‘Children’s Show,’ Richard Gomez win in Portugal T
wo Filipinos won at the 35th Oporto (Portugal) International Film Festival or Fantasporto last Saturday.
Roderick Cabrido’s “Children’s Show” won the Special Jury Award in the Orient Express section and Richard Gomez won best actor in the Directors’ Week competition for Michael Tuviera’s “The Janitor.” “Wow! This is beautiful news. God is good! It’s my first time to win in an international film fest,” Goma, as Gomez is known in local show biz, told the Inquirer upon learning of his victory. “It was an unexpected blessing. It serves as inspiration for aspiring indie filmmakers and producers like me … that we can compete alongside foreign films,” Cabrido said. The jury called Cabrido’s film “surprising.” Both films are products of last year’s Cinemalaya. Bayani San Diego Jr. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

philippine showbiz news Judy Ann Santos on brief tiff with Kris Aquino: Nothing wrong with what I did day, for being similarly critical of her brother. A few days later, Kris posted on Instagram a conversation with Juday, in which the actress supposedly said, “I didn’t make the comment with the intention of hurting someone. I just want to express what I think about what happened, which was really an eye-opener.”
M
ANILA, Philippines—Having made peace with President Benigno Aquino III’s sister Kris Aquino over a comment she posted on Instagram, actress Judy Ann “Juday” Santos said she would continue to participate in social media discussions about pressing national issues. In fact, she told reporters at a press conference for “Someone to Watch Over Me,” her new drama series on ABSCBN, “I’d do it again. There was nothing wrong with what I did. I don’t regret it.” Juday posted on her Instagram account part of a 2011 news clip about US President Barack Obama canceling earlier appointments so he could be present at the arrival of bodies of US troops killed in Afghanistan. She wrote the caption: “Just saying … Obama knows his priorities.” Netizens interpreted the post as a swipe on President Aquino, who was not present when the bodies of the SAF 44 arrived from Mamasapano, Maguindanao. Unfollowed Kris famously “unfollowed” some show biz friends on Instagram, including Ju4
In any case, Juday said she will be more careful with future online posts. “You all know that I am very outspoken,” she told the media. “[But] I would never post anything against a particular person. It’s always about a situation that I don’t like.” Unfair She added: “It’s unfair what some people say, that show biz personalities should not be involved in politics. We pay taxes, we vote … we have the right to speak up about the government and issues that affect the future of our children.” Since the incident, Juday said, she hasn’t run into Kris. “I’m praying that, when it happens, wala nang [problema]. I texted her a birthday greeting and she replied,” Juday said. “I was so relieved.” Juday also confirmed that she had a “little misunderstanding” with the network bosses. But she said they had patched things up. “It wasn’t a big deal, nothing we couldn’t fix. Everything’s OK now, we have projects lined up. It wasn’t an issue about work, but about relationships,” she said, but did not elaborate. In “Someone to Watch Over Me,” Juday plays an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

JULIA BARRETTO turned 18 I
“I want to believe that the pirpose of my debut is to bring everyone close to my heart together. “Yes, i came to him when he had a guesting for a show sa ABS CBN. I went to his dressing room. I listened to him to what he had to say. Marami kaming napag-usapan. I hugged him coz namiss ko sya ng sobra. I know we will have more time after this.” “Ininvite ko silang lahat, my lola, my titas, cousins. “It’s her birthday. It’s not about myself anymore. Actually, my mom (Marjorie) ang mas stressed at hands-on pa sa akin. Wala ‘yun. Masaya ako kay Liza na ka-batch ko. That’s how you would feel pag may magandang nangyayari lalo para sa halos kasabay mo. They are both part of my debut.” 5
Juli’s 18 candles include Dani Barretto, Claudia Barretto, Patita Tumpalan, Erich Gonzales, Alora Sasam, Natalia Ortega, Nicole Barretto, Cris Javarro, Marissa kalaw, Pokwang, RB Chanco,Lala Flores, Denise Heredia, Coy Barretto, Ella Panganiban, Liz Uy, Janella Salvador, Liza Soberano and Maja Salvador. Among her 18 roses include Dennis Padilla, Matteo Guidicelli, Rayver Cruz, Enchong Dee, Khalil Ramos, Robi Domingo, Sam Concepcion, Dominique Roque, Laon Barretto, Mark Barretto, John Barretto, Cholo Barretto, Jason Soong, Mark Soong, Miguel Barretto, John Sweet Lapus, Enrique Gil and Inigo Pascual. Styling will be by Liz Uy, and hair and make-up by John Valle and Lala Flores. “If there’s a symbol na makikita in my debut, it will be a horse. Powerful and it can be very elegant. Sophisticated and very energetic. It’s all naman depends sa perspective ng tao.” Not being a Barretto or Baldivia, it’s just Julia.

BSCBN and Star Creative’s romantic drama starred by Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano swoon and keep Pinoys ‘wanting more.’ Gil plays as ‘Xander’, a “rebellious”, “broken” and the only inheritor of a hotel tycoon and Soberano plays as ‘Agnes’, a “simple” and “humble” daughter of a strawberry farmer in Benguet. This modern ‘prince charming’ drama begun when Xander—who’s intoxicated, crashes over Agnes’ strawberry truck in his parachute. To teach him a lesson, his family made him work at the strawberry farm under Agnes’ family and the other farmers’ care. The shows’ rating from Kantar Media soared two weeks after it was first aired, “’Forevermore’ garnered a national TV rating of 30.25 on November 10, its highest since it debuted last October 27’”, said the producer in an interview with ABSCBN. Kantar Media attributed the increase to “strong viewership across urban and rural areas,” and is also a hit among The Filipino Channel (TFC) viewers.

