Benediction Oil™ Benediction Oil™ is intended to protect and nurture the interior light of the soul during times of challenge and transition. Benediction works especially in the heart — both physically and soulfully — helping to ease anxiety, anguish, and pain. This opening of the heart bestows peace and composure, strengthening the soul through challenging life passages. Most importantly, the soul learns to tap into the transcendent all-embracing force of love — both human and divine — as an anchor and beacon for navigating any challenging transition. Perhaps the most important of these passages is coping with life-threatening illness and the process of dying.

The foundation of Benediction Oil™ is the precious ruby-red oil of St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) in a base of certified organic olive oil. St. John’s Wort Oil was regarded by medieval mystics as the “blood of Christ” for its protective mantle of light. Certified organic essential oils of Rose Attar, Angelica and Jasmine instill higher awareness by opening the heart and soothing anxiety. Flower essences of Holly, Motherwort and Hawthorn strengthen and purify the heart; while Self-Heal essence helps the soul transform illness into wellness; and Angel’s Trumpet essence carries consciousness of the spiritual world.

Benediction Oil is especially beneficial applied directly to the heart.

Practical Directions Direct application: Benediction Oil is especially resonant with the heart. Gently massage a small amount of oil into the central area of the breastbone. Allow one or both palms of the hand to rest over the area, while offering a pSrayer or healing intention. Other significant areas for direct, prayerful application include the point between the center of the eyes, the pulse points of the wrist and the center point on top of the head, known as the Spirit Point. The Spirit Point and the Heart Point are the two most important areas to activate and nourish during the actual dying process. Massage: Benediction can be used as a full body massage or applied to particular areas where its healing qualities are needed. The extremities of the hands and the feet are particularly important

for bringing warmth and guiding the heart’s outflow of forces. Since the Benediction formula is very rich, it can also be extended further with a neutral massage oil for full body treatments. Effleurage and similar gentle methods of massage are most effective with Benediction. Other methods of subtle body healing such as Reiki and Therapeutic Touch are excellent when used in concert with Benediction Oil. Bath: A bath with Benediction Oil provides a womb-like feeling of comfort and security, especially during times of anxiety or restlessness. Add approximately an ounce of Benediction to warm bath water. Potentize the mixture by stirring clockwise and counterclockwise for about one minute. While in the bath, visualize being birthed from a sacred womb. Breathe slowly from the heart, and feel with each breath the contraction and expansion of the soul as it accepts

Compassionate Care Giver

Compassionate Care Giver

During many decades of the Flower Essence Society’s therapeutic outreach and research with our worldwide network of practitioners, we have been especially mindful of the enormous benefit of flower essences in helping those who are dying, but also for the circle of loved ones and professional caregivers who are challenged to deal with their own overwhelm and grief during this liminal time. We particularly recognize Jane Ellen for her pioneering research, networking and devotion to the use of flower essences for the dying process. Jane collaborated with many other practitioners, especially Dr. Kelly Warshel of Windber Hospice. These clinical observations led to the development of two foundational flower formulas: Compassionate Care Giver and Peace-Full Passage. Based upon reports from practitioners, each formula has been refined to address the fullest possible spectrum of core issues presented during the threshold-crossing process.
