Lighten Up!

I moved to Texas from the Washington, D.C. area just a few months after I joined FA in 2009. Over the years, I have stayed in touch by phone with many of the fellows I met in the D.C. fellowship. One winter morning, I called a D.C. fellow who was preparing for a predicted winter storm. A month earlier, a storm had caused widespread power outages in her area. Anticipating the possibility of another outage, the fellow was busy getting some weighed and measured meals ready and preparing a cooler in case she lost power. We talked about how grateful she was that recovery has helped her plan ahead to protect her abstinence. I asked her how much snow was expected. She replied, “Six ounces.” After I pointed out the slip of tongue, we both had a good laugh!
