2019 is supposed to be my big year to achieve all of my weight loss goals, just like 2018, just like 2017, just like 2016…. You get my drift! Losing weight has to be the most repeated new years resolution of all time and no matter how many times a person falls short of losing weight, they jump back on the weight loss bandwagon. I have fallen victim to the rollercoaster of beginning on a weight loss journey, being derailed and then waiting for a Monday to start fresh! But this year that will not be my story. The biggest lesson I have learned from all of those years or failing at losing weight was that consistent small progress still yields great results in the long run. If I focused on creating “healthier habits” instead of just drastically changing my entire life and throwing out my entire refrigerator I would have been able to make lasting changes to my lifestyle. This year I have a completely different plan, I am aiming for lifestyle change. For each of the remaining 51 weeks of 2019, I plan to introduce a healthy habit into my lifestyle. I want you to take this journey with me, whether you have a little bit of weight to lose or a lot of weight. Let’s get healthier in 2019. Here is what my plans are for the next 4 weeks: Week 1: Drink 3L of water daily. Week 2: Do some form of physical activity for 30 minutes 3x’s a week. Week 3: Eat 5 salads every week. Week 4: Reduce added sugar by 50% This is going to be an incredible journey for all of us, I hope that you decide to get fit with me in 2019. Make sure you check out February’s edition of Faith Over Fear Magazine for our 1st update!!

FAMILY
GOD’s ORIGINAL Kiethra Morley
How can families move from defeat to living in God's original plan for their lives? We know that it’s the devil's job to kill, steal and destroy and now more than ever he has gone after the families. Fathers have walked out the door of their homes, mothers are consumed working multiple jobs, children are being rebellious. The devil is reeking havoc in our homes. So how can families move from defeat to living in God’s original plan for their lives? In order for that to happen we have to go to the blueprint and that is God's word. In Genesis 1:27-28 God gave Adam and Eve a mandate to subdue multiply and have dominion in the Earth. As I sit here planning my 2019 and trying to figure out how I can create a plan for my family to go from living in separate homes to being together once again, I had to make a decision and Trust God with every area of my life including the area of my family. Often times we neglect to put our families' goals into our planning and won-

der why it's so easy for the enemy to turn our homes into battlefields. A lesson I learnt the hard way in 2018. I asked God several questions in my quest to find out how can we move from living a life of defeat to going to His original plan. I asked Him what was the original plan for the family? How did He want the family to function here in the earth? What is my role in my family? Then, I allowed God to give me the answers. I wanted to demolish any notion I had in my mind so that I can fully receive what He would say to me. In Genesis 1:28 God told Adam and Eve to multiply, subdue and have Dominion over everything in the earth. He gave them the responsibility to take care of the garden he had given them, he also gave them the power to rule over every living thing in it. I believe God's original plan all these years later is still for us multiply and have dominion in the earth that is God's original will for the family and it's not his will for us to be living broken, apart from our families or defeated. Time out for the devil using our homes as his playground God wants us to take back everything that the devil stole from us including our families.
PLAN FOR THE
MILY The Role Of The Wife
God created Adam and from his rib he created Eve Genesis 2:18 States It is not good for man too be alone I will make him a help meet. In this scripture we automatically see the role of a woman. It is a woman's roll to be the help meet to her husband. What is a help meet? In my opinion it’s to help our husbands, our priest and the head of our households to accomplish the goals that he has put in place for our family. Often though, we take our ‘independent woman’ mindset into our marriages and we lead instead of following our husbands thus creating grounds for friction. 3 ways to get our families back on track The only Spirit gave me three ways we can get our families back.
1.
Our families must put God first in every
area of our lives. For too long we have neglected and run from our source which is God. I believe once families put God first we will move in ways we could have never imagined. We will be able to function the way that he has originally desired for us to function. This is one of the ways that the Holy Spirit told me I will get my family back.
2. Trust God in every area of our lives including our finances, parenting our children, our relationship with our spouse and even our jobs. We should trust God because God already has the blueprint. He already knows the beginning and the end so why not trust God and allow Him to lead us.
3.
Take Dominion! For me this means
taking care of what God has given us. That can be our homes, our children even or our pets. We should not be walking the earth defeated, living in lack, miserable or arguing back and forth. Dominion should start in our homes and if it does we will be able to take it on our jobs, in our schools and community thus creating real change. Repositioning our families from defeat to living a victorious life will not happen over night, it will not be easy. I truly believe if we put God back in the center of it all, we will see a tremendous change.

