t has been a year since Kris Aquino and Ai Ai Delas Alas had their falling out. Boy Abunda narrated how his two close friends, Kris Aquino and Ai Ai Delas Alas, reconciled just before the grand wedding of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera last December 30. Kris was among the principal sponsors while Ai Ai was also part of the entourage. Citing those who witnessed the reconciliation of the two stars, Abunda said it was Kris who first reached out to Ai Ai. The TV host initially approached the group of comedian Vic Sotto to greet child star Ryzza Mae Dizon. At that time, Ai Ai was standing near Dizon while talking to Batangas Governor Vilma Santos. Much to the comedienne’s surprise, Kris came up to her.
Kris and Ai Ai Reconcile at DongYan Wedding She also gave Ai Ai a necklace with three pendants depicting the Virgin Mary, to whom the comedienne has pledged devotion.
Attached to her present to Ai Ai, Kris said, was a card wherein she wrote: “Sana handa na ang puso mo na kaibiganin ako ulit.”
According to Abunda, Kris patched things up with Ai Ai following the advice of her sisters. Kris attended Dantes and Rivera’s wedding also with intentions of reconciling with Ai Ai. She said she made it a point to bring a gift for the comedienne -- a necklace with pendants depicting the Virgin Mary, wrapped with Ai Ai’s favorite color, apple green.
Kris handed Ai Ai the gift after the comedienne welcomed warmly her New Year greeting. “Magaan na we don’t have to avoid each other, na ang dami naming mutual friends na hindi malalgay sa alanganin,” Kris said. “I think it’s also a testament talaga kung nasaan kami ngayon sa mga parte ng buhay namin, kaya may maturity na. It’s an answered prayer!”
Kris related that during their stint in “Pilipinas Got Talent,” she and Ai Ai bonded over their shared faith. There were times, Kris recalled, when Ai Ai would bring a priest to celebrate mass on set. www.filipinostarmagazine.com
According to Kris, Ai Ai sent her a text message within the same day thanking her for the gift. She said she also thanked Ai Ai for communicating with her through text. 3

Jennylyn Mercado’s Second Chances night, he even kissed her. It was seen on TV that her also whispered something to her that made laugh. Anu bang sinabi ni Erap sa kanya? “Naku, wag na, nakakahiya. Basta sa akin na lang yun,” and she just keeps on laughing. Meanwhile, Laurice Guillen, the film director for “Second Chances” was asked why it took a long before she took another project with GMA 7. “Actually, November pa dapat ito nag-start but na-delay kami, which was good kasi nakapag-tape na kami for five weeks,” she says. “Marami na kaming nakaimbak na episodes. Habang wala pa akong dinidirek, nag-artista muna ako. I did ‘Carmela’ with Marian Rivera and I also directed a movie (‘Once a Princess’) sa Star Cinema.”

vid fans of Jennylyn Mercado are hoping her best actress win will help her new soap rate higher, “Second Chances”
“Hindi lang naman ako ang nagdadala nito kundi tulong kami nina Raymart Santiago, Camille Prats, Rafael Rosell and our director, Laurice Guillen,” she says. What is it like to work with Raymart? “Second time na namin ito after ‘Futbolilits’ at nakakatuwa siya kasi makulit sa taping, magulo, masayahin kahit noong may pinagdaraanan siyang personal problem. At tingnan mo naman ang hitsura, baby face pa rin, di ba? Inaalagaang mabuti ang katawan niya kaya batak pa rin.” She looks so desirable these days that even Erap Estrada, a certified ladies’ man, was attracted to her. When he handed to her the filmfest best actress trophy in the recent awards
She’s happy to direct “Second Chances” because she believes everyone deserves a second chance. “Story idea ito ni RJ Nuevas tungkol sa magkinakapatid, sina Jennylyn Mercado at Camille Prats, na parehong dumanas ng tragedy in life. Una, sabi nila, they want something na parang Koreanovela. Sabi ko, what do you mean? Yung konti lang daw ang characters. Pero in the course of our meetings and discussions, mas kumapal ang story. Hindi rin nasunod ang gusto nila kasi sa ating mga Pilipino, maraming family members ang involved, so dumami rin ang characters.” The director has nothing but good words to say to her cast members. “Si Jennylyn, I’ve worked with her in an episode of ‘Magpakailanman’. Si Raymart Santiago, I directed him in an episode of Claudine Barretto’s drama show then. All the rest, ngayon ko lang nakatrabaho. Si Roi Vinzon, who plays the ninong of Jen and father of Camille Prats, nakatrabaho ko pala sa ‘Carmela’, but artista kami. He was my husband. Lahat sila, natatakot sa akin. Ewan ko kung bakit, pati si Roi, who told me relaxed siya sa ‘Carmela’ but now na director na niya ko, he was scared daw. But in the course of our discussions and taping, na-realize naman nila there’s nothing to be scared of sa akin as long as you do your job well. And in all fairness to the cast, wala akong naging problema sa kanila at all. They’re aware na mabusisi ako pati sa make up nila, sa damit nila, but lahat sila, konting paliwanag lang, nakukuha na nila what they need to do and they now say they enjoy working with me.”

