FARHAN SAIFEE

this is where i began to wonder this is where i have to go! here I am ( currently) architecture happened here!

For me, the Idea is as worthy as power. The soul of an idea determines the capacity to think. I was born in a minor family which I'm proud of. My cultures and notions are a part of my existence. I have always tried to normalise the Idea to think diverse. My internal self devotes me to think more. The more I move forward, the easier is to apply and create. I always wait and wonder what challenge is next for me to play with. My career as a designer is an ardent one. I belong to humanity and their livelihood daily problems. I try to establish a procedure to scale the work. To come to it and tackle it with my skills and mastery. The most powerful sword to the battlefield is minimalism. One who has it. Wins.

When it comes to architecture, I respect the functionality with Volume, Space and Order. I like to play with geometry on one side and amalgamate it with poetry on the other. My circles are the moon, which depicts the story of my drawings. I know how to create magic within simple things. Carrying principles and elements of design on my tips, I justify my Planning. My design philosophies are focused on the context I'm working on. Hence, I create multi-disciplinary design solution for the same context. My masterstroke is to create and be honest with your justification. I like to generate opportunities in and around me. My entrepreneurship skills tell my story and my ideas ideate my future. I seek notions from businesses around me. The world has so much to offer, only if we really capable enough to get it

RE-THINKING WILD

1. THINK Indian wildlife has been neglected and if India is to save its vanishing heritage, active endeavor are essential for conserving the Indian forests and species. The conservation of India’s biological diversity depends critically on sound professional management of significant areas in the future. Despite substantial investments allotted to the conservation of India’s biodiversity by governmental and international agencies, effective conservation has been hindered by a lack of professionals who can design, implement and monitor.

RE-THINK Wildlife conservation is not just about conservation or protection of a species but is also intricately linked to a certain quality of life and also livelihood opportunities for local communities who live in and around such areas. The benefits, both actual and potential that accrue to local communities need to be properly understood and efforts made to enhance such benefits. Similarly, negative impacts of wildlife on such communities also need to be addressed on a priority.

BACKGROUND

India is uniquely blessed with wildlife diversity. One of eighteen mega diverse countries, it is home to 7.6% of all mammalian, 12.6% of all avian, 6.2% of all reptilian, 4.4% of all amphibian, 11.7% of all fish, and 6.0% of all flowering plant species. This diversity becomes even more remarkable given that our country, with only 2.4 per cent of the total land area of the world, contributes 8 per cent to the known global biological diversity, while also being the second largest populous nation in the world, with over 1.2 billion people. The establishment of Protected Areas has been the major effort to secure wild species and their habitats across the country. Protected Areas include Sanctuaries and National Parks but following an amendment to the WLPA in 2006, the new categories of Conservation and Community Reserves are also included as PAs. In 1998, the country had 426 PAs including 54 National Parks and 372 Wildlife Sanctuaries extending over 3.34 % of the geographical area of the country. By 2009, this had grown to a network of 661 PAs comprising 100 National Parks, 514 Wildlife Sanctuaries, 43 Conservation Reserves and 4 Community Reserves in different bio-geographic zones, extending to about 4.9 % of the geographical area of the country. Organization of the Working Group: To facilitate preparation of the report based on extensive debate, sharing of concerns, views and information amongst different stakeholders and keeping in view present and emerging challenges in the assigned subjects, the main Working Group (WG) was organized into three Resource Groups covering broad themes of : 1) Wildlife Management – Resource Group-I 2) Ecotourism and Livelihoods – Resource Group-II 3) Animal Welfare – Resource Group-III
