There are several tourist destinations in the country, but the main tourist destinations are Pangkor Island, about 85 km from Ipoh, and Ipoh itself for its abundant food. There are many limestone hills in the central part of the country (such as between Ipoh and Chemor in the north, and Ipoh to Gopeng in the south), and generally there are these caves. Many of these hills have Chinese temples (called tang) or Hindu temples, many of which are built in caves. Walk through the country and see these beautiful sights, and visit one or more of these caves. If you live in Ipoh, you can take a long-distance bus to the cave. Malay delicacy are popular in Perak, the tempoyak, durian extract is preserved and traditionally kept in the container. It is usually mixed with cayenne pepper and eaten with other dishes. This custom is popular in general, especially in Ipoh. Through more than 2000 years of contact with India, the influence of Indian cuisine has spread in Perak as well.

The country is particularly known as a producer of bali pomelo (grapefruit). The fruit was introduced by Hugh Low, the fourth British citizen in Perak, who brought seeds from the neighboring Dutch East Indies and distributed them in Penang and Perak (especially Tambun). Other districts also known for their agricultural production: Bidor with guava, Hulu Perak (durian), Menglembu (peanuts) and Tapah (petai). Ipoh white coffee, a popular beverage in Malaysia, comes from Ipoh.

The Kinta Valley has been inhabited by the ancestors of Orang Asli for thousands of years. Prehistoric relics include the Tambun petroglyphs. The Kinta Valley has been frequented for tin ore by Indian traders since time immemorial. A Buddhist bronze artifact was discovered in Kinta in 1931. It is bordered by Sungai Siput to the north, Parit (central Perak province) to the west, the Batang Padang valley to the south and Lojing (Kelantan) and Cameron Highlands (Pahang) to the east. The old mines, which are mainly operated by China and the shallow surface mines, are the towns of Gopeng, Batu Gajah, Kampar and Ipoh. South of Ipoh the ore is deeper, in wetlands up to 60 meters, which is used for dredging. Limestone is found under the gravel and in the hills 2000 feet to the east. The leaning Tower, Perak The original leaning tower did not tilt as it is today. This tower was originally known as the High Clock because it has a clock at the top. The person responsible for making this clock tower is Leong Choon Cheong or Ah Cheong. As an architect, he was inspired to build with designs based on pagoda buildings in China. The original purpose of the construction of this tower in 1885 was to make a water tank. Water from this reservoir is intended for residents to use during the dry season or as war supplies. This is because there were no firefighters at the time. In 189 5, there was a major flood in Diamond Bay until the tower collapsed. Flooding that occurs with heavy water loads is believed to cause the tower to tilt westward. During the Japanese period (1942-1945), the construction of a clock tower became a control tower to monitor enemy arrivals. This wooden building that was used as a military building by the Japanese caused special damage to the top.

Ipoh Railway Station The first Ipoh station was built in 1894 when the first Perak railway was built along Ipoh, serving the city for 20 years in the years following and its incorporation into the Federal State Railway of Malaysia (FMSR). Construction of the second station and hotel began in 1914 to replace the first station; Due to material shortages and increased manpower during the First World War, the station was not completed until 1917. A new two -storey station building was built with more space. a nice home not only the train office, but also the Majestic Hotel which is the entrance hotel. which also has a restaurant and bar. Initially the hotel offered 17 rooms with direct access to the loggia on the second floor, but in 1936 the hotel increased the number of rooms to 21. For more than 80 years, during the years of operation of FMSR and its successor, Railway Malaysia, the general layout of this station has not changed since its construction due to lack of improvement training on the entire rail network in Peninsular Malaysia. .

