Welcome
Fáilte
Welcome to Féile an Phobail’s 20th birthday celebrations! Who would have thought all those years ago that from the acorn of a few street parties, a small march to Dunville Park led by a pony and trap, and a rain drenched week of entertainment in a circus tent in an Andersonstown car park, would emerge the great oak that is Féile an Phobail - the largest community festival in Ireland and one of the largest in Europe! In 1988 it was impossible to envision a better, more peaceful world. We can thank our lucky stars that in Ireland – through dialogue, compromise, mutual respect, establishing principles of equality and human rights – we have somehow emerged with a template for peaceful transformation. We like to think that Féile an Phobail played its part in encouraging dialogue, inclusiveness and reconciliation.
Fáilte romhat chuig ceiliúradh 20 bliain d’Fhéile an Phobail! Cé a shílfeadh na blianta ó shin ón tús simplí, cúpla cóisir sráide, siúlóid bheag go Páirc Dhún Bhile le capaillín agus trucail, agus seachtain fhliuch siamsaíochta i bpuball sorcais i gcarrchlós Bhaile Andarsan, go bhfásfadh eagraíocht ollmhór Fhéile an Phobail amach as - an fhéile phobail is mó in Éirinn agus ceann de na cinn is mó san Eoraip! Ba dhoiligh sa bhliain 1988 domhan níos fearr, níos síochánta a shamhlú ina dhiaidh sin. Is féidir linn buíochas a ghabháil go raibh muidne, in Éirinn – trí shíocháin, trí chomhrá, trí chomhréiteach, trí chomh-mheas, agus trí bhunú prionsabal comhionannais agus ceart daonna – ag teacht amach as le bunteimpléad le haghaidh bunathraithe shíochánta. Ba mhaith linn smaoineamh gur imir Féile an Phobail a páirt chun comhrá, cuimsitheacht agus réiteach a spreagadh.
Although the people of West Belfast are certainly not of one political persuasion or a homogeneous group, I look forward to the day when we in Andersonstown, on the Falls, the Shankill and Sandy Row can not only celebrate our neighbourliness without division or barricade but celebrate one huge féile across this great city which would include the new brothers and sisters from other cultures and countries whose presence we welcome and are enriched by.
Cé nach d'aon chreideamh polaitiúil nó de ghrúpa aonchineálach amháin gach duine i mBéal Feirste thiar, cuirim fáilte roimh an lá gur féidir linn ar Bhóthar na bhFál, ar Bhóthar na Seanchille agus Sandy Row, ní amháin ár ndea-chomharsanacht a cheiliúradh gan chonstaic ná gan bharacáid ach féile ollmhór amháin fud fad na cathrach iontaí seo a cheiliúradh ina mbeadh deartháireacha agus deirfiúracha nua ó chultúir agus ó thíortha eile a shaibhríonn go mór muid agus cuirimid fáilte roimhe sin.
Finally, I would like to pay special tribute to the many volunteers, community groups, artists, committee members, funders & sponsors (see inside front cover) and Féile staff who all made massive contributions over the years and who will have made this anniversary a resounding success!
Mar fhocal scoir, ba mhaith liom buíochas ar leith a ghabháil le méid bocht oibrithe deonacha, grúpaí pobail, ealaíontóirí, baill choiste, maoinitheoirí & urraitheoirí (féach taobh istigh den chlúdach tosaigh) agus foireann na Féile a raibh ionchur ollmhór acu le blianta anuas agus a dhéanfaidh ócáid rathúil as an cheiliúradh seo!
We have a brilliant programme. You will not know where to begin! Sean Paul O’Hare, Director, Féile an Phobail

