Message from the Director We are happy to present our 2010 Yearbook which introduces our International MBA students who are pursuing their degree at FIA Business School. The FIA MBA follows rigorous international standards, and is accredited by AMBA — The Association of MBAs, based in London, England. It builds on a tradition of excellence created by our International Executive MBA since 1993, ranked number 25 in the Americas, and attended by most experienced student bodies in the world, according to the 2009 Financial Times Rankings. Our current International MBA students build on this experience, making up a diverse group, where 50% of the students come from other countries besides Brazil, including the USA, France, India, Turkey, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, Czech Republic Peru and Colombia. It is a dynamic, enterprising, hardworking and creative group, who answered to the challenge of studying in a far and nontraditional part of the world. This class is well experienced, with an average of 31 years of age and over 7 years work in a wide range of industries and countries. In this program they have exposure to the most modern management theories, with practical sessions presented by industry executives, and lectures by top faculty from FIA and our partner universities in the USA, Europe and Asia. We are confident that this program contributes to the development of managers who will move forward and employ their skills to make a significant contribution to the companies and organizations in which they will go on to work. This is an excellent group in which to find new and valuable talent for your organization, so please feel free to contact me or to get in touch directly with any of our prospective graduates in this class.

Additional Skills and Experience Computer/IT Skills Advanced office package Carrer Resume I am proud of my tricultural background. My Chinese heritage taught me discipline and patience, my American education which taught me ethics and the value of hard work, and my Brazilian upbringing which taught me creativity and personal inter-relationships. I have always worked in developing myself in areas to give added value, quality and innovation to the teams I have worked in. I have planned my career to have a broad vision of a company’s activities and its importance to reach the goals and established objectives. I started working at early age with two summer jobs at the Club Med Hotels as a member of the recreational team in the Kids Club. Next step was to work at the financial department at an intern in the Blue Tree Hotels and Resorts. As a MBA assistant I had opportunity to learn and gain a strategic business point of view and establish a solid network with top executives registered in the program. I also had an unique experience working in restructuring the FEA’s (Business School) social program called PESC. The project would unite students’ newly acquired knowledge with NGO that needed professional help. At TV Globo, biggest media conglomerate, I learned about brand image. It was important to understand how investment to have a strong brand has positive long-term results. Finally, at Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, as part of the international trainee program, I worked directly with the Vice-President for Government Affairs and Human Resources. I was highly exposed to strategic matters and constant contact with board members. Learned about the importance of government affairs and value of human resources. Had the opportunity to live in Beijing, China, for three months on a project about automotive development plans in developing Asian countries. The study was used to help understand in 26
a common basis different plans and have a wider view during new policies formulations. After the trainee program, I was invited to be the responsible for all the launch of the smart car in Brazil. It was not only a product launch but also a new concept of mobility not yet fully understood by the Brazilians. Results were overwhelming sales and brand admiration. Now, I coordinate product management of all imported vehicles. Three team members divide MercedesBenz products with my coordination and I still have full responsibility for smart. To conclude, I feel I have a good overview of business and continue to develop myself to bring the most value to the company. My focus is to win over the admiration of the client through understanding and innovation.
