CALL BACK THE PAST
Welcome Message from the NEW ESTATE MANAGER
Dear Residents,
I am delighted to introduce myself as your new Estate Manager, Luette Engelbreg. It is an honour to join your community, and I am eager to contribute to maintaining and enhancing the wonderful environment we share. By way of introduction, I bring 35 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry. My career began in the Hotel Industry before transitioning to the Timeshare sector, where I’ve spent the past 13 years managing homeowners at Mabula Game Lodge. My passion for people and creating exceptional experiences has been the cornerstone of my professional journey.
On a personal note, I am an avid lover of the outdoors and deeply drawn to nature’s beauty. Music is also a source of great joy for me. As a family-oriented person, I cherish spending quality time with loved ones. As we approach the festive season, I would like to take a moment to wish 5
each of you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful holiday. May this time be filled with celebration, rest, and cherished moments with family and friends.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, suggestions, or simply to say hello. I am excited to get to know each of you and collaborate in making our estate a place we are all proud to call home.
Warm regards and festive wishes,

It’s Wine Time! We were blessed with a beautiful evening to do our Wine Safari this year. The weather was perfect, the wine was flowing and all in all, it was another spectacular event.

Thanks to the generosity of Croydon Vineyard Estate residents and SOME effort from Wilma Bruynsteen, the raffle held on a gloriously sunny afternoon on 14 September in aid of Glen-Graze Sanctuary was a resounding success with a total of R8800.

apparent that they rescue cruelly treated and abandoned animals as a labour of love. But it’s an expensive labour of love – volunteers and donations are always welcome to help pay for the veterinary care, medication, and food.
If you want to see what they do, visit Glen-Graze Sanctuary, but be prepared to be shocked at what some people can do to animals!
The money raised was used to settle the outstanding bill at Gordon Road Veterinary Clinic on behalf of GlenGraze Sanctuary.
SECURITY TIPS FROM XONE
• Lock all windows and doors whenever you’re leaving the house, even for a short period
• Do not hide the house keys under the door mat, outside your house, or in the letter box.
• Never leave notes indicating that you are not home.
• Empty your letter box before embarking on a holiday.
• Do not leave valuables like your cell phone, computer/iPad, purse or cash (coins) in plain sight inside your vehicle.
• Fit Smash and Grab film/tint to your car windows at a reputable fitment centre.
• Be vigilant at busy traffic lights where there is a proliferation of vendors.
• At night, stick to the main routes, even if longer.
• Do not open windows to engage with vendors.
• Report any strange event. Don’t engage by yourself. Go to the guardhouse, and Xone officers will investigate.
• Do not put boxes from expensive purchases out in domestic waste – take them to a dump.
• Share these notes with guests and friends!

Centuries ago, people ONLY drank wine to quench their thirst. During that time, water was often contaminated –and natural fermentation, when the wine is made, could kill germs caused by typhi (salmonella) and cholera. And so they drank wine instead of water!
VISIT/MEETING REPORT SUMMARY
The vines at Croydon Vineyard Estate are healthy, with good leaf colour and ongoing growth, although vigour is generally low. Key recommendations include managing weeds, irrigation, and nutrition to sustain growth, alongside follow-up actions like selective pruning, suckering, and canopy adjustments. Soil compaction needs attention, with gypsum application and post-harvest soil ripping suggested. Labour efficiency remains critical due to its significant cost.