FÉILE DRIVE IN MOVIES FÉILE PICTIÚRLANN NA MOTAR ‘Dirty Dancing’
‘Dirty Dancing’
Sunday 3rd August Nobody puts Baby in a corner, not even Féile. We put her on a 40 ft screen! That’s what’s in store with ‘Dirty Dancing’ being at the Drive-In. In the summer of 1963, 17-year-old New Yorker Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman (Jennifer Grey) is vacationing with her family at Kellerman’s holiday resort. Baby develops a crush on the resort’s dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) and when Baby is invited to a party, she sees for the first time the ‘dirty dancing’ that the staff all enjoys. As Baby becomes Johnny’s pupil in dance, tempers flare and a romance begins. The clash of middle-class rich kid and working-class dance instructor is fraught with angst yet despite everything the magic of the dancing reigns supreme and they certainly have the time of their lives!
Dé Domhnaigh 3ú Lúnasa Ní chuireann duine ar bith 'Baby' sa choirnéal, chan an Fhéile go fiú. Cuirimid í ar scáileán 40 troigh! Sin a bheidh in ann dúinn le 'Dirty Dancing' ag Pictiúrlann na Mótar. I samhradh 1963, bhí Frances 'Baby' House, 17 mbliana d'aois, as Nua Eabhrac ar saoire lena teaghlach ar laithreán saoire Kellerman.Titeann Baby i ngrá le hoide damhsa an laithreáin Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) agus nuair a tugadh cuireadh di dul ar cóisir, feiceann sí an 'damhsa salach' den chéad uair, damhsa as a mbaineann an fhoireann uile sult. Nuair a éiríonn Baby ina mac léinn damhsa ag Johnny, éiríonn rudaí teasaí agus tosaíonn an grá. Is casta é an chaismirt idir girseach mheánaicme agus oide damhsa den lucht oibre ach in ainneoin gach rud, éiríonn dríocht an damhsa i réim agus bíonn an t-am is fearr ina saol acu!
‘The Exorcist’ Monday 4th August Chris MacNeil notices dramatic and dangerous changes in the behavior and physical make-up of her twelve-year-old daughter Regan. Regan exhibits strange, unnatural powers, including levitation and great strength. At first, Chris believes that Regan’s rapid mental and physical changes are due to trauma from Chris’s recent divorce and doctors try to find an explanation for her bizarre behaviour. Supernatural occurrences plague the household and two priests are called to perform an exorcism. From that moment the horror develops… Possibly the scariest film you’ll ever see!
‘Pulp Fiction’ Tuesday 5th August Everybody can remember putting two fingers side ways in front of your face and doing the ‘pulp fiction’ dance to Chuck Berry’s ‘You Never Can Tell’. If you claim you haven’t, you are obviously lying! Take two hit men (John Travolta & Samuel L. Jackson), a mob boss (Ving Rhames), his wife (Uma Thurman), a washed-up boxer (Bruce Willis) and a series of bizarre coincidences, occurrences and mishaps involving Pumpkin, Honey Bunny, Captain Koons and the Gimp, and you have what can only be described as one of Quentin Tarantino’s best works.

‘The Exorcist’ Dé Luain 4 Lúnasa Tugann Chris MacNeil faoi deara athruithe atá drámata agus baolach in iompar agus cruth fisiceach a hiníne 12 bhliain d’aois, Regan. Léiríonn Regan cumhachtaí aisteacha mínádúrtha, eadarbhuasú agus neart as cuimse ina measc. I dtús báire, creideann Chris go mbaineann athruithe meabhracha agus fisiceacha Regan le tráma mar gheall cholscaradh Chris ar na mallaibh, agus déanann dochtuírí iarracht teacht ar mhíniú faoina hiompar aduain.Tá an teaghlach cráite ag tarlaithe osnádúrtha agus cuirtear fios ar an dá shagart le deamhandíbirt a dhéanamh. Is ón bhomaite sin a thosaíonn an t-uafás… B'fhéidir an scannán is scanrúla a d’fheicfeá choíche!
‘Pulp Fiction’ Dé Máirt 5ú Lúnasa Is féidir le gach duine cuimhne dhá mhéar a chur cliathánach os comhair d'aghaidh agus damhsa 'pulp fiction' a dhéanamh le ceol Chuck Berry 'You Never Can Tell'. Má deir tú nach dearna, bréag atá tú ag insint! Tóg dhá dhúnmharfóir (John Travolta & Samuel L. Jackson), ceannaire gramisce (Ving Rhames), a bhean chéile (Uma Thurman), dornálaí dóite (Bruce Willis) agus sráith chomhtharluithe, tarluithe agus méancóga ina bhfuil Pumpkin, Honey Bunny, Captain Koons agus an Gimp, agus is é atá agat ansin ná ceann de na tráthanna is fearr de chuid Quentin Taratino.

