Reconstruction of the House of Parliament FAKOM designs the Geodesic dome of the House of Parliament
Within reconstruction and extension of the House of Parliament of Republic of Macedonia, in its central part construction of more administrative facilities in function of the Parliament are planed as well the assembly hall for representative purposes. That what is interesting in the reconstruction is the assembly hall for representative purposes, which is completely made in steel structure with a circular shape and basically consist of floors and roof construction type geodesic dome. This type of roof structure is built for the first time in Macedonia. Concerning the geodesic dome, its dating to the time after World War II and is the work of the American engineer, thinker and innovator Buckminster Fuller. The geometric structure of the geodesic dome is actually icosahedrons, one of the five Platonic ideal geometric solids with 20 identical isosceles triangles as sides.