As we embark on this journey for the remainder of the year, let us never underestimate the importance of our faith to the future God is showing us. Wisdom from a ten year entrepreneurial journey
2008 Keshelle was at a cross roads. She had just read the book “You Squared” by Price Pritchett which taught her about two risks. The risk of staying small and not fulfilling what it is that you were born to fulfill and the risk of going after what it is that you want and of course not achieving it. She looked at each path and decided that the latter was far more appealing and left her “good government job” to take the leap into entrepreneurship Keshelle recently celebrated her tenth year in entrepreneurship and through all the rocky roads, broke days, sleepless nights, feeling stuck or unsure of the next step she says she knew God was confirming and ordering her steps. Opening doors and providing favor. “I think the majority of my journey over these past 10 years was more that than anything else, And overall it was and has been a very rewarding 10 year journey. I do not regret. I've never regretted it, to be honest with you. Even the difficult times. It really just has taught me so much about the process and that's why I'm so passionate about entrepreneurship and helping people who have that desire.” Though some may see it as a negative quality Keshelle credits her stubbornness as the quality that caused her not to give up on her entrepreneurial career. During her first year in business her car was repossessed three times. She said, “That was a very difficult year for me, but I never regretted leaving. I never looked at it from a point of wanting to give up. But it was really a defining year, difficult yes, but defining.” As a mentor, corporate trainer and entrepreneur coach, Keshelle credits mentorship and faith as her two most potent principles. “There were two women in particular that provided emotional support when I first started as an entrepreneur and since then mentorship was a huge part of the game. Until this very day, I could not have been or gone or go where I am going without the power of mentorship. I invest heavily into mentorship.” Her advice is to never do entrepreneurship alone. If not a mentor then she suggests a coach, mastermind class, community or simply to surround yourself with like-minded people. “Entrepreneurship is not an easy game to play. It can
mess with your mind. It can mess with your heart, soul, and even your body. It can stress you out if you're not in the right frame of mind if you don’t have the right guidance and mentorship, so find a mentor.” As for the principle of faith. Keshelle says faith is not limited to belief in God. “…but it's a lso a belief in yourself. I tell people all the time I have crazy faith. I have ferocious faith. I operate by faith and it's never failed me. Even the times when I felt I operated in faith and the result didn't work out as I initially planned. There was always, looking back, a purpose towards that action.” Now you may have read this story and become inspired to take the leap. You may even be wondering “how do I know when it's time to leave my day job?” Well Keshelle says you will just know! “You always know. It's called a knowing. The Holy Spirit would speak to you. Personally, I always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and He always tells. And there is no better way I can explain that. If it's something calling you, you owe it to yourself to step out in faith and do it. Listen for that knowing because there's always the right time.” The flipside of it is, while some may feel that it is the right time, they may feel that it may not be the perfect time. It’s human nature to want all your ducks lined in a row. But Keshelle says, “It will never be a perfect situation. When I left my job, I knew it was time for me to leave, but it wasn’t a perfect time. I was a single mother. I had no savings in the bank. You know, I still hadn't gotten clear on this business plan. It was just a passion at the time and so it wasn't a perfect time. People tend to wait till “I have money saved or I have this or wait till my children are grown.” There will never be a perfect time. And that's where faith kicks in, when you just believe and you know you heard the Spirit of God. You know it's time for you to leave because you are really believing in His steps. So don't wait for a perfect time to start. Start!”
stay tuned and see what is coming down the pipeline. I do have some new programs, new things coming out, but I will keep them under wraps until I announce them.
What fear are you overcoming in 2019? That’s such an interesting question.