He has worked as a general surgeon, a consultant surgeon and was Medical Director of the Royal Infirmary in Glasgow. Since 1993 he was Director of Public Health for Greater Glasgow Health Board which is responsible for organising health care and maintaining the health of one million people in the West of Scotland. ‘Why The Rule of Law Really Matters’ The annual P.J. McGrory Human Rights Lecture Speaker – Dame Nuala O’Loan, former Police Ombudsman St Mary’s University College Tuesday 5th August, 7.30pm Nuala O'Loan is a former law lecturer and from 1999 the first Police Ombudsman. Her robust investigation into the police handling of the Omagh bombing brought her into conflict with the then Chief Constable, Sir Ronnie Flanagan. In January 2007 she published the results of ‘Operation Ballast’, an investigation into collusion between the RUC and the UVF in relation to the murder of Raymond McCord Jnr. In a tribute to her independence a survey found that Protestants and Catholics were equally supportive of her in her role as Ombudsman, a position from which she retired in 2007 to work for the Irish government as a special envoy in East Timor. In this address she will talk about her work as Police Ombudsman, about the all-pervasive past, the powers and limitations of the law, but the importance of law in securing and upholding values in an evolving stable and democratic society. Investing in Health Cuban Style Why are the Cubans so successful? Speaker – Una Lynch St Mary’s University College Thursday 7th August, 1pm – 2.30pm Infant mortality and life expectancy are closely correlated to a country’s wealth and GDP. Yet Cuba is the classic opposite of this. Economically a third world country, life expectancy and infant mortality rates in Cuba are comparable with, if not superior to Europe and North America. Una Lynch, as part of her doctoral research, lived in Cuba and was given open access to observe the Cuban health services in action. She will speak about her experiences and what can be learnt about a hugely successful system built around primary care, focused on prevention of disease and the promotion of health, governed by a powerful Ministry of Public Health. Infheistíocht sa tSláinte: an Bealach Cúbach Cén fáth a n-éiríonn comh maith sin leis na Cúbaigh? Is tír den tríú domhan é ar bhonn geilleagrach, ach tá rátaí ionchas saoil agus mortlaíochta, inchurtha le, mura bhfuil siad níos fearr ná, an Eoraip agus Tuaisceart Mheirceá. Chónaigh Úna Lynch, mar chuid dá taighde dochtúireachta, i gCúba agus tugadh rochtain oscailte di le breathnú ar sheirbhísí sláinte Chúba faoi lán seoil. Looking at Iran and Syria: Aggressors or Victims? St Mary’s University College Friday 8th August, 3pm-4.30pm The West and much of its media have accused Iran and Syria as constituting a major threat to Israel and western interests. Speakers: Dr Geoffrey King is an authority on Islamic architecture and a media commentator. Shirvin Zeinalzadeh is an Iranian diplomat, a lecturer and a specialist in Intelligence and International Security. Dr Sayed Safavi is a prominent Iranian cleric and philosopher. Ag Breathnú ar an Iaráin agus ar an tSiria: Fóbartaigh nó Íospartaigh? Coláiste Ollscoile Naomh Muire Dé hAoine 8 Lúnasa, 3pm-4.30pm Chuir an Domhan Thiar agus mórán dá mheáin i leith na Iaráine agus na Siria gur mórbhagairt iad d’Iosrael agus do shuimeanna an Iarthair. Ach cé hiad na fíorfhóbartaigh? D’fhulaing an Iaráin mar gheall ar ionsaí Saddam le bás 1 mhilliún nuair a bhí sé ina chliant ag an Iarthar; is tír bhriste í an Iaráic agus d’fheidhmigh an tSiria go honórach mar óstach do na milliúin teifeach a rinneadh mar gheall ar an chogadh. Aoichainteoirí: an Dr Geoffrey King saineolaí ar ailtireacht Ioslamach agus tráchtaire na meán. Is taidhleoir Iaránach é Shirvin Zeinalzadeh, is léachtóir agus speisialtóir é le Fianáise agus le Slándáil Idirnáisiúnta. Is cléireach agus fealsamh mór le rá an Dr Sayed Safavi. Sa bhliain 2003 cháin sé buamaí féinmharaithe agus d’iarr sé idirbheartaíocht mar mhodh chun deireadh a chur le coimhlint idir Iosrael agus na hArabaigh. Is é ceann rannóg an Phreas agus na Meán é Jihad Makdissi in Ambasáid na Siria, Londain.

