ANNUAL REPORT ON PHILANTHROPY
Letter from Head of School Dear French International Community, Welcome to this year’s Annual Report on Philanthropy. This publication celebrates the incredible generosity of everyone who gave their time, treasures, and talents to continue to deliver impactful learning opportunities to our students during the 2022-23 school year. This school year was about building community and uniting our school under one name and vision. We introduced a new mission, name, visual identity, and strategic plan. We invested in experiences for our students to enhance their education and open their minds to the world. Fifth, seventh, and eighth graders traveled the world on the first international trips since 2019. We had a full year of events with the largest Fête du Vin and Annual Gala in school history. It was incredible to celebrate our school community and raise important funds to support financial aid. Your support helps prepare students to engage with inclusivity, achieve with integrity, and excel with distinction. It continues to be the generosity of all of you— our parents, trustees, faculty and staff, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, and friends—that enables us to deliver our robust and immersive multilingual curriculum in creative and innovative ways. I look forward to our future together as we embark on a new Capital Campaign and I am truly thankful to be a part of this amazing and dedicated community. Warm Regards,
Scott Hardister, Head of School

Letter from Development Dear French International Community, As the Development Team, we are continually blown away by the hard work, dedication, and generosity of the entire French International community. The parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumni, alumni families, and friends of French International continue to make the school a warm and welcoming environment! Over the past year, the school unveiled a new Strategic Plan, alongside a new unified identity. While the school name and visual identity has changed, our core values remain the same. Our community’s unwavering support provides students with diverse experiences and empowers them to be curious, think critically, challenge assumptions, and develop a love for learning. Because of the community’s continued dedication to volunteering and generous contributions towards the Annual Fund, we can provide unique experiences and support the dreams and ambitions of our students. Events like Fête du Vin (in person for the first time in three years) and the Annual Gala were the largest they’ve ever been, ensuring our ability to invest in financial aid at French International.

2023
ANNUAL GALA The French International community came together to celebrate the 35th Annual Gala—Le Jardin des Rêves—at the Nines Hotel on April 29, 2023. Over 300 guests attended this enchanted evening of philanthropy, making it the largest Gala in French International history! Le Jardin des Rêves, or Garden of Dreams, was a celebration of the dreams of our students, our dreams for them, and the dreams for the future of French International. Guests donned their finest florals to bid on student art and a wide variety of silent auction items. The live auction featured everything from a year-long spa membership, a private tour of the Timbers stadium, and even party entertainment from teacher Dave! Guests and bidders raised over $253,000 in support of financial aid at French International. This event was a community effort. From cake pops provided by parent Mimie Davies, to parent and DJ Rex Morgan spinning tunes at the afterparty, to Madame Fortuna (aka parent Caselle LaTourette) reading palms, the success of the night was only possible through the generosity of our community. A special thank you to all of the families and friends of French International who generously donated items for the live and silent auction. Finally, thank you to the Gala committee, chaired by Vanessa Calvert and Danielle Hosmer, for their time and dedication. We could not do it without you!

Special Appeal Donors FINANCIAL AID 2022 - 2023
As part of the “People” pillar of our strategic plan, we strive to broaden access to French International to further enrich our school culture and cultivate a sense of belonging for all members of our community. Having a diverse range of backgrounds among families leads to a variety of perspectives, enriching the learning experience for everyone. This year and in years to come, all proceeds from the Gala, including the Special Appeal, will support financial aid. Part of our mission is to foster an inclusive community and we believe tuition should not be a barrier to anyone who wants to access a French International education. Our investment in financial aid has grown 78% over the last five years. Currently, 17% of our families benefit from financial aid. This year’s Special Appeal for financial aid raised over $122,000!
