HELLO
Welcome to the 2016 Falmouth University Fal River Festival. Now in its 11th year, the festival celebrates life on and around the Fal River and really showcases this amazing part of Cornwall. Once again the Fal River Festival has a wide variety of activities that really do cater for all ages and interests including established favourites such as Film on the Ferry and the St Mawes Jazz on the Quay. Everything you need to know to enjoy the Festival is in this programme, including a daily overview of the top events on pages 4 and 5, plus some tips on how to get to each event. If you need any further information including maps, ferry tickets and Mussel Cards, just call into the Fal River Visitor Information Centre on the Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth.

FILM ON THE FERRY: THE PERFECT STORM (12)
ÂŁ9 Adult / ÂŁ7 Children (16 and under) Brought to you by The King Harry Ferry and Skylight Cinema, this is your chance to enjoy classic films on a truly unique stage. Come and enjoy the event with light refreshments on board from the Thirstea Company as we float the ferry out to the middle of the river for the film to begin. In October 1991, a confluence of weather conditions combined to form a killer storm in the North Atlantic. Caught in the storm was the sword-fishing boat Andrea Gail. Magnificent foreshadowing and anticipation fill this true-life drama while minute details of the fishing boats, their gear and the weather are juxtaposed with the sea adventure. Tickets at: www.falriverfestival.co.uk *Gale force winds are the only factor that might stop this event going ahead. King Harry Ferry.