Scríobhaithe ag an Charraig
The Rock Bar Thursday 7th August. Doors close at 3.45pm sharp
The Rock Bar Déardaoin 7 Lúnasa. Doirse druidte go díreach ar 3.45pm
For years one of the best events at Féile this year’s Scribes will be powerful, moving and hilarious. An eclectic line up of writers and performers including the astonishing Feile Women’s Singing Group with some new songs. First up is Michael Patrick MacDonald: “a fine writer, with a terrific ear for dialogue and a gift for creating compelling scenes” – ‘Washington Post’. Michael, from Boston, is the author of two acclaimed memoirs, ‘All Souls’ and ‘Easter Rising’. He tells the heartbreaking story of the tragic deaths of four of his siblings and his family’s suffering amidst a culture of silence in Southie, Boston’s tough Irish ghetto, and about his path out of Southie and the influence of the 1980’s punk subculture. Geraldine Hughes is originally from West Belfast but now lives and works in the USA. She has played countless roles on stage and screen and in 2006 was cast by Sylvester Stallone as his confidante, ‘Little’ Marie, in ‘Rocky Balboa’. Geraldine’s electrifying, autobiographical one-woman show, ‘Belfast Blues’, drew critical praise in Los Angeles, New York, London, Chicago, and her hometown of Belfast. She has continued to write and will be speaking about her life and work – in and out of character! Conal Creedon from Cork is a critically acclaimed novelist, playwright [stage and radio] and television documentary maker. His play, ‘The Trial of Jesus’, was nominated for the ‘Irish Times’Theatre Awards. His book ‘Passion Play’ – inspired by the Passion of Jesus and the 1916 Rising - is a beautifully wrought surreal novel which explores the underbelly of Cork through its anti-hero, 33-year-old Pluto, living in a kip with only two hits of LSD and a bottle of whiskey for comfort. The novel is full of humour with such characters as Fatfuka, Pinko and Herman the German and their philosophical meanderings. “Cork’s answer to Roddy Doyle” – ‘Irish Times’ Admission - £4 at door Sponsored by Belfast Media Group

Is as Béal Feirste Thiar ó dhúchas í Geraldine Hughes ach atá anois ina cónaí agus ag obair i SAM. Ghlac sí an iliomad páirt ar stáitse agus ar an scáileán agus i 2006 thug Sylvester Stallone áit di mar confidante s’aige, 'Little' Marie, in ‘Rocky Balboa’.Tharraing seó meallacach dírbheathaisnéiseach aon-mhná, 'Belfast Blues', moladh criticeoirí uirthi in Los Angeles, Nua-Eabhrac, Londain, Chicago, agus a baile dúchas Béal Feirste. Falls Road Library Centenary
Ceiliúradh Céad Bliain Leabharlann na bhFál
The Falls Road Library opened its doors to the public on 2nd January 1908. From the outside this Carnegie Branch Library still looks the same as it did then, but inside it has undergone many changes, the most recent being a complete refurbishment in 2007. The original mosaic hallway now leads into an interior well equipped to deliver a 21st century library service. Throughout the 100 years the library has been a much loved landmark building on the Falls Road and has retained its noble elegance. It is as vital and important to the local area in 2008 as it was in 1908.There will be tours of the library on Saturday, 9th August, at 10.00am, 11.00am and 12.00 o’clock midday.
D'oscail Leabharlann na bhFál a doirse don phobal ar 2 Eanáir 1908. Ón taobh amuigh tá an chuma chéanna ar Leabharlann Bhrainse Carnegie agus a bhí, ach taobh istigh de is iomaí athrú a rinneadh, athchóiriú iomlán i 2007 an t-athrú is déanaí. Téann an dorchla mósáic isteach chuig an taobh istigh atá breá ábalta seirbhís 21ú haois a sholáthar. Le linn 100 bliain ba fhoirgneamh clúiteach é an leabharlann ar Bhóthar na bhFál agus choinnigh sé a chuannacht mhaorga. Tá sé chomh ríthábhachtach riachtanach céanna don cheantar áitiúil i 2008 agus a bhí sé i 1908. Beidh turais leabharlainne ann Dé Sathairn, 9 Lúnasa, ar 10.00am, 11.00am agus 12.00 meán lae.

