The feature paving shall be integrated to the site of current architectural design studio. The feature paving shall be at a prominent location of the project site (example: entrance of proposed building, plaza, court, drop-off area, entrance / exit to the site). The feature paving can be interspersed with appropriate planting space(s) or public amenities.

A B O U T B I O P H I L A N D 6 FLUIDITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN URBAN ARCHITCETURE AND LANSDCAPE OF AN AREA DESIGN CONCEPT AND APPROACH B I O P H I L A N D

The aim of this project is to helps defining the urban public open space which is subject design project STUDIO ARCH 3150, a visitor center while integrating whith landscape architecture project. This project is An approach to architecture that seeks to connect building occupants more closely to nature. BIOPHILAND, is focusing on biophilic design on landscaping. That provides multiple ecological, cultural, Recreational and aesthetic services, through the creation of multilevel grounds and diverse garden spaces and keeping in mind people in the centre of development by creating a truly biophilic space inspired by nature ensuring connection to each individual

6 PRINCIPLES OF BIOPHILIC DESIGN B I O P H I L A N D sound or other non vvisual isual connection to nature presence of water pattern that exist in nature prospect of view over a distance Thermal comfort & airflow 7

Nature in the space addresses the direct, physical and ephemeral presence of nature in a space of place. this includes plant life, water and animals, as well as breezes, sounds, scents and other natural elementS.

NATURE IN THE SPACE

NATURE ANALOGUES G O A L S 8

B I O P H I L A N D

There a few types of sitting area provide. and this is one of it. which is a tale with four sitting chai. the reason of providing this kind of sitting is because the site is a public building which consist a lot of types spaces that inviting mostly families This is one of multi use concrete planter box which allow visitor to sit around it

This platform sitting is design according to the curvy line of the decking which allow more sitting and also lot of walking spaces

The principles are the fundamental concepts of composition proportion, order, repetition, and unity — that serve as guidelines to arrange or organize the features to create an aesthetically pleasing or beautiful landscape. The principles of landscape design include the elements of unity, scale, balance, simplicity, variety, emphasis, and sequence as they apply to line, form, texture, and color. These elements are interconnected

REPETITION D e s i g n P r i n c i p l e s

Repetition involves repeating or using the same element more than once. In this Layout/Picture the pavement on the top part of the layout and the rain water harvesting pool at the bottom part of the layout is following the same wave pattern even both serve different purpose. as can be seen from the layout the vegetation organization is also repeating on both site.

B I O P H I L A N D 22

VARIETY D e s i g n P r i n c i p l e s

Variety adds spices and interest into a landscape. Be it hardscape or soft scape. The combination of the warm color tropical plants and flower creates a more eyes soothing and lively palette which in return results into a more warm and comforting environment. It also gives contrast with the green background and surrounding trees/context into ensuring a diversification of colors, form, texture, smell and most importantly prevent monotony in the landscape design.

B I O P H I L A N D 23

24

Unity is the quality of oneness and harmonious The entrance, hardscape and soft scape elements harmoniously unites as one. The color theme, size , and texture creates a pleasing, balance and aesthetic unified landscape environment that represent the essence of Biophilic design into a landscape.

FOCALIZATION e s

D

Focalization is created as a visual break in a the sequence and flow of the landscape. In this Picture the focal point is at the Corner of the landscape (at the building entrance) plot divide by a water pool from the other half of the plot. The focal point is the point or area of the landscape that attracts the viewers/Public eyes

PROPORTION D e s i g n P r i n c i p l e s 26

Proportion refers to the size of elements in relation to each other that is scale Proportion is achieved as it is proportional to human scale. The decking gives one a place to see and enjoy the panoramic views of the lake.

B I O P H I L A N D

SEQUENCED e s i g n P r i n c i p l e s

The orderly repetition of the plants and vertical wall post directs the eye to a desired point of focus and direction toward the desired direction on site and its arrangement of sequence is harmony to the wavy pavement.

B I O P H I L A N D 27

Sequence refers to the particular order in which related things follow each other. It helps the eye movement from neat to far and vice versa (orderly progression)

f e a t u r e p a v i n g l a y o u t 28

The pavement design is mainly wavy and curvy to emphasis the the concept of fluidity. The material chosen is very simple and recyclable.