What can we expect to see from you or what is next for Keshelle? You know, people always ask me this question. Always! I never know what to say, especially during January because January is that month where I’m still fasting. So while I have my plans and I’ve spoken to three out of my four coaches, who are kind of there to guide me and mentor me to my next level; I always say that I don't know. I will say this, though, when my pastor Apostle Valentino Williams talked about the year being the year of repositioning, I had to go up to him and say to him that it was a confirmation, because all of fall of 2018, that is the word that was coming to me. Reposition. It’s time to reposition. It’s time to reposition my brand. It’s time to reposition my products and services. It’s time to reposition my impact and the location of my impact. And so for me, all I can say in terms of what's next is you’re going to see a lot of repositioning. A lot of new programs or maybe older programs re-positioned, reinvented or packaged/ re-framed in a different way. I'm always mindful of also allowing the Lord to lead. I definitely will keep on the path that I've been on the last 10 years, which is to empower, inspire, impact, to transform peoples’ lives. That's my purpose. So whatever I do it's always connected to that mission. So you just got to
I had a call with my coach just yesterday and I was telling her my fear and again I'm not a person to have fears per say. I pretty much acknowledge them quickly and overcome them. But you know every level that you are aspiring to go to, you’re going to have fear, because fear is really just an emotion and a belief. There's new beliefs or thoughts around something that you're doing new. And for me, I totally acknowledged my fear with my coach yesterday and that really is, building a team. Although I’ve had team members over the last several years, I am at a place where I am talking with both of my coaches, well all of them, about team building. I am expanding my business and growing it in a way where I definitely cannot do everything alone anymore. I've had team members but my coaches and I are now talking about really developing my leadership skills even more to manage a team of people in order to accomplish things that I’ve written down. My coach said to me ‘Keshelle the things that you plan for 2019, you cannot do it alone and you cannot do it in the way that you've been doing it.’ Although I’ve reached a level of success and I've reached my six-figure goal. I’ve done all of that
the fear and they don’t allow that to stop them. They recognize it, they acknowledge it for what it is and they take the steps to overcome that fear, whatever it is. For me it's bringing on coaches to walk me through and guide me through a particular journey. I'm never going to allow myself to be frozen or to become stuck because of fear. And I think that's the difference between persons who ‘want’ to go after their dreams and don't achieve them. They allow fear to talk them into not doing it. but it was predominantly myself and a part-time, maybe two part-time people. Now it's definitely time to make a great investment in a team. Now my fear has been managing people. I am looking to bring someone on fulltime. I've identified the person. For me taking on someone's full-time salary and managing the process is something that I'm working through with my coach. From a personal standpoint, my goal is to run a marathon this year. That’s something I have never done. I've been a runner for a couple years but I've never done that, so I'm fearful about what it takes to get to that level
from a physical standpoint. Basically the discipline of eating right and being consistent with exercise and all that stuff. So I brought on a coach to help me. As you can see, I speak a lot about coaches and mentorship because I think it's huge when it comes to success. You know the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people recognize

FINANCES
An opportunity for your destiny Its 2019; a new year has come. The new year always brings a mix of emotions. For some it brings sadness as they think about 2018 and all that they were not able to accomplish, for some it brings fear as they look at the uncertainty of what the next year will bring, and yet for some it brings excitement as they dream about the potential of the next year. The new year is a time for major decisions to be made. Decisions that may alter the course of your life and destiny. Its a time to pray, its a time to make strategies, and its a time to put plans in motion that will help you accomplish what is needed for your future. There are 4 major categories in every believer's life that must be planned for in order to have a prosperous and successful year. 1) Health 2) Family
3) Faith 4) Finances
The purpose of this article is to motivate you to plan your finances for this year. We all have many goals and aspirations we look to accomplish in life. An important factor in the manifestation of many goals is finances. We need finances in order to make many of our dreams and visions come to life. How you handle your finances in life may determine to level of opportunity that is available to you. Opportunities are only for those who are ready and prepared. I once had a boss who told me how his family became millionaires. His father was a humble taxi driver who had an abnormal ability to save money. During the tourism boom in the 70's and 80's, everyone in the tourism industry made a lot of money, especially taxi drivers. Some people decided to live riotous lives with this new influx of finances and spend their money on
things that could only provide temporary pleasure. His father decided to go against the grain and save his money. After years of saving they were in a position where they could make a family investment that would change the course of their lives. They bought an old dying business that the previous owner just wanted to get rid of. Miraculously, shortly after that time a large corporate company wanted to acquire ownership of this company they had just bought. Opportunity came knocking at the door. Being first generation business owners the first inclination would be to sell the business for a profit and be happy with the money you received. But with great wisdom they told this large corporation that they would only sell this business if the got shares in the corporation and the ability to buy more. The corporation agreed to these terms and this family continued to buy shares until they became millionaires. This story was important for you to hear because this story is the model of how financial breakthroughs happen.
"Opportunities are only for those who are ready and prepared". They were prepared for the opportunity by saving money over a number of years, and they were ready for the opportunity because their mind-set was not to get a quick buck but for long term wealth creation. As we go throughout life lets make up our minds that we will be ready for the opportunity when it comes and be prepared for the opportunity by our plans.
Here is how we can position ourselves for opportunity in 2019:
1.
