INTRODUCTION Dear valued members, The Western Region Council is happy to announce that our Q and A session with our very own Western Region Vice-President Trentyn Tennant was an absolute success. We had over 120+ unique followers attend our lifestream over the course of three days. Additionally, we were able to collectively able to answer over 70+ questions. Seeing the level of engagement we achieved with this program, we hope to make this a monthly event so that all Western Region members can have a attend. TIPS ON CAMPAIGNING FOR OFFICE by Rishab Balakrishnan Western Region Executive Assistant Running for a leadership position in FBLA can be one of the most amazing experiences that any member can undertake. The opportunities and connections you get to make are truly one of a kind. Before even considering a potential run for office, it is important to ask yourself the following questions: "What is it that I could change and how can I use my skills to make this organization better? Answering these questions provides a potential candidate with more clarity regarding the purpose of their campaign, this is crucial when creating campaign goals. Next, it is important to determine the position you want to run for. Make sure you run for a position that fits your level of passion and challenge. After doing this, you can utilize the following tips to formulate a great campaign. Design a campaign theme. Create a theme that represents you and make it identifiable with a lot of people. Disney movies often are a great place to look for potential ideas, eg: "Together we can create a whole new world" (Aladdin). Organize a campaign team. In your chapter, find an individual who is willing to manage your campaign. They should know you and your goals very well. Plan in advance. Look at the deadlines and dates for required materials, and use these dates to map a schedule to design, prep, and execute your campaign. Learn more. Talk to former (or current) Chapter, Section, Region, and State officers to understand the responsibilities associated with your chosen leadership role.
