We’ve had a fantastic season, with a record number of visitors. The golf course, in the best condition it’s ever been, was a major draw. The bar and restaurant also catered for more guests than before, and the positive feedback has been overwhelming. The great weather made the beach a popular spot, and the season concluded with a vibrant New Year’s celebration. Looking ahead, 2025 is off to a strong start, with many exciting projects planned. These include infrastructure upgrades and new amenities, all achievable within our existing resources.
With these improvements in the works, it looks like 2025 will be even bigger and better.
The focus on making the most of available resources demonstrates great efficiency and forward planning—this is truly an exciting time full of potential!

A Festive Season to Remember at Prince’s Grant
Well, the festive season may be over, but the memories are still fresh! We’ve had an absolute blast here at Prince’s Grant with a series of events that were nothing short of spectacular. From fun family activities to lively events for everyone, we’ve had more than enough to keep the energy flowing and the good times rolling. Here’s a recap of the highlights, along with a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the year ahead:
December: Where the Magic Happened
Our Kids Poolside Playground and PG Kids Zone & Crèche were practically buzzing with excitement this season. The real star of the show? The three daily Disney movie screenings—complete with a sweet and popcorn cart, of course. Kids were glued to the

were tapping your feet or dancing in the aisles (we saw you), the atmosphere in the Lodge Restaurant & Pub was electric.
Then, we had our Carols by Candlelight event at the 6th Dam, which was nothing short of magical. Picture this: families enjoying picnics, kids running wild, and the ever-talented Ruth Volker leading us in song. It was one of those moments that made you want to sit back, relax, and soak in the festive vibes.
Lodge Entertainment: Where the Fun
Never Stopped Friday Night Live and Friday Night Groove kept the place rocking with some top-notch music. Whether you
And let’s not forget the Quiz Night— packed to the brim with people ready to flex their knowledge muscles. The prizes were fantastic, and the energy was contagious. It’s events like these that remind us why Prince’s Grant is such a great place to be.
Seasonal Goodies & Surprises
The Pool Bar & Food Trailer quickly became the go-to spot for delicious snacks and ice-cold drinks! And for those looking to unwind, our
seasonal Spa Treatments were a hit—because let’s face it, who doesn’t want to take a moment and relax, or escape the festive chaos for a brief tranquil moment?
A Heartwarming Christmas Day
Christmas Day itself was filled with love and laughter. Our Christmas
Morning Church Service was packed—so much so that we had to keep pulling out more chairs!
Oh, and then there was The
Pressure Cooker —over 30 glazed gammon roasts were snatched up by homeowners on Christmas Eve. This one’s definitely going to become a yearly tradition, folks. It was a huge hit, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s edition!
It was awesome to see such a great turnout, and the spirit of togetherness really made the day special. The Christmas Lunch
Buffet was another highlight, with 155 guests enjoying a festive feast complete with all the trimmings.
The dining room was alive with laughter, cheers, and plenty of cracker jokes.
New Year’s Eve: Ending the Year in Style
To wrap up the season, we went big with the Prince’s Grant New Year’s Eve Bash on the beach. Partnered with Corona and Klipdrift, we threw an event that could’ve given Ibiza a run for its money. By midnight, we had about a thousand people ringing in the new year in style.
A Heartfelt Thank You
The bonfire was a hit, and it was amazing to see people of all ages celebrating together. We’re already brainstorming ideas for next year— trust us, we’ll be even better prepared (we’re thinking more bars to handle the crowd!).
Before we wrap this up, I want to take a moment to extend a massive thank you to our entire operational team. You all were absolutely incredible throughout the season. The extra hours, the teamwork, the effort you all put in— truly above and beyond. It was inspiring to see everyone supporting each other, and that spirit of collaboration made all the difference. A huge thanks as well to our residents and guests. Your support was everything! Whether you were here for the events or simply cheering us on, you showed up in full force, and that’s what makes Prince’s Grant so
special. Your energy and enthusiasm helped make this festive season unforgettable.
Looking Ahead to an Exciting Year
With the festive season behind us, we’re already gearing up for an action-packed year ahead. We’ve got some great events lined up, and we can’t wait to keep the energy high at Prince’s Grant. Stay tuned for more details, and let’s make 2025 even more unforgettable!
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead! Let’s keep the good times rolling and make plenty more memories at Prince’s Grant.

GOLF FIRSTQuarterly Report
Welcome to the Autumn Golf at Prince’s Grant!
April Holiday Golf Celebrations
Fresh from weeks of treatment and care, our golf course is looking better than ever. With great weather on the horizon, we're excited for the golfing events ahead. Upcoming Events:
- March 29: Monthly Medal
- March 30: Mixed Pairs
- April 9: "The Masters Eighteen Par 3's" Competition
As the April holiday period is always a busy time at PG with school holidays and multiple public holidays, and with our golf course in terrific condition, many club competitions will be announced. We are especially planning several afternoon junior and junior beginner opportunities as we grow the game with our youngest members. And now, you have a chance to play alongside and see some of the best South African amateurs play 72-hole at PG.
24 th Prince's Grant National Amateur
Invitational Sponsored by THIRSTI, May 12-14
Our primary sponsor, THIRSTI, has generously stepped up as our 2025 tournament title sponsor. Their support ensures that we can deliver this event to the highest standards.
This event is a PG hallmark, unique to the SA amateur golf calendar. Over the past two PGNAITs, so many amateurs have told us, “We would never miss the PGNAIT; it’s the best, it’s our favourite.” Yes, we are generously hospitable and famous for so, but your help goes a long way to making this the best tournament and event for our SA amateurs, including developmental status players and visiting African amateurs.
Members, here's how you can get involved:
● We invite you to play on Monday and attend that evening's very special PGNAIT tournament dinner. Your entry fee of R600 includes golf, a tournament shirt, competition fees, and dinner. A great day and evening, ending about 20:00. The golf competition is known as the “Hugh Baiocchi Celebrity Golf Day”—a four-ball alliance, members and amateurs forming a team.
● Additional PGNAIT2025 sponsorship support is welcomed and requested: Should you or your company wish to sponsor a prize, maybe a golf memorabilia such as a towel, tees, logo golf balls, or any product or idea of your choice.
● Hosting players for the PGNAIT. No other golf club does this, but we at PG always provide our players a home inside our gates during their 3-4 night PGNAIT stay (for those who need it). Please consider hosting a player, two or more. They just need a place to sleep, all meals are provided to them, and we keep them busy.
Sunday, May 16-18. What a week of golf!
The 100th playing—amazing! During the PGNAIT and KZN Open week, reciprocity at other public golf courses is generally granted to our members. We will be happy to support your golf needs during this period.
● And again, and another reason why we are so special as a golf club—the 100 th playing of the KZN Open Stroke Play will for the third year in a row be played at Prince’s Grant over three days immediately following the PGNAIT: Friday-
Finally, we are excited to announce a new event on the PG golf calendar. A special opportunity for members to invite friends, “a couple”, to come to PG and enjoy our hospitality and a weekend of friendly and challenging golf camaraderie. This tournament is being advertised nationally, to every golf union in SA.