Commit yourself to being the best
worker you can be on your job
2.
Start a savings plan and commit to it
3.
Decrease your debt and wasteful ex-
penses
4.
Increase your knowledge in the area for
which your are looking for an opportunity
5.
Most importantly look for opportunities
relentlessly until you find them
2019 will be jammed packed with opportunities and breakthroughs, but it will only be for those who are ready and prepared.
EVENT HIGHLIGHT
Nassau Night Markets (NNM) is the brain child of Brandon Kemp; a young entrepreneur with a passion for development through business. NNM takes place every Saturday from 6pm to midnight on Market Slope, Downtown, which is the street directly east of the straw market. The street festival styled event features artisans, jewelry makers, artists, and other unique products. Brandon said, “We take that small little street and fill it with life, music, flavours, and activities.” Adding that his hope is that NNM will become “a microcosm of the black triangle of the Bahamian flag.” As the event sits just a few paces away from the cruise port it’s Brandon’s hope that visitors receive a small taste of the different flavours, music, styles of art and games that Bahamians love. “We also want our visitors to see the value of good family-friendly fun. The NNM is that small pocket of downtown nightlife where parents can comfortably bring their children, knowing that they won’t be exposed to anything detrimental.” Here’s more from our candid convo with the entrepreneur. What was the inspiration behind Nassau Night Markets (N.N.M)
> During my time serving as a missionary on board the Logos Hope, I had the chance to travel to 32 different countries, and in each place I found golden nuggets of ideas that I could bring to The Bahamas. The inspiration for the Nassau Night Market came from the night markets of Taiwan. The diversity of food and drinks you could find there brought crowds in the thousands to patronize. Coming back home and seeing the quietness of Downtown after 6pm was an issue that I believed the night market concept could solve. Did you face any fear when launching this venture? If so, how did you conquer it?
>Doing business anywhere comes with a lot of risks. Before starting the Nassau Night Market, we were running a Junkanoo themed restaurant for nearly 3 months without success. Making the decision to start the Nassau Night Market seemed to come with even more risks. However, I truly believe that God has been a part of everything I’ve done since I first started giving Him control over my life. Even when things were failing, I saw that it was because they were being pushed out of the
way to clear the path for something even better. When the path seemed dark, when we were getting a lot of pushback and things didn’t seem like they were going to work out, my team would come together and hand over our problems to God. What advice would you give to young Bahamian entrepreneurs.
>There are two key factors that I can credit most of my success to. The first may sound a bit cliché, but really putting God at the center of it all. In the beginning, we weren’t being as intentional as we should have been with putting God at the center. Immediately, we saw that when we started praying in the mornings before getting any work done, we saw God move in miraculous ways. If we would slip up and forget to keep God in the mix of things, we would feel that too. Praying, not panicking, basing your business decisions on biblical principals, and giving God the credit when it’s due are all key to success. The second advice is to be persistent. I feel like many of us tend to have this “get rich quick” mentality. We think that if things aren’t making big bucks from day one, then it’s failing. It wasn’t until Friday, January
4th, that we saw our first profit. That’s nearly 4 months since we began our first event at Junkanoo World. If you believe in and are passionate about your product, don’t give up. If that means you eat plain rice for half the year or work two jobs to make it through the week, then do it. I started a cookie catering company just to keep food on the table while we were trying to pursue these other dreams. Have you faced any challenges since launching the business? If so, how did you handle them?
>I believe that the biggest challenges have come when people I have depended on didn’t meet expectations. Logistically, the Nassau Night Market does rely on many outside sources to function, and we had a time where we were told we didn’t have the authorization to operate the event just two days before our launch. It’s times like those when, for a moment, it looks like it was all for nothing, that you came this far just to be shut down over something as simple as someone not wanting to put in the effort. But it’s times like those when I had to remind myself that we weren’t doing this alone, and that God wouldn’t bring us this far just to have us shut down over something petty. Another important factor in getting over our challenges has always been the support of other people. I often have the expectation that everyone else that’s involved in the Nassau Night Market has my vision of where we want this event to go. So, when they do things that contradict the path we’re trying to follow, it feels a bit betraying. I had to remind myself not to take things personally and have patience with those that may not be doing things my way. What do you envision for the future of N.N.M?
>I think that God has great things in mind for the future of the NNM. I don’t want to say it all and ruin the surprise, but we believe that the NNM will one day go beyond just Saturday nights on Market Slope, to lighting up all the dark alleys of the downtown area.