Liza Soberano Calls Enrique a Playboy
L
iza Soberano and Enrique Gil’s pairing had been proven successful in the soap opera “Forevermore”
However, Liza got her fans wondering about her special closeness with former Pinoy Big Brother alumni Yves Flores after mentioning him on her recent gratitude post on her Instagram account.
(and The Bet) who have been so patient with me and who I have learned a lot from @kaybash1326 @ theodoreboborol and Direk Richard! To our EP ms. Edlyn, to@yvesflores07 who has been with me in almost all of my projects last 2014 and also to my very special leading man who has been such a great friend to me @ enriquegil17 Cheers to the new year”
She wrote: “Before the year ends I just want to thank some of the very important people of my 2014!! To the directors of Forevermore
During her live appearance on the Sunday episode of The Buzz, Liza together with her leading man Enrique, explained her post.
“Yves, yes because he’s the type of friend naman that I can bully in a good way,” she said. Meanwhile she elaborated that she called Enrique her “special leading man” because “siya ang first and actual leading man ko.” She added, “And then great friend because he’s the type of person that I can tell anything to. Kahit tanungin niyo ‘yung Tita ko. In between takes, whenever I have a problem, I talk to him and he helps me through anything.” But Liza didn’t mince her words when she confessed that she initially thought that Enrique was a “playboy.” “Kasi he seems like one of the types of guys that play with girls,” she explained adding that she got scared about her impression of him. However, Liza was quick to add that she was able to

prove herself wrong when she got to know the 22-yearold better. “He’s a very family-oriented person. He does everything for his Mommy, sister and brother. And also he loves his Daddy very much even though he’s no longer here,” said Liza. Enrique confessed on air that he does have feelings for the 17-year-old actress. But she’s not allowed to have a boyfriend until she’s 25. Enrique assured that he would be a friend for her even after their primetime soap wraps up. “’Yun ang promise ko sa kanya kahit anong mangyari in the future best friend ko pa rin ito,” Enrique said as a message for the birthday girl. On her birthday, Enrique gave Liza a necklace with a letter “H” pendant. The letter represents the 17 year old’s real name, Hope.

8 Bridal Showers
M
arian Rivera had several Despedida de Soltera, mostly given by friends and endorsers. This marriage custom symbolizes a bride's farewell to the single life. In Spanish culture, it's simply a bachelorette party. But in the Philippines, the Despedida de Soltera, which literally means "goodbye to spinsterhood", is a family event where the groom's family and the couple's wedding party, close relatives and friends are all invited to take part. In an interview regarding the number of bridal she’s had, “Hindi ko po plinano 'yan. Ibinibigay po sa akin 'yan.” “Siguro laking pasasalamat ko lang na maraming nagbibigay sa akin ng bridal shower,” she added. The Belo Medical Group and the noontime show, Eat Bulaga each celebrated Marian’s goodbye party to being a single woman.
Vintage Car
M
arian was not driven to her wedding in a modern luxury limousine or a horse-drawn carriage. The Primetime Queen was in the backseat of a 1976 Mercedes-Benz. According to Dingdong, the car is the first car he learned to drive in. It was previously owned by his aunt, Luisa Henson. The midsize luxury sedan was passed on to three other owners before Dingdong purchased it several years ago for sentimental reasons. Dingdong meticulously had the car restored to serve its new purpose, to deliver his bride to the wedding venue. Motorists and commuters along E. Rodriguez and other streets near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City, were told to brace themselves for heavy traffic in the area. A re-routing scheme was prepared by the local officials to accommodate the couple’s entourage. Bleachers were set up outside the church for DongYan fans who can’t get in to witness the ceremony, which they can watch through a wide screen. The local barangay also deployed personnel to secure the area. 8

