Why Copenhagen/Malmø 2028? Some short points of why you shall pick the joined bid from Copenhagen and Malmö: 1. The people of both Denmark and Sweden are both very sports interested. 2. We have many good experiences in hosting of different world class events, all with positive feedback 3. We are organization wise very good, and all will go smoothly 4. Copenhagen has an international airport in world class. There have been many different “events” where they have won 1. Place as the world best. I list a few: 2013 and 2014: “World’s Best Airport Security Processing” 2014: “World best Café and Restaurant selection” And in 2014 it made a new passenger-record and had 25,6 million passengers (and to compare Hamburg airport had 13,5 million in 2013) 5. Copenhagen and Denmark in general are a green country and well known for wind power. All Olympic venues, athletes’ homes etc. will all have all energy that is from different kind of renewable energy (Wind, solar etc.) 6. Copenhagen and Malmö are well connected with the bridge for both cars and trains so you can get from the 2 main Olympics areas in 15 minutes by train. 7. In the City of Copenhagen there are about 1.2 million people, and in Malmö there are 280.000. But both cities are well intergraded and many people live and work in both cities. There are many towns near the 2 cities. In a radius of 80 km from the 2 cities we get more than 3 million people! 8. The 2028 games in Copenhagen and Malmö will be remembered as “The Green and healthy games” Beside the green energy, there will be made a lot of contest in all the country of both Denmark and Sweden. There will be national Olympics for the schools to participate in different ages, in some of the real stadiums. We will make contest for the regular people to try to play different sport in the Olympic venues the month op to the games etc. etc. So the basic idea of the games are Green and healthy! When in 2028? The Olympic Games in 2028 will take place from Friday the 27 of July, to Sunday the 13 August. The Paralympic Games will take place from Friday the 18 of August to Thursday the 31 of august. The weather at that time of the year is in average about 20-22 degrees Celsius in daytime, and in average there will in those 2 weeks come about 40-50 mm of rain.
Where will the games exactly take place I have made a map shown underneath this text. The 5 marks on the map are where most of the venues will take place, but a few other places are also in play for some events. The purple mark (In Copenhagen) is where the main Olympic town will be, with also some of the events will be, including the Olympic stadium and Aquastic stadium. The red mark (In Malmö) is where the main area in Malmö, and host most of the events in Sweden. The 3 other marks, Dark blue, light blue and light green are all places in Copenhagen that will more than one event in that area. And again a few other places will be used around both Copenhagen and Malmö. And of course the football tournament will use stadiums all over both countries. The map:
As you can see on the map the Copenhagen Airport is just beside the bridge and the purple area is an area under strong development so the athletes and officials will have a few minutes train ride to the Olympic town. There will also be an Olympic town in Malmö for those that want to be nearer there sports there, and don’t travel over the bridge. But if they want to use the main Olympic town, and get the spirit from living there it is of course possible. The train ride from Olympic Town and pass by the Airport and over to Malmö will only take about 20 minutes. And from the Olympic town to some of the other areas are also about 20 minutes with different trains etc. So the main area is centrally located, but we can expect that the trains over the bridge will be very much used, and is therefore an advantage to stay in Malmö for those that shall compete there.
Transport At the map above you can see all the red roads, that are hi-ways with 2-3 or some 4 lanes. The map only show the short area, and not all the roads to Copenhagen. But the 2028 Olympic Games in Copenhagen and Malmö will concentrate on public transportation. Also a part of “The Green games” There are a lot of existing S-trains, Metro, regional train lines, and internationally trains. Besides that, there are already decided more metro, a new lightrail system, which if we get the Olympics will plan further lightrail-network so all the main areas will be well connected. All trains of all kind will be free in the whole Olympic period. In some areas outside Copenhagen and Malmö there will be made some big “Park and Ride” places, where people can park the cars and take trains directly to the Olympic venues. A detailed map will of course come in the whole bid later. The sports and venues IOC has decided the sports that shall be included in the 2028 Olympic Games and besides those the host country get to choose one more sport. The joined bid from Denmark and Sweden had chosen Golf to be the sport that they will include. Both Denmark and Sweden has many good golf players and a good history of well-organized tournaments of the highest level. At this point not all the venues had been finalized, but in this stage it will look something like this. I will list it as Existing or New venue. A new Venue can be a temporary build venue. And an Existing venue can perhaps be a soccer stadium temporary rebuild, or temporary added seating’s. Or a venue that already is under construction, but not in use yet. The details of that will follow in the main application later. Some changes might also be made later. But for now it looks something like this. The location of each sport in which city/country, will has a history of what country that traditional has good athletes in it. Some sports will use different venues for pre. days, and other for finals, and leave room for others there. Sport Athletics Archery Badminton Basketball Boxing

With this venue plan, we in the organization committee will try to use mostly already existing venues, which the plan also shows. There are only a few completely new venues and lot of existing venues or venues that will temporary rebuild for the games. The committee will in the final application make explain every venue much more detailed.
