01_ After party of Sunflower Movement in Taiwan
Sunflower Movement is the largest student movement in Taiwan since the Wild Lily Movement in 1990. In 2014, from March 18 to April 10, hundred of student broke into the Taiwan Legistlative Yuan (equivalent to
the
US
Capitol)
while
thousands
joined in support outside the building. This was a protest to the Cross-Strait Service Trade Agreement (CSSTA) that was passed by the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT). While there are many reasons that this movement gained support, the outcome of this party gave rise to a new generation of Taiwanese youth
that
cared
more
about
Taiwan.
Taiwan is not sitting out this global wave of open government. Many civil society organizations in Taiwan have long been advocating open data, citizen participation, and public-private collaboration. However, not until the 2014 Sunflower Movement was these topics discussed together in the context of open government. The Sunflower Movement stormed Taiwan and raised citizens’ awareness of government transparency and openness. Open government is a duty not solely borne by the government but by every citizen as well. Only when the value of openness truly takes root in people’s mind will the mission of the movement be accomplished..

brought a bunch of engineers onto the public communication stage. They
used their tech & design capabilities to build up a Government Information Transparency System, which allowed the public could take a glimpse of the policy process.
AMATEUR POLITICIANs The second impact lay in the rise of new political power. The political work had no longer a hereditary dictatorship. People
with different backgrounds could enter into the narrow gate such as Audrey
Tang, a transgender engineer, who could hold the post of Digital Minister.
INCLUSIVE SOCIETY Some pundits thought that the Open
Government movement made Taiwan
an inclusive society. An iconic event was that Taiwan became the first country that pass the legislation of same-sex marriage.

Atypical Participants influence Taiwan's Political Landscape The Ebb And Flow Of The Stakeholder Ecosystem From 2000 to 2021, the landscape of political stakeholders faced a gigantic transition. Some traditional institutes, such as policy parties and traditional media, were losing their political impact. On the other hand, social media, and open data communities had brought some amateurs onto the spotlight.

If The OGD Movement Could Promote More Civic Engagement, The Social Issues Would Be Responded By The Public. The atypical stakeholders, social media, and open data communities kept positive perspectives on OGD’s social impact. With a decent valueadded process, the open data can create not only commercial value but also social influence.

Ma blames 2014 Sunflower Movement for worsened cross-strait relations TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) announced Wednesday (May 20) that Taiwanese Digital Minister Audrey Tang will join U.S. officials in a discussion on open government solutions and global anti-corruption efforts Thursday evening (May 20). The de facto U.S. embassy added that the meeting, which is hosted by the Open Government Partnership, will also cover the role of technology in supporting information transparency, deepening public-private collaboration, and strengthening civil society and media efforts to achieve accountability for corruption. Last October, Taiwan’s National Development Council announced that it would launch a national open government initiative in 2021. In addition to working towards open data, the plan will also expand public participation mechanisms and promote good governance.civil society to advance open government solutions to public policy challenges at home and support anti-corruption efforts globally.” Social Issue
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A court recently ruled in favor of allowing a gay couple to adopt a little girl, marking the first time a same-sex couple has legally adopted an unrelated child in Taiwan.
Same-sex couple becomes 1st in Taiwan to legally adopt child Although same-sex marriage became legal in May 2019, there are still some differences in terms of adoption rights. According to current adoption regulations, any individual can adopt a child who is not biologically related to them, but a married same-sex couple cannot. Instead, a spouse in a same-sex marriage can only adopt the biological child of their partner.

Han Kuo-yu is back and KMT power players need
12
On Jan. 2, ex-Kaohsiung mayor and former Kuomintang (KMT) presidential candidate Daniel Han Kuo-yu held a book release rally in Taipei’s Daan Park that reportedly attracted over 10,000 ardent fans and announced he is launching a new foundation devoted to charitable works. No major KMT political figures showed up, but Han said they weren’t invited — and they almost certainly weren’t. At the rally, Han was positive, expansive, cheerful, humorous, well-rested, and energetic. And that should make the power players in the KMT extremely nervous.
After a stunning rise to political stardom, Han came crashing back to earth in June of 2020 when the voters of Kaohsiung kicked him out of the mayor's office in a stunningly successful recall. For a politician that had led the KMT to an impressive set of victories in the 2018 local elections, including the seemingly unwinnable mayorship of Kaohsiung, and then rising to become the party’s presidential candidate, it finally seemed his political career was over.

02_ Digital Transformation for Sunset Industry
In the first half of 2020, I was designated to undertake a government project when I worked at the Taiwan Institution for Economic Research. This project aimed to figure out the digital transformation(DT) of the Textile industry’s weaknesses and propose accordingly strategies. As a research team manager, I cooperated with the” alpha team”, a well-known design-thinking research team in Taiwan. We published a “Digital Transformation Visualization Guidebook” and held a series of workshops interacting with the textile firms and industry consultants to anchor the key problems and find leverages. In the long run, we identified that
“
lacking
branding
strategies”
would be the most crucial issue among the sunset industry in Taiwan so there existed a gigantic gap between the international market and local market.

The Textile Industry Had Been A Sunset Industry In Taiwan In The Past Decade
A well structural industry but lack resilience Since 1950, the textile industry in Taiwan was output oriented. Due to COVID-19, the production value declines by 19% from 2019. Many companies turned to counting on digital transformation, hoping the industry innovation could rescue the textile industry from this plight.

PAINPOINT: Why Digital Transformation Was So Difficult T
In this Field work Study, we held a series of design thinking workshops to collect opinions from employees, middle management, and decision-making level about why digital transformation was so hard to bring the effectiveness.

To Sunset Industry ?
HUMAN / MANAGEMENT
TECH /MECHANISM
We concluded 4 key problems the textile company might face during the Digital Transformation Process. However, we found that the textile company in Taiwan lacked a long term strategy and branding plan, so that the Digital Transformation couldn’t bring them to the niche market.
21
Find The First Step To The Niche Market Orientation 1 : Value Added Product
Digital transformation is not a short-term solution. We need to catch up with market trends, and design step-by-step strategies from new product design, new production line, specialists team, data support decision making to total solution sale.
22
Orientation 2 : Sustainability
When consumers’ preferences change, consumers want to buy clothes with environmental certification, and in the meanwhile, customized production becomes mainstream. Textile industry needs to adapt to these new market changes with digital transformation strategies.
23
In 2020, we published a 1st digital transformation guidebook to offer some point of view for the textile companies in Taiwan.
24
In this turbulent age, Improving resilience would be a profound issue for all kinds of industry when we talk about digital transformation.

In Taiwan, people among 20-35 years old might not affordable to buy a own house. Since the concept of sharing economy has been more popular recently, people start to rethink the value of apartment life, hoping it is a way to raise peoples' living conditions. In this descriptive study, we aim to illustrate the persona who chooses the co-living lifestyle in the modern city and capture the potential living requirements in the near future.

It's been a self-initiated street snap plan since the first half of 2021. I undertook a Social Innovation Program sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, I got a chance to travel around every city of Taiwan, and record the authentic city. In this portfolio, I picked up two kinds of lifestyle between City and Countryside, and we can observe the different daily life and attitude.
