Join us for the party of the summer! Celebrate the Nantucket Garden Festival among the historic gardens of the famed Middle Brick. Enjoy inventive farm-to-table cuisine by Greg Margolis, a festive raw bar by YOHO and the musical delights of Coq au Vin and NCMC/Nantucket Lighthouse School students. The party will also include a fabulous and eclectic silent auction and a special guest appearance by author and gardener Lucy Leske. Purchase tickets in advance.

Join us for a tour of Cisco area gardens. Partnering with Nantucket Bike Tours, participants will enjoy a morning ride along the Hummock Pond Road bike path, stopping at a variety of private gardens. This will be a moderate ride with frequent stops at some of the island’s most alluring gardens. Pre-registration is required. Please meet at the Cisco Brewery parking lot. TOU R S Garden Walk and Summer Tea with Cinda Gaynor Thursday, July 24 | Nantucket Wildflower Farm | 2:00—4:00 pm | $60.
Walk through the gardens at Nantucket Wildflower Farm with landscape designer and restoration horticulturist Cinda Gaynor who will introduce you to the subtle beauty achieved in merging native and cultivated plants. Then enjoy a proper afternoon tea, served in her beautiful summer garden. Many of you will remember the Tea in the Garden that Cinda served when her garden was a retail space – we are bringing it back just for the Garden Festival. Come and enjoy tea in a country garden with friends under the tent. This event is limited to 25 participants. Pre-registration is required.

See the gardens and greenhouses and meet the animals that live at Moors End Farm. Join Sam and Abbey Slosek for a private tour of the farm and learn about CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs which allow you to enjoy a variety of farm fresh veggies all season! A unique opportunity to join renowned artist Illya Kagan for a morning of painting en plain air among the beautiful gardens at 2 Spring Street. Bring your easel and supplies to paint in the medium of your choice. This event is limited to 10 participants. Pre-registration is required.

Children ages 4 and up, and their families, are invited to join us in creating one-of-a-kind fairy container gardens. With some seeds, soil, and a little imagination, kids young and old can create miniature gardens perfect for attracting fairies. Come hear a fairy tale, create a mini fairy doll for play or ornament, and build an enchanting fairy realm on the Nantucket Lighthouse School campus. Costumes welcomed and encouraged. Oh, and pixie dust for all! Supplies will be provided.

WOR KSH O PS C.L. Fornari — Success in the Garden: All the Latest Dirt Wednesday, July 23 | Millbrook Road | 1:30—3:30 pm | $45.
Author, artist and gardener C.L. Fornari approaches gardening with humor and a wheelbarrow full of practical, hands-on advice for home gardeners and landscape professionals. She hosts a weekly radio garden talk show on WXTK (95.1) and has written several books on gardening, the most recently published in late spring, Coffee for Roses. C.L. lives and gardens on Cape Cod and understands the challenges posed by coastal landscapes and diverse growing conditions. Held in a private garden on Millbrook Road, she will talk about gardening trends, new plants, style, design, and ideas for success in gardens of all sizes. This event is limited to 25 participants. Pre-registration is required.

Ready to take William Morris’ advice? Enhance your home environment with handcrafted botanical prints – that are both beautiful and functional – we’ll show you how! Printing with nature can be very rewarding, and enjoyable for all ages. In this exciting, hands-on workshop you will learn several traditional and not-so-traditional techniques of botanical printing and how those can be used to make greeting cards, gift tags, wrapping paper, pillows and many other functional pieces of botanical art. You will leave with an understanding of the history of botanical print-making, prints of your own, and ideas for how to use them! This event is limited to 10 participants. Artist in Residence
Bee Shay, a published author and island resident who washed ashore permanently in early 2007, has been a full or part-time art educator since 1978. Currently working at The Tile Room on Nantucket, Bee always makes sure to leave time for community work. A long standing member of The Nature Printing Society (www.natureprintingsociety.org), an educational non-profit organization, she is currently serving as Executive Board President to this international group of printmakers. She has also served on both regional and national boards for S.A.L.I., an educationally based non-profit organization in the world of Early American Arts. For the past six years, Bee has taught Early American Craft and Nature Printing at the Nantucket Historical Association’s 1800 house and has volunteered for island non-profits such as the Lightship Basket Museum and the NHA. Currently, Bee serves on the Board of the Nantucket Lighthouse School and the Nantucket Arts Council. Bee will be offering a Printmaking Workshop on Thursday, July 24th.

Open to individuals, families, businesses and organizations, this unique challenge invites all community members to think outside the clay pot. How many different objects can be used as a planter? A variety of vessels will be displayed downtown prior to the Festival at Fair Street Park. Look for inspiration from what landscape & design professionals have created. Vessels must be delivered to the Fair Street Park (corner of Fair Street and Main Street) on Monday, July 21st between 8-10am for judging by a panel of design professionals. With the creator’s permission, vessels will be available for purchase at Nantucket Garden Festival’s A Garden Soirée. Don’t miss out on this playful community challenge. Registration forms will be available at dropoff.
