‘Welcome to the desert of real’ . . . In Wakhan corridor and Kabul City (Afghanistan) innocent people (including kids) are being killed and put at risk without a choice to a peaceful life. Due to constant war condition lots of Afghan boys are forced to join local groups of fighters and participate in these conflicts, use real weapons and kill people. My entire life I was feeling lost regarding my nationality because I’m a clash of three nations which pretty much hate each other and therefore, I never knew how to deal with it. But at the age of 15 I came across Franz Kafka’s literature and when I read his biography I realised that I’m feeling just like he did. He was a German-speaking Prague Jew and he felt like living in a triple ghetto: separated from native German language, isolated from Czech culture and left without Jewish roots. Therefore, in this collection I looked back into my childhood in post-Soviet Lithuania and with the reference to iconic photographs by Antanas Sutkus created clothes for a man full of paradoxes. As Franz Kafka said: ‘Art is always a matter of personality. Therefore, it is fundamentally tragic’.