‘A Man You Don’t Meet Everyday’ Ronan Bennett
‘A Man You Don’t Meet Everyday’ Ronan Bennett
St. Mary’s University College, Lecture Theatre 1 Saturday 9th August, 1pm-2.30pm Ronan Bennett is one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers: novelist, screenwriter and journalist he has won numerous awards. His fourth novel, ‘Havoc, in its Third Year’(2003), was long listed for the Man Booker prize and short listed for the Impac award. His work for Hollywood includes ‘Public Enemies’, currently being filmed by director Michael Mann (‘Heat’) and starring Johnny Depp. ‘10 Days to War’, his series of short films to mark the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, was screened on BBC2 in March to critical acclaim. His journalism and his creative work uniquely reflects and is certainly informed by his early politicisation - the result of growing up in Belfast in the 1960s, and his imprisonment in Long Kesh and Brixton Prison in the 1970s. He recently caused a storm of controversy when he accused British novelist Martin Amis of racism towards Muslims. He also co-writes a chess column for the ‘Guardian’ every Monday. Ronan will be discussing the way his work fuses the personal and the political, and how working in the mainstream he strives to keep a political perspective. His talk will be illustrated by excerpts from his films and books.
Coláiste Ollscoile Naomh Muire, Léachtlann 1 Dé Sathairn 9 Lúnasa 1pm - 2.30pm Is duine de na scríbhneoirí mór le rá é Ronan Bennett: úrscéalaí, scríbhneoir scáileáin agus iriseoir, is iomaí duais atá bainte aige. Bhí a cheathrú húrscéal ainmnithe ar an liosta fada do dhuais Man Booker agus ar an ghearrliosta don duais Impac. San áireamh ina chuid oibre faoi choinne Hollywood tá ‘Public Enemies’, scannán ar a bhfuil an stiúrthóir Michael Mann ('Heat') agus an réalta Johnny Depp ag aisteoireacht ann. Moladh go hard ‘10 Days to War’, a shraith de scannáin ghairide faoi chúigiú bliain d’ionradh ar an Iaráic a shonrú, a léirigh BBC2 i mí Mhárta a thuill moladh criticeoirí. Léiríonn a obair iriseoireachta agus a obair chruthaitheach a pholaitiú luath, agus téann seo i bhfeidhm go mór ar an obair - an toradh de thairbhe gur tógadh é i mBéal Feirste sna 1960í, agus a sheal príosúnachta sa Chéis Fhada agus in Brixton sna 1970í. Thosaigh sé ruaille buaille ar na mallaibh nuair a chuir sé i leith úrscéalaí Briotanach Martin Amis as bheith ciníoch maidir le Moslamaigh. Comhscríobhann sé colún fichille don ‘Guardian’ ar an Luan. Beidh Ronan ag plé an dóigh a nascann a cuid oibre an rud pearsanta agus an rud polaitiúil, agus an dóigh a ndéanann sé iarracht, ag obair sa phríomhsruth, peirspictíocht pholaitiúil a choinneáil. Beidh a chaint maisithe ag sleachta as a scannáin agus as a leabhair.

‘What About Me?’ By One Giant Leap 145mins Introduced by Darren Ferguson (from Beyond Skin) Tuesday 5th August, 12 noon Extraordinary documentary by James Catto and Duncan Bridgeman on the musical connection between the peoples of the world. Catto, a musician and film director, and Bridgeman, an artist and multi-instrumentalist, travelled to over 25 countries and amassed music, words and images to create an inspired revolutionary work which unites humanity in its cultural diversity. A great and profound film which features contributions from Michael Stipe (REM), Dennis Hopper, Noam Chomsky, the late Kurt Vonnegut; with soundtracks from Robbie Williams, Bada & Bakane Seck, Asha
‘A Sense of Loss’ 135mins In 1972 the BBC refused to show Marcel Ophuls’ poignant documentary about the Troubles on the grounds that the film generally sympathised with the civil rights movement. Whilst it is true that the film does side with the nationalist cause it also depicts the conflict through a series of interviews with protagonists and those on all sides who had lost loved ones.

