About me I’m Sarah Amory, an admin manager for my family business. I live with my husband, Gav, a builder, and our two children, Evie, 13, and Ronnie, 11. My room... MY PROBLEM LIVING ROOM It was just so beige. It had magnolia walls and a light brown carpet, and I knew both had to go. The room had no personality or focus, so it was very boring.

HOW I MADE IT WORK I created a dark and moody space by painting the floor and walls in rich colours. Then I added sumptuous furniture, a retro bar, touches of luxe gold and quirky artwork. MY FAVOURITE PART It’s got to be the bar. It’s a real statement piece and a focal point where friends can sit around and chat while we make cocktails.
