The roof makes the building become one of the more striking structure in Kuala Lumpur’s due to the unique turquoise tiled roof and rises the majestically above the treetops be it from any direction. The design and the roof of the Istana Budaya is climate responsive towards Malaysia’s tropical climate as it provides a total control on two of the main climate factors which is sun and rain. Just like a roof of a vernacular Malay house, the pitched roof, is steep and have wide overhangs for shading against direct solar radiation and control glare from the open sky.
ROOF STRUCTURE
Having a pitched roof also means the internal accommodation of the building will not suffer from the extremes of temperature that tend to afflict rooms under flat roofs as it will be more efficiently insulated. In case of an extension, pitched roof allow the building to blend in more effectively into the rest of the property while retaining a sense of individuality and character. Aside from being a decorative element, the steep roof of Istana Budaya is efficient rainwater evacuation and also provides protection against the driving downpour.

SITE
CONTEXT Strength
Context of Site Below shows the site context that can be seen around the location of site.
Weakness
The site is located in a strategic location and open where it is easily accessible & near facilities.
It is close to the roadside which cause noise & air pollution which can cause discomfort to the users in the site.
Opportunity
Threat
As the site is located in an open area, it could offer natural ventilation and lighting which lessen energy consumption.
The amount of users may decrease if the the noise and air pollution is not controlled throughout the site area.
● As the site is open, high humidity may occur in the site which cause discomfort towards users.
● Installing solar panels into the building will take advantage of the direct sunlight and also be used as energy to cool down the building.
● The site is located nearby the roadside which cause not only air but noise pollution. This will hence lead to discomfort to users.
● Using sustainable materials for the building may help canceling the noise pollution and inserting vegetation as a noise barrier for the site.
04 CIRCULATION
VEHICULAR & PEDESTRIAN CIRCULATION
In particular at our site , circulation routes are the pathways people take through and around buildings or urban places. Although every space a person could access or occupy forms part of the circulation system of a building, when we talk about circulation, we typically don’t try to account for where every person might go. Instead, we often approximate the main routes of the WEEKEND majority of users.

VEHICULAR CIRCULATION The main road that is accessible to our site is Persiaran Bangi and Persiaran Pusat Bandar 1. These two roads are connected by Persiaran Kemajuan and the roads circulate around Bandar Baru Bangi with some narrower streets that lead to shoplots and residential areas. All types of road vehicles are allowed to access through the main roads.
PEDESTRIAN CIRCULATION There are a few existing pedestrian walkways that are connected to our site which include the walk trail taman tasik cempaka and Persiaran Bangi pedestrian walkway. However, there is no proper pedestrian walkway to the site area. Also people freely walk on the shore not following the designated pathways. Other than that, user safety might not be guaranteed due to the absence of zebra crossing along Persiaran Bangi which creates difficulties for the users from the residential and commercial areas to access to the side via walking.
Access locations, building location, site circulation, and parking are highly interrelated shopping centers and malls, on-site roadways designed to accommodate transit. This includes the design of pick-up/drop-off areas as well as the circulating roadways. Transit stops shall be located within a reasonable walking distance of the main building entrance while minimizing potential conflicts with circulating vehicles. Adequate pedestrian facilities must be at other road as I have proposed before at previous slide designed on-site to reduce conflicts between pedestrians and vehicles.

NOISE SOURCES & INTENSITIES
●
There is not much traffic and noise generated at the Narrow 4-Lane Road comparing to the Highway.
●
Having a terrace, curtain wall, window openings or a yard near the highway is not a big no-no unless there is a proposal or a solution to that particular problem.
●
Should design interesting facade in North- East, this side offers a wide angle view of the structure from the main road
●
Trees around the site should keep as they acts as a natural curtain, allows privacy and shade from direct sunlight from east.
●
Create Openings on the positive view on site
●
Installing drain grid to filter out waste.
●
Block the negative views with softscapes/ parking lots
●
Maximise positive views to park
●
Grass cutting or trimming by the lawn mower.
●
Implement sidewalk to lead the users to the positive views on site
●
It really generates a high level of noise
●
Propose entrance or special space program on the positive views on site with the beautiful views creates a welcoming and approachable entrance statement.

Excited for the new place for hanging out and entertainment
Looking forward for the new activities provided in the new project
It's better to have a place where the community can get food and beverage on site so it is comfortable to spent time longer there on site
LACK OF SECURITY/ AREAS During evening time, the site is too dark and not safe for people to do activities there. Street light/artificial light which is not enough to provide brightness on the site People spend time doing recreational activities here, so it need more areas for resting
FACILITIES There's a lot of spaces here that is unused maybe can suggest a centre of some facilities to help of gain the attention of community around

Lotus is well known in Buddhism and hindu culture and religion, for hindu practitioner lotus represent spiritual enlightenment, growth, purity, and birth. While buddhism practitioners lotus represent spiritual awakening, purity, and faithfulness. This belief roots from the fact that lotus flowers emerge from muddy waters. For Buddhism, that means the act of rising above despite the challenges and moving towards the light of wisdom.
Transformation lotus reminds us that we can emerge to blossom, regardless of where we started.
Lotuses symbolize resurrections and new beginnings. The flower emerges in the morning, only to close up at night and disappear into back into the water. in the morning, a new blossom remerges and continues the cycle.
