“The Visionary”

Making a mark on the Industry and Inspiring others to do the same.

Troy Anthony was also inspired by the idea of giving new life to clothing from the past as sustainability is one of the pillars of his sartorial philosophy.

“I see myself on the

Troy Anthony

A Champion of Wearable Luxury

I first encountered Troy Anthony at DC Fashion Week, September of 2022. What struck me about his collection was that it was elegant, yes, but also highly wearable. Each look could easily transition from day to night. Still recovering from the Pandemic, many other designers presented street wear (akaathleisure) looks that frankly, in my opinion did not belong on a runway. The elevated aspect of Troy Anthony’s designs presented a welcome contrast!

A month or so later, Troy Anthony was kind enough to meet me for lunch and allow me to learn more about his background. Having grown up sewing, a skill he learned early on from his grandmother, he graduated from the Fashion Design Institute before garnering a prestigious internship at none other than Dolce & Gabbana! Launching his brand in New York City (he still maintains a boutique in

nearby Connecticut), he relocated to D.C. in 2022, shortly before we met. In addition to New York and D.C. Fashion Weeks, he has also shown in Paris on multiple occasions. One of the trademarks of Troy Anthony’s designs include wearability, a je ne sais quois combination of form and function. Anthony’s signature detail touches such as sewn-in pockets (sadly lacking in the wardrobes of most women) and expert tailoring make his garments a joy to wear. This is a designer who embraces the beauty of mature women, as well as a diversity of sizes and body types. His expert eye knows just what each person needs to feel stylish and look stunning. While he specializes in womenswear, his tailoring skills apply just as well to menswear, especially suiting. Use of color is another trademark of the Troy Anthony brand. Vibrant hues of orange, yellow, blue, and pink created a

rainbow on the runway at the premiere of the “Ageless” Collection that launched in Spring of 2023.

It is with great excitement that the fashion community awaits the launch of the next collection, inspired by the fun and flair of the Roaring Twenties! Titled the “Vintage Mod Collection,” Troy Anthony was inspired by Josephine Baker and the classic “flapper” dress, which is “classy, fun, flirty, and makes you want to dance.” The collection uses shades of Vino, few bold colors, classic black and white and geometric shapes to create a balance between the old and the new.

Troy Anthony was also inspired by the idea of giving new life to clothing from the past, as sustainability is one of the pillars of his sartorial philosophy. “I see myself on the cutting edge and leading by example in this sustainable fashion movement.”

Anticipate a launch event for the Vintage Mod Collection coming to the DMV in the fall, but in the meantime, you can book an appointment to get your own private sneak preview.

Hala

“A new beginning: Success against all Chakra

Meeting and discovering her was incredibly imaginative, this great woman selected for this edition in our “Successful People” section. Hala Chakra transforms a stage into a world of stories that need to be told, stories of strong, dreamy and professional women.

“I came to America 30 years ago seeking an education. Despite potential barriers, I found people who looked beyond differences. I was able to go to college, work, and ultimately achieve my goals. Along the way, I was blessed with two children, a boy and a girl, who have grown into very successful individuals. I have never forgotten those who helped me and the profound impact that they had in my life. The positive influences encouraged my success while the negative ones made me even more determined.”

MM4.- How do you balance your personal and professional life?

HC4.- I always approach this balance with intentionality and two main strategies: Prioritizing and time management.

MM5.- Do you think your success is more due to your talent or hard work?

HC.5.- I believe that success is a combination of both talent and hard work. Talent has given me strong foundation and the potential to excel in my field, but it is the hard work that has truly driven my achievements.

However, relying solely on talent can only take you so far. The real progress and breakthroughs have come from consistent effort, dedication, and a willingness to learn and improve. It means continually striving for excellence, seeking feedback, and being committed to personal and professional growth.

MM7.- Do you think beauty is important in today’s world?

HC.- Beauty holds a complex place in today’s society, influencing various aspects of life, from personal confidence to social standards. While physical beauty often garners immediate attention and can open doors in certain industries, it is the deeper, more enduring aspects of beauty that truly matter and makes a lasting impact.

MM8.- What advise would you give to our readers about health and beauty?

HC.-BY prioritizing and maintaining a very healthy balance diet and daily exercise will definitely help maintain a healthy lifestyle to increase your energy level for your day to day routine; a Skin care and self-care is very important as well, to help maintain healthy glowing and refreshing skin, especially when meeting with your clients; And last, we must embrace inner beauty to cultivate a positive attitude, to significantly impact how you feel about yourself and how others will perceive you.

Barry Morgenstein

MM 1.- How do you make a client feel comfortable in front of the camera?

BM 1.- I think I make clients comfortable in front of the camera by just being myself. I am very laid back, and we have a good time chatting. I play music on my famous Jukebox, which adds to the mood and atmosphere in the studio. I talk to the clients during the shoot and discuss what they need and their interests.

MM 2.-What makes your jukebox famous?

BM 2.- I have excellent taste in music. lol! And I take it on location. It looks like an old fashioned jukebox...people love it.

MM 3.- What do you think are the essential characteristics of a successful photographer?

BM 3.- Essential characteristics are, of course, having a good eye, and knowledge of lighting. Expensive equipment is not so important. As long as you have the eye and feel. My favorite quote from the actress Shelly Winters. “A good cameraman captures our face, a great one, our souls”

MM-4.- What equipment and tools are vital for you specifically to have, no matter where you are photographing?