Andi Eigenmann Freak Accident on set of “Tragic Theater” spirit questors attempted to exorcise evil spirits at the supposedly haunted Manila Film Center in Pasay City back in 1999. Given that the story is based on a true-to-life tragedy and exorcism, Direk Tikoy admitted that he was really spooked by what happened to Andi.
L
ast October, the actress fell when her harness snapped while she was dangling fifteen feet off the ground. The accident occurred just when Andi was rehearsing an exorcism spell in Latin. “Yung nahulog kasi ako, the scene hasn’t begun yet. Magte-take pa lang. So, kumbaga inaangat pa lang nila ako. “Habang inaangat nila ako, inaalala ko kasi yung lines ko kasi its a different language. “So I was just throwing lines with Kuya John [Estrada] habang inaangat, as in umaangat pa lang. “So nag-line si Kuya John. Pagsagot ko, yung first line ko, dun ako nahulog,” said Andi, who plays a spirit communicator in the said horror flick. Andi refuses to speak out loud the exact Latin words that she said in that scene for fear that it might bring 18
her bad luck once more. When asked about the Tagalog translation of an excerpt from that exorcism spell, Andi replied, “Parang something like, ‘Ang kukulit ni’yo!’ Yun ang translation ng sinabi ko.” Director Tikoy Aguiluz, claimed that Andi’s freak accident still gives him the creeps every time he remembers it. “Yun ang most horrifying experience in my life. “Yung nangyari kay Andi talagang suwerte pa rin kami na she was not harmed. “Can you imagine? Kitangkita ko napatid, e. Until now nagpa-flashback sa akin,” Direk Tikoy said. Tragic Theater is based on the book of the same title written by Gilbert Colonel. The horror suspense movie also stars John Estrada and Christopher De Leon as members of the clergy. It depicts how a group of

Jimmy Fallon Could’ve Dated Nicole Kidman
I
n one of TV’s cutest revelation, Jimmy Fallon found out how he blew his chance to date Nicole Kidman years ago because she found him boring during a visit to his apartment which left her thinking he might be gay. The 40-year-old TV presenter was left shocked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, January 6, when the actress—who has daughters Sunday, six, and four-yearold Faith with husband Keith Urban— recalled a story of when she fancied him and managed to get an invite to his flat, but was ultimately left disappointed. While Jimmy—who also has two children with his wife Nancy Juvonen— was halfway through recounting his side of events, he admitted he couldn’t remember exactly where he was working at the time. Nicole then interjected by saying: “I just remember I liked you.” She then assured Jimmy “not now, I’m married now,” and returned to the story by adding: “Not in that way,” amid laughter and cheering from the studio audience. A stunned Jimmy then said: “Wait... what? Wait, what?” Nicole struggled to reply as she was laughing so much before saying: “So, Rick, our mutual friend said, ‘Jimmy wants to meet you, you can go over to his apartment.’
“I was single, so I’m like, ‘OK, yeah, cool.’” Jimmy said: “Wait. What? What are you talking about? Did I date Nicole Kidman? Did we go on a date?” She added: “So I go along and you’re there in a baseball cap and, like, nothing. “And you didn’t talk, you wouldn’t say anything. “You were like, ‘Hey, um, um, um.’ And I’m like, ‘OK, so...’ “And then you put a video game on or something, and I’m like ‘This is so bad.’” Jimmy then collapsed off his chair in hysterics, unable to believe he had blown his chance with Nicole, while she couldn’t stop laughing and turned to the audience and added: “It was bad!” She continued: “I swear after about an hour and a half, you didn’t talk at all, so I thought, ‘He has no interest, this is embarrassing.’ “I kinda left and went, ‘OK, no chemistry. Or maybe he’s gay?’” Jimmy said: “Oh my God, I had no clue. “I’m in shock right now. I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman. This is unbelievable.

“But, wow, did you make a good decision. You made a fantastic decision. “Keith Urban is so much cooler than I am.” And he couldn’t resist a final joke about the “very embarrassing” situation, adding: “But he’s always on tour... I’m not always on tour.” Earlier in the show, Jimmy started explaining his version of the story in which he revealed a mutual friend of the pair called Rick had phoned him up and told him to go and buy some cheese and crackers because he was bringing Nicole round to his apartment in 10 minutes. He added: “I’m like, ‘Cheese and crackers? I don’t have dinner parties, I have video games and sneekers.’ “He said to get brie and I didn’t even know what that was.”

