TACOMA Located in Bremerton, the new residency program will house more primary care physicians than anywhere on the Peninsula.
Eight physicians will start the program this summer. Kitsap County averages just 60 primary care physicians per 100,000 population, less than the statewide average of 81.
Eight new physician residents will join the three-year program every year for a total of 24 residents practicing in the community within three years.
