SCOTT WOYKA FURNITURE OPEN STUDIO “Ria” is the latest offering from the “Woykshop” celebrating our river and looking at it from a new perspective; a sculptural piece of art furniture which promises to be thoroughly practical too. We hope you can come and see it. Arriving in Falmouth 24 years ago and looking out over the Carrick Roads I was totally smitten and decided then I must live here. The combination of the stunning estuary views, the constant activity of leisure and commercial craft and the ever changing conditions provide constant stimulation. This year we have been looking back in time at the formation of the Fal estuary, and what makes this place so special and famous. Falmouth and the Carrick Roads are known as the third deepest natural harbour in the world, and it is this that has made Falmouth what it is today. www.scottwoyka.co.uk /scottwoykafurniture

KERNOW KING’S GREATEST HITS ON THE KING HARRY FERRY £15 Advance / Door
Join us for a night of laughs as KK transforms the King Harry Ferry into a unique floating stage for one unmissable night to perform his Greatest Hits! It’s hard to believe that the Kernow King has been touring Cornwall and beyond for over six years with three smash hit shows- “Wonders of the Cornish Universe”, “Splann!” and “Minority Rapport”. Not to mention two
Christmas shows and the award winning “Trevithick!”. Taking in glorious sights such Sydney, Glastonbury, Adelaide, Manchester, London (Apprentice), Roche and many more villages, towns and cities in between. All
have welcomed the humble King into their communities. But now the time has come to rap up the last six years of performing, and what better way to do it than to tour our fair nation of Cornwall with Kernow King’s “Greatest Hits”. “We’ve had some good nights, eh?” says the King, “and some less good ones”. MITCH BENN: DON’T FEAR THE REAPER £14
It’s been a morbid time for “the country’s leading musical satirist” (The Times); he’s turned 46 - over the hill by anyone’s standards - his personal life is in turmoil, and his childhood heroes are dropping like flies. At times like these, a man feels the Reaper creeping up on him But is death anything to fear? And is it really the end? (Yes. Yes, it is, sorry!) Mitch confronts his - and YOUR - mortality with hilarious (and tuneful) consequences. Join him! It’s time you’re not getting back! 01326 319461 www.thepoly.org

Alongside traditional shanties, Du Hag Owr write and perform their own original compositions, which reflect their view of the sea and those who work upon it. Rum and Shrub Shantymen Rum and Shrub Shantymen are a group of traditional singers from Cornwall with a worldwide reputation for lively singing of shanties, sea songs and folk songs. Performing together as a group since 1991, they take their name from a well-known local drink reputed to have been enjoyed by smugglers.
Fisherman’s Friends arrive for the first time at Trebah with a “full catch” of new material along with their old favourites. The Fisherman’s Friends from Port Isaac have warmed the hearts of visitors and locals with their traditional songs of Cornwall, handed down to them by their forefathers. 01326 252200 www.trebahgarden.co.uk

FIND THE TIME Normal admission applies National Trust Trelissick is shedding light on its history, with a sequence of exhibitions in the house. Find The time is the story of Trelissick told through sixteen beautiful craft objects, each inscribed with a piece of its history for visitors to see, handle and play with. The exhibition starts in the 1750s when landowner, John Lawrance, converted the original farmhouse into a villa, and ends in 1955 when former MP, Ida Copeland, gifted the estate to the National Trust. Trelissick families have made and lost fortunes, managed the land, sailed the sea, fought Fascism and championed Cornwall. The artworks have been made from natural materials to celebrate Trelissick’s love of the countryside.