BM-4 .- My equipment is not so important to getting what I achieve. But I do love my Canon cameras and trusty Dynalite lights that have been with me for over 30 years

MM-5.- What details do you enjoy focusing on in your work?

BM-5.- The details I focus on are making my clients happy, and giving them exactly what they need. When I show them the first few photos that I take, and see the look of excitement and happiness on their face, ...that is everything.

MM-6.- What professional photographers have influenced your work?

BM- 6.- I am heavily influenced by old Hollywood. I love George Hurrel photos. I also love great portrait photographers like Scavullo, Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts, etc.

MM-7.- What made you to get into photography? Specifically headshots over other types of photography?

BM-7.- I first got into photography through my love of music. I was not talented enough to become a musician, but I realized I had an eye of capturing musicians. I started my career as a rock and roll photographer. Then I tried my hand in fashion and beauty. I kinda fell into my speciality and niche when I realized headshots was my passion.

MM-8.-What musicians have you photographed?

BM-8.-I have photographs many celebrities, to mentioned few ~ Michael Jackson , BB king, Stevie Ray Vaugn, Aerosmith, Robert Plant, Sammy Davis Jr, Miles davis, Rolling Stones , U2...

MM8.- How long have you been doing this?

BM8.-I have been on my own since 1986.

Thank you Barry. It was a pleasure talking to you.

The Intersection of Car and Fashion Industry

+ Speed Meets Style

The allure of automobiles has long transcended mere transportation; it embodies a lifestyle, a statement of personality and prestige. Similarly, fashion serves as a means of self-expression, reflecting cultural shifts and individual tastes. The amalgamation of these realms offers a canvas for creativity, where sleek automotive design merges with the fluidity of fashion, yielding captivating collaborations and cross-industry inspirations.

+ Design Driven Dynamics

From luxury car brands partnering with high-end fashion houses to create limited-edition vehicles adorned with bespoke detailing, to automotive-inspired couture collections gracing the runways, the synergy between cars and fashion is undeniable. Designers draw inspiration from automotive aesthetics, integrating elements such as metallic finishes, streamlined silhouettes, and geometric patterns into their creations, blurring the lines between the runway and the racetrack.

+ Iconic Collaborations

Talking About CARS + FASHION

+ The Future Intersection

Iconic collaborations between automotive giants and fashion luminaries have redefined luxury and exclusivity. The likes of Aston Martin teaming up with renowned menswear designer Tom Ford, or Bentley partnering with luxury brand Breitling, showcase the fusion of craftsmanship, innovation, and heritage. These collaborations transcend mere product placement, embodying a shared ethos of sophistication and excellence.

+ Driving Sustainable Trends

As sustainability takes center stage in both industries, eco-conscious initiatives are driving innovation and reshaping consumer expectations. From the use of recycled materials in automotive interiors to sustainable fashion collections inspired by the ethos of electric mobility, the convergence of these industries is catalyzing positive change, paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Looking ahead, the intersection of the car and fashion industries promises to evolve further, fueled by technological advancements, shifting consumer preferences, and a shared commitment to innovation. As autonomous vehicles redefine mobility and smart textiles revolutionize fashion, the boundaries between these industries will continue to blur, creating new opportunities for collaboration and creative expression. In the fast-paced world of design and innovation, the synergy between the car and fashion industries serves as a testament to the transformative power of collaboration and the boundless potential of creative expression. As trends evolve and boundaries dissolve, one thing remains certain: the fusion of speed and style will continue to inspire, captivate, and drive the future of design.

All aboard the fashion express: your guide to Paris Fashion Week 2024

One of my favorite trips to Europe was always France because of its history, its gastronomy, and Paris is the world’s fashion capital. What is the participation of our magazine in this fashion week?

Migthy magazine will be continuously present in this great movement in this industry, collecting information from fashion designers, and the catwalks, showing tourism and gastronomy in this wonderful city. Since January 2020, the FHCM has managed the SPHERE – Paris Fashion Week® showroom, with the support of LE DEFI and L’Oréal Paris. SPHERE is part of their mission to support emerging designers. It brings together a group of brands invited to the Official Calendar or awarded in fashion, selected for their creativity and development potential.

Where to go in Paris for fashion week?

Like most of the Big Four fashion weeks, Paris shows are invite-only. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t tons of chic places to explore in the city during fashion week.

During Paris Fashion Week, this temporary pop-up space in the Tuileries Garden accommodates fashion shows, presentations, and other fashion-forward events. It’s a short walk from Carrousel du Louvre, the central hub for fashion week events.

While you’re in the area, consider visiting the Louvre, one of the world’s largest art museums. Enter via the glass pyramid, which is also the perfect place to capture your outfit of the day! The Louvre is also popular for fashion week shows, having hosted big brands, including the likes of Louis Vuitton.

Located in the Louvre, the enchanting Museum of Decorative Arts often hosts world-class fashion exhibitions, making it a must-visit during Paris Fashion Week.

The Marais neighborhood, which was formerly the city’s Jewish Quarter, is known today for its fashionable boutiques, art galleries, historic architecture, and gay bars. It’s a wonderful place to shop (or browse leisurely!) while soaking up Parisian style.