‘Battle of Algiers’
121mins The ‘Battle of Algiers’, a 1966 black-and-white film by Gillo Pontecorvo, based on events during the 1954-1962 Algerian War of Independence against French rule, has been hailed for its stunning realism, especially in its scenes of Algerian city life and the largescale public protest and rioting. In its relatively even-handed portrayal it attempts to show the suffering and the cruelty on both the French and Algerian sides.
121 bomaite Moladh ‘The Battle of Algiers’, scannán dubh-agus-bán a rinne Gillo Pontecorvo i 1966, bunaithe ar imeachtaí le linn Cogadh Neamhspleáchais na hAilgéire 1954-1962 in aghaidh Riail na Fraince, moladh é as a réalachas fíorspéisiúil, go háirithe radharcanna ar shaol chathair na hAilgéire, agóidí agus círéib phoiblí ollmhór. Ina léiriú cothrom déanann sé iarracht an fhulaingt agus an chruálacht ar an taobh Francach agus Ailgéireach araon a thaispeáint.

‘Invisibles’ – Médecins Sans Frontiéres léiriú ag Javier Bardem [‘No Country For Old Men’]
97mins Short films presenting five forgotten stories all of which are currently happening but as the title emphasises they are ‘invisible’. They deal with the parasitic disease Chagas in Bolivia; sexual violence in the Democratic Republic Congo; the child soldiers in northern Uganda; the drug eflornithine needed to treat Sleeping Sickness in the Central African Republic; and how the rural people of Colombia deal with ever-present violence.
97 mbomaite Scannáin ghairide ag léiriú cúig scéal a chuaigh i leaba an dearmaid agus gach ceann acu ag tarlú faoi láthair ach mar a thugann an teideal chun suntais tá siad ‘dofheicthe’. Déileálann siad leis ghalar seadánach Chagas ar an Bholaiv; foréigean gnéasach i bPoblacht Dhaonlathach an Chongó; saighdiúirí linbh i dtuaisceart Uganda; an druga 'eflornithine' atá de dhíth chun cóireáil a chur ar Thinneas Codlata i bPoblacht na hAfraice Láir; agus an dóigh a ndéileálann muintir na Colóime leis an síorfhoréigean.
The Camden 28 How Far Would You Go To Stop A War? 83mins In 1968 the radical non-violent protest movement in the USA saw the arrest of Fr Daniel Berrigan, one of the founders of the interfaith coalition against the Vietnam War. Protests intensified and in 1972 twenty-eight non-violent activists planned to break into a local draft board office and destroy records. But in a sting operation they were rounded up by the FBI within hours under the personal authority of J.Edgar Hoover. This award-winning documentary by director Anthony Giacchino uncovers an astonishing story of political dissent.
The Camden 28 How Far Would You Go To Stop A War? 83 bomaite I 1968 thaithigh an ghluaiseacht neamh-fhoréigneach radacach agóideach i SAM gabháil an Athar Daniel Berrigan, duine de na bunaitheoirí comhcheangal idirchreidimh in aghaidh Chogadh Vítneam. Neartaíodh na hagóidí agus i 1972 rinne fiche a hocht gníomhaí neamh-fhoréigneach plean le briseadh isteach in oifig earcaíocht saighdiúirí agus na taifid a scrios. Ach in oibríocht fhealltach bhailigh an FBI iad taobh istigh de roinnt uaireanta faoi údarás pearsanta J.Edgar Hoover. Nochtann an clár faisnéise seo, a rinne stiúrthóir Anthony Giacchino, scéal iontach faoi easaontú polaitiúil.

Conway Mill Friday 8th August, 7pm Curtain Little John Nee invites us to leave behind the dubious comfort of another night parked in front of the television and to travel with him up into the wild hills for the grand re-opening of an isolated singing lounge, ‘The Mother’s Arms’. For a long time it has sat desolate among the scotch pines, quiet as a temple, the only sounds the snoring of an old dog dreaming on the floor and a bluebottle racing from the beer taps to the dart board and back. Many strange characters have stumbled this way over the years.Tonight they can return. Can Little John entertain them with his Cajun bhajan and ukulele ceilidh or will he get chased? Admission: £5. Tickets Available at all Féile Outlets.

Ionad Adhlactha na nGiúdach
City Cemetery, Meet at Gates Monday 4th August, 11.30am – 12.30pm For many years the old Jewish cemetery, dating from 1871 and located half-way up the City Cemetery close to the Whiterock Road, has been in a state of disrepair and has been vandalised.
