Fats Cap Fanzine

Who is Terrible T-Kid 170? Why this name? Terrible is who I was at one time. I took what I wanted and did what I had to do to survive at that time in my life. Everyone use to say. “ your Terrible Kid!” Be cause of those things I built a bad reputation, but that’s not who I really am. I am a living legend today. Cause what really made me terrible was the style of letters that flow from my mind. The colors I used and continued to use. The things that I do that are not contemporary.

When and why do you start in this culture? This wasn’t even a culture when I started. This was just kids having fun. Escaping from the block. Getting away from the nonsense of everyday ghetto life. A rebellion against society as it exists at that time. My first tag was king 13. And that was 1973. I tagged my neighborhood

then I become SEN102 in 1975 doing motion tagging on the 6 line and 4 line layup in Spanish Harlem. Then in 1977 I became Tkid170. And rocked my shit on all lines.

How to start graffiti under your point of view? You have to have a desire for it. You need to have a need for an adrenaline rush and you need to be very creative.

What is graffiti for you? It’s my life. I am dedicated to it. Always evolving alway inspiring. It’s life, it’s movement it’s pure expression.

T-Kid, who is your Master or your maximum concerning? Master? Lol if you mean mentor I would say Padre-Dos who thought me to flow.

Brother, can explain the evolution of your style please? My style is true graffiti style taking a basic letter and transforming it into a story that tell you the history of what you saw back in NYC subway trains back in the days. From simple bubbles letters to elaborate mechanical styles to three dimensional shit that comes at you from all sorts of ways.

Julius, any tip to do pieces? and for still fresh? Keep it simple. Keep it tight and do it right.

When did you paint your first train? Are you still painting trains? 1974 it was a king 13 piece on the 6 line and it was whack.

What are the colors you use more? Cascade green, Federal safety purple, Clover green, Baby blue, Hot pink, Bermuda blue.

Graffiti is changing all time, what is the years where was more progress at it? What do you think about 2016’s graffiti? The 90s is where I saw the most chan-

name given so it could keep the bad boy image but be commercially accepted.

What is your crew? How long time are you at them? Who are the another members of the cru? My Cru is TNB and we are not a cru. We are a world wide fellowship of graffiti writers the enjoy doing our thing. Then I’m down with WILD STYLE. Because wild style is my way of life!

C’mon tell me anything thing about the first battle of graffiti named “ Meeting of Styles”: ge. It went from piecing on trains to murals on walls. This opened the door to all types of artists that had no style with letters but could draw pretty pictures. 2016 is about the commercialization of the graffiti art into street art. Street art was the

The first battles where on subway trains. Those where real battles. That’s how STYLE evolved. That’s how kings where made. MOS to me is just a big party where the only winners are the paint companies who use writers to promote their product for free. Genius. You

couldn’t get a celebrity to promote a product for free. But give a kid a free can of paint and he or she will sing and dance!! It’s a shame that people don’t see this. Back in the day we would put those companies out of business cause we would steal their paint!

The eternal fight: legal vs illegal .What do you think about? I did enough ilegal shit in my life time. So today pay me!! For my shit. So I really

don’t care about this issue. If it’s a good spot where people will see your work and it’s legal. “Do it” if you have the need for an adrenaline rush and it’s what you like and it’s ilegal “do it”. I can’t tell you what is right or wrong. The subway trains are not worth painting anymore. Nothing runs so you can see and challenge other writers. You don’t have much time to paint. So what’s the point. I liked being a burner king not a throw up king!! Here’s

another point a lot of these writer who talk about how they think graffiti should only be done illegally are on line in a paint shop waiting to PAY for their pant. Hahaha. What a joke!! But those who keep it real. And ilegal 100%. My respect to you!!

What do you think about the law and how the agents treat the writers? Hey it’s part of the game. When you get caught get ready to pay the consequences. Ask Ket! He had to pay quarter of a million dollars for a few tags and a busted whack piece!! Hahaha. Ridiculous! I know but that’s the price. I think it s wrong but hey if you don’t like it. Become a politician and change the laws.

Terrible, some tip for the beeginers, please. Yes...rule number 1 : DONT GET CAUGHT Rule number 2 : if you get caught KEEP YOUR MOUT SHUT. Rule number 3: HAVE FUN!

Do you think to travel to Spain to expose the film about your life “The Nasty-TERRIBLE Tkid170: Julius Cavero”? How we can watch this film? Sure I would love to come to Spain and show the movie. Are you inviting me? Hahaha! The film is available on amazon. Get your copy there!

What do you think about spanish graffiti? Graffiti is a universal language brotha!! Spanish ,French, German. You all have a unique way of how you express graffiti

art. I love it all!!

like to listen to. Break beats.

Can tell me anything about yours actual projects?

What is your experience at breakdance? Who is the first Bboy you seen do six step and the twister?

After many years of doing ilegal shit. I know decided to get paid for doing the thing that they wanted to chase me down the block for it. Beat me up for it. Arrest me for it!! Fuck that. Now pay me for it!! So you can say my project is “ Time to get rich!”

What kind of music do you usually listen? Who is the best band of all times for you? I like soul music rock music. This is where the beats came from to make the music I

When I started break dancing there was no twister. I was break dancing from the beginning. But I think the best breakdancer cru in my time was THE NEW YORK CITY BREAKERS. lil Leo and Glide where my favorite

Do you want say anything for all writers? Yeah remember WILD STYLE isn’t a style of letters. But a way of life.