Steady Laughter at Bill Cosby’s Show Despite Tension Outside Florida on November 21 there were no disruptions during the performance and the crowd laughed throughout. Bill Cosby says he had a “wonderful time” and received a standing ovation from Canadian fans at his first show following a string of cancellations after sexual assault allegations from more than 15 women. Protesters braved below-freezing weather to shame the ticket-holders and are likely to do so again at the second of three performances in Ontario on Thursday.
apartheid icon Nelson Mandela was projected onto a screen. The staging was simple: a chair with a T-shirt draped over the back with the caption, “Hello Friend.” A simple table with a bottle of water and a glass and a box of tissues was nearby, a waste bin tucked discreetly underneath, all set on a Persian-style carpet. Cosby strolled on stage wearing an oversize sweatshirt with the same “Hello Friend” logo, a pair of track pants and a pair of comfortable shoes he could easily slip in and out of. For the next hour and 45 minutes, Cosby spoke effortlessly in his trademark deliberate style, muffling an occasional cough.
“First of all, thank you,” 73 year old Bill Cosby said to the audience before starting his routine with some cold weather jokes.
Ticket holders had to negotiate a barrier of television cameras and a network of cables snaking along the slippery pavement and a small but determined band of protesters wielding signs with such slogans as Rape Is No Joke as they braved a wind-chill of –30 C. One woman, who refused to be named, shouted “shame on you” again and again at passing ticket holders.
Cosby’s show in Kitchener was his first show since November when the entertainer saw at least 10 performances get cancelled on his North American tour.
The small protest didn’t seem to deter many heading into the 2,000seat Kitchener venue though, with many saying they believed Cosby was innocent until proven guilty.
As the end of the set neared, Cosby returned to our weather. Are there laws that force Canadians to live here, he wondered disingenuously.
Like his last show in Melbourne,
On stage, an image of Cosby with anti-
“As soon as you’re allowed out, there are nicer places,” he jibed.
The laughter was steady and constant through what was nearly a sold-out show, though empty seats were not hard to spot. From time to time, people stepped outside, some of whom didn’t return.
Bella Thorne Sets Herself Apart at People’s Choice Awards Bella Thorne was on her way to red carpet glory when she spurned the ultra-glamorous gowns in favour of an androgynous two-piece suit at the People’s Choice Awards last January 7. The 17-year-old, who’s continuously earning her fashion stripes, looked sleek in the tailored all-black outfit, letting her flame-coloured locks offer a pop of colour. She was firmly separating herself from her child star status when she chose not to wear a top under her plunging jacket
that parted with satin lapels. Disney star Bella may not have been in the market for an award at the Nokia Theatre Los Angeles ceremony, but the actress certainly meant business as she continues to establish herself as a fashion-forward icon. Bella recently announced on Twitter that she’ll be joining the iconic Rockettes. She told her fans that she is set to voice Alice from Alice in Wonderland at Radio City Music Hall’s upcoming New York Spring Spectacular. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Dingdong and Marian’s Wedding Coordinator Sets Record Straight The amount of sponsorship / xdeal is not even 5% of the total wedding cost paid by the groom. Given that, one can say that yes indeed "they paid for their wedding". To answerone post above, Hennessy is not part of our mix. We didnt even serve that brand. Goldilocks is a brand being endorsed by Dingdong, so the wedding cake was really a gift from Goldilocks. There were suppliers that were taken out in certain areas days before the wedding. Suppliers that went on board atthe last minute were likewise paid in full. While we are thankful to those who were very generous with their products and services, i still feel it is unfair that the couple is being bashed this way for something so beautiful, and most importantly, something they worked so hard hard for. Dingdong had the purest intention of giving Marian the bestwedding she deserves.
A
midst the merrymaking of the nuptials of Dingdong and Marian, a rumor circulated in social media and internet saying the wedding was fully sponsored, and not a dime was spent by the couple.
The wedding coordinator of Dingdong and Marian finally broke her silence and attested to the fact that the rumor is not true. Teena Barretto said Dingdong paid for the wedding. In fact, he paid for almost everything!
To those with very strong opinion/s re the matter, you may start by posting your name beside your two cents. Its very hard to trust the words of brave people hiding behind the anonymous monicker. I am and will always be the mostreliable source of information about this wedding. Happy new year to all! Positivity comes with the truth. Sending positive vibes to everyone!
Yes, there were sponsors, said Barretto in her statement posted in the comments section of FashionPulis. But these sponsorship and x-deals were not even 5% of the actual cost of the event. Barretto did not mention pesos and cents in her statement but said the wedding was not cheap. To end all speculation and wrong assumptions, i will set the record straight. Dingdong paid for the wedding. And it was not a cheap wedding. While some sponsors were graciously accepted, most were politely declined. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Andi Doubts Jake’s Sincerity
Speaking with ABS-CBN News' Gretchen Fullido on Tuesday, the "Tragic Theater" star said Ejercito's behavior towards her is more important than his pronouncements in interviews.
"We used to be friends," she said of del Rosario. "I just don't let it bother me. To me, it's what he wants for himself. Palagi niya ngang sinasabi, ako naman daw ang nauna, eh. Kasi when we broke up, Bret was there."
I'm not really sure if I should believe that. I don't know," she said. "If he says that, well then I appreciate, but I don't really know. Because to me, mas importante 'yung pakikitungo niya sa akin, hindi 'yung pinapakita niya sa mga tao.
"But, see, even up to now we're not together, because it's not that easy. It was four years, and I can't just throw that away in an instant. It hurts. Kung masaya sila, I'm happy for him."
Ejercito earlier expressed confidence that he will reconcile with Eigenmann, saying he remains on good terms with her family. "Time heals everything. The rest of her family, I think we're good naman. With Andi, I'm sure, eventually. All we need is time," he said, adding that he hopes to have reconciled by Eigenmann by Valentine's Day. Reacting to Ejercito's statement, Eigenmann said, "Hiyang-hiya naman ako sa kanya! I hope that eventually we'll be okay, but I'm still hurting, and I don't think it will happen by February."

