Our Story
Our story begins with the great entrepreneur and leader Apparecido dos Santos. Dentist and military man of humble origin, he founded, in 1987, the first private dental college in Brazil’s capital, Brasília. Initially, the institution was named Faculdade de Odontologia do Planalto Central (FOPLAC) and was located in Lago Sul, the region’s most upscale neighborhood.
Over the years, several other health, social and STEM science courses were created. Due to this accelerated growth, the institution invested and built a much larger campus in Gama, in the late 1990’s.

Gama is an administrative region of Distrito Federal, the federal unit where BrasĂlia is situated. The locality has more than 140 thousand inhabitants, has a consolidated commerce and is considered an economic hub to the neighboring cities. Over the years, our institution caused a big positive impact on the socio-economic status of the region. This fact is a consensus among public administrators and the community. Evolution of our brand
In 2008, we were already a consolidated institution with several courses and to mark this milestone, our brand shifted from FOPLAC to Faculdades Integradas da União Educacional do Planalto Central (FACIPLAC). Ten years later, in 2018, we were awarded with a higher credential in the Ministry of Education (MEC) and became Centro Universitário do Planalto Central Apparecido dos Santos (UNICEPLAC). In that same year, our visual identity was reformulated and we launched a new logo. UNICEPLAC is now branded as the institution that always evolves with the conviction that education is the best way to transform and improve people’s lives. We strive to be a reference of higher education in Brazil.
Currently, the institution has more than six thousand students, 26 undergraduate courses and one specialization in higher education management. Our excellence is attested by the Ministry of Education (MEC) with grade 5, the maximum score, in both distance and face-to-face learning. We believe that the main driver of this succes is the investment in our people, which includes the continous training we offer for teachers and employees.

Vision To be a role model of academic excellence, focusing on an interdisciplinary formation, entrepreneurship, citizenship and professionalism of our students. We work with highly qualified professionals, adequate infrastructure, critical and student-based pedagogical methodologies to contribute to the the sustainable development of the region and the country.
Infrastructure
UNICEPLAC’s campus occupies an area of 92 thousand square meters, which is one of the best educational structure in the region. The facilities were designed to be student-centered and to ensure comfort. The library, for example, brings together spaces that allow the social integration of the students. Innovation is also a priority. A hallmark is the state of the art realistic simulation labs for health courses.
With capacity for 700 people, our auditorium offers space and comfort.
Social Responsability Programs
We are committed to solidarity and the promotion of citizenship. In order to improve the life of the community, we carry out social responsibility programs in several areas.
Dental Clinic The campus has a modern dental clinic with capacity for 100 concurrent services, with free dental care for adults and children. The services are provided by Dentistry students, under supervision of professors. The clinic plays an important role to assist the community, while also training our future professionals.
Veterinary Hospital Our Veterinary Hospital has cutting edge technology and is of great value to the community. Attendance and procedures are available, qualified and low cost for animals of all sizes.
Income Tax Project
Computer Classes for the Elderly
In Brazil, taxpayers have to declare their annual income to the tax authorities. Generally, this document is prepared by accounting firms or contracted accountants. In this project, Accounting students provide the service to community members in the filing of their income tax returns.
The Information Systems students provide computer classes for seniors and teache them how to use social networks. This project aims to assist with inclusion of the elderly among family and community.
Legal Advice Centre
Healthy Campus Labor gymnastics is provided by Physical Education students. With the objective of enhancing the life quality of the participants, they perform activities such as functional exercises, stretching and different sports modalities.
The law course provides free advocacy services to the community.
Nutrition monitoring The Nutrition school serves the internal public of the university and the community. The students and professors evaluate the patients and set up a food schedule, based on the individual’s biotype and goals.