Just looking at the building will give the impression that you are in a European country. In fact, the building is also an important landmark of Ipoh, located in the Colonial Quarter. Located on Club Road (Jalan Dato Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab), this magnificent colonial building with strong classical elements known for its neoclassical architecture was designed by government architect A.B Hubback, who also designed the station. At the end of the war, soldiers of the Royal Berkshire Regiment gathered chairs in the Majestic Hotel for their first assignment. In addition to these organs, the church was restored in 1949. Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque was inaugurated on September 15, 1978 by Sultan Idris Iskandar Shah II (1963-1984), 33 times Sultan, to celebrate his 33rd birthday. The mosque is located on approximately 2.6 hectares of land in the heart of the city. Ipoh. Construction of the mosque began on May 16, 1966, after the foundation stone was laid on October 27, 1967 by (late) Tun Haji Abdul Razak, then Deputy Prime Minister. This large dome has a width of 10.3 meters from the ground. All the domes are beautifully visible from the outside and glow in the sun. The large town is square with a depth of 36 m and can accommodate around 1,500 people. The floor is covered with a striped fabric showing the rows of prayers. There are scriptures on the doors and on the walls of the mehrab. The utility room is 36m long and 12m deep and can accommodate around 500 people. This small room can be used for women and can also be used as a study and religious meeting room.

The mosque tower from ground level up to 31 meters high and above there are stairs and elevators with a capacity of 6 people. The beautiful view from the top of the tower covers the entire city of Ipoh. Four loudspeakers are installed under the roof. On the ground floor there are facilities such as ablution room, meeting room and khanah pole, office and storage room. There is also a large courtroom the size of a large courtroom upstairs. The pilgrims' room below can also accommodate 1,500 people. In front of the mosque building there is a parking lot, while at the back there is a house for priests, bilals and other officials of the mosque. To this day, this mosque is still referred to by the public as the “Perak State Mosque”. Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque located to the right of Ipoh Station is one of the main buildings in Ipoh city. The architecture is magnificent, symbol of the glory of Islamic civilization in Perak. Famous and unique because there are up to 125 towers built on top of each dome.

SMC is different from the first Christian church built in Ipoh. It started modestly in 1890 with a number of parishes, most of which were Chinese settlers in the Kinta Valley. Fr. Emile Barillon (MEP) (1890-1892), a French missionary pastor, was the first pastor in the church. The church building was

Pierre Perrichon (MEP) (1892-1900), acquired the current site in 1893 and began construction on the current building. The church was built by a Chinese Christian entrepreneur named Mr. Leong Ah Choong to $ 14,000. The Gothic style church took two years to build. The new church was completed in 1895 and received its official blessing in 1896. Four Chinese characters on the front arch of the

Kellie castle BATU GAJAH
At the age of 21, he decided to leave Scotland and seek his fortune abroad. On arrival in Malaysia, William worked as a civil engineer and helped build a road in Batu Gajah near Ipoh. Due to bad luck with a failing company and a collapsing coffee industry, William's future looks bright. But life was worthless by investing in William's rubber plantation which immediately reached the height of his wealth. His chronically ill mother's return to Scotland received positive attention: William met Agnes, his future wife. On his return to Malaysia, he decided to build a luxury home for his wife. The Smith family had two children, a daughter named Helen and a son Anthony.

the castle is located in Batu Gajah, Perak, Kellie’s Castle may not be as famous as the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, but the two buildings have more in common. Just as the Taj Mahal represents the unrelated love of the Mughal king, Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, Kellie’s Palace also has its own tragic love story, a love palace for his wife. he married a Scottish lover, Agnes, and brought her to Malaysia in 1903. The following year, the couple had a woman named Helen. A few years

later, Agnes tried to conceive, but to no avail. William Smith who wanted to have a son and an heir could take over the kingdom of the archipelago. After a few years, Agnes gave birth to a son named Anthony in 1915. Born as a successful start -up son for the older William Smith. To celebrate Anthony’s birth, William Smith decided to expand the house. Smith began designing a large palace that he wanted to call Kellas House, after his native town in Scotland.

ARCH Beautiful buildings in Kinta District VENTURE Historical buildings are important to show how the country was built.
Communities value buildings with their history and heritage - in addition to their past character and disabilities. In Perak, most buildings honor Ipoh's legacy by way of buying and selling restoring some of the old buildings in certain areas, such as the Kinta district. The younger generation to actively participate in the revitalization of the old city, improve life by incorporation modern business in buildings, with minor modifications - hopefully while maintaining the beauty of the original design. can be called a generally old building.