Asked if there is any possibility that she and Ejercito will get back together, Eigenmann answered: "I don't know. I really don't know because... Masakit talaga. Sobrang sakit talaga, so I'm not sure about that. Andi also clarified that while she appreciates the efforts of Jackson to woo her, she remains focused on her daughter, Adrianna Gabrielle, and her career. "I just got out of a serious relationship and I want to take things slower this time, I want to be more sure, kahit na ngayon na my priorities are really myself, my career and my daughter. Everything is for my daughter. Gusto ko muna ayusin 'yon." www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Bohol Even after the devastating earthquake Bohol experienced in 2013, the breathtaking sights still continue to astound. The most famous would be the Chocolate Hills in Carmen – more than 1,268 grasscovered limestone domes that are nearly symmetrical in shape and height. The picturesque hills turn a distinct shade of brown during the dry season and give them a passing resemblance to a certain confectionary treat, hence their name.
Nearby Pamilacan Island has made a name for itself with its move from destructive fishing practices to sustainable eco-tourism and marine preservation. Most people head here for dolphin-and-whale-watching tours, but the island also has accessible white sand beaches, excellent dive sites and even a centuries-old Spanish fort. Talk to your local Filipino travel agent to find the best deals.
Another popular tourist spot is the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary in Corella. Drop by the park for a rare chance to get up close to the Philippine tarsier in its natural habitat. At just three to six inches tall, this animal is one of the smallest primates in the world. With gaping eyes, miniscule proportions and a sensitive nature, the tarsier certainly has a quirky charm. The Baclayon Church is a well-preserved edifice that was declared a national historical treasure in 1995. Its antique décor and religious relics, some of which are on display in the church museum, date back to the 16th century. Baclayon’s main road is also home to over 65 SpanishFilipino ancestral homes – some of which were built as far back as 1853!

wrapper. Keep the wrapper nice and tight by using the sugar solution to close the wrapper. Use a non-stick pan for frying. Place the oil in the pan until umiinit, then pour in the sugar solution. Wait for about 4 -5 minutes in medium heat and once the oil and sugar solution mixture is reduced. Then put the wrapped saba in the pan. Haluin to make sure na coated ng sugar solution. Cook for about 5 minutes in low heat. Remember, steamed na ang saba so hindi na kailangan lutuin ng matagal. Serve and enjoy!