Many were swept away by how ‘Xander’ treats ‘Agnes’ but in reality, the two most-sought-after-love team admits that they are just best friends. In a recent interview with Inquirer, the 22-year-old Gil revealed their status, “We’re best friends. I’ve already told her about my feelings, but we have to wait till she turns 18.” While Soberano, in an interview with
PEP.ph admitted that her first impression of the actor was “He’s a playboy”, adding “Kasi he seems to be the type of guy who knows how to play with girls.” But all that changed later on and shared that Gil is a “family-oriented guy.”
What’s next?
While you can still watch ‘Forevermore’ online via TFC.tv, the two www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla, on crisis?

Rumors that he ‘allegedly’ committed suicide circled around: on TV, print and mostly at the World Wide Web. Peaceful Responsible Owners of Guns (PROGUN) acting secretary general Atty. Ernesto Tabujara told in an interview with PhilSTAR that he thinks the younger Revilla’s gunshot wound froma .40-caliber Glock pistol was “self-inflicted”.
‘pag tinamaan ka sa chest, dapat ‘yung position mo medyo weird,” said Tabujara to PhilStar. Policemen have yet to test and investigate what really happened as the incident was not immediately called to their attention nor the gun used was surrendered right away.

Kapamilya stars, magiging katunog at kamukha ng sikat na music icons M arch 12, 2015 (QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES) – Watch your favorite celebrities like you’ve never seen them before in The Filipino Channel’s (TFC) newest variety show “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” where they will undergo a total transformation to take on a new identity as popular music icons and provide viewers with a concert-like entertainment experience.
International RnB star Billy Crawford will serve as host of the local version of the worldwide franchise, which premieres on March 14, Saturday (March 15, Sunday, Eastern time, Australian Daylight Savings Time or ADST, New Zealand Daylight Savings Time or NZDT, and Guam time) on TFC worldwide. “This show is different because I get to play around with the people who are actually performing, the judges, and myself,” he added. 8
In the program, eight celebrity performers will be tasked to impersonate different local or international music icons. They will have to face the ‘iconizer,’ which will reveal which music icon they will be assigned to impersonate the following week. But the biggest and most exciting aspect of the competition is that they have to exactly copy the moves, appearance, and even the voice of their assigned music icons, regardless of gender or age. They will then perform live with a band, to be judged by their co-performers and a jury composed of respected personalities in the industry which include: champion singer Jed Madela, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, and the Megastar Sharon Cuneta, who is making a comeback in the Kapamilya network. Each of them is expected to give out all the stops to exude believability and www.filipinostarmagazine.com
give superb performances, and will undergo acting, dance, and vocal training, plus a complete make-up transformation to closely match the look and moves of the assigned music icon. The performer who will receive the highest score for each week will be awarded a cash prize, half of which go to his or her chosen charity. Do not miss the premiere of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” beginning March 14 and 15, Saturday and Monday (March 15 and 16, Sunday and Monday Eastern time, ADST, NZDT, and Guam time). JANELLA SALVADOR, ka-abang-abang T
Gaya ng “Be Careful With My Heart” nina Jodi Sta.

“I can’t comment dun sa sinasabi nyo about Julia. Julia has her own show also at lahat kami sa ABS CBN ay nabibigyan ng chance to have a show. Maging masaya na lang po tayo. As for Julia, nagkaroon siya ng “Mirabella” , this time kami naman ni Liza and we’re very happy sa resulta ng mga show namin.”
“First of all, nagpapasalamat po kami sa lahat ng tumangkilik ng “Oh My G!”. We’re happy that they like the show and they supported us especially my friends ang Janella-Manolo fans and Janella-Marlo fans pati na po ang mga viewers ng aming program.” “We really did our best sa show and we are happy na
“Wala pong competition sa amin. We are all friends.

The girl can sing at may pinagmanahan naman kasi. “Yeah...aside from acting. gusto ko ring kumanta. Given the chance...gusto ko ring magkaroon ng sariling album... kung may pagkakataon.” “As of now, focus muna sa acting like sa “Oh My G!” sey pa ni Janella.

P
Sino kaya ang mas pipiliin niya kina Max at Empress in real life? “If you’re in a relationship, ipaglalaban mo ‘yun. Siya lang ‘yun. ‘Yung obsession kasi is like you’re stalking a person and it happened to me during my high school days.I considered it stalking kasi sinusundan ko talaga siya. Sobrang ganda nung girl,eh. Wala namang nangyari, hanggang dun lang kasi I was very young then.” kuwento ng aktor.
Isa si Geoff sa may pinakaguwapong mukha among our male actors. “Tingnan natin...matagal pa naman ‘yun..September or October pa. May time pa to prepare. It’s just a matter of focusing kung mas malalagpasan ko pa ang ginawa ko dun.” Ibig niyang sabihin, mas kaya pa niyang ibaba ang underwear niya at mas maging daring pa? “Yeah...i guess so. I can be ano naman... “ I mean lahat naman yata ng Eigenmann may pagka-exhibitionist So, I guess, kaya pa. Ha ha ha!.” tawang sabi ni Geoff. Kaya ba niyang gawin ang pelikula na mala-Fifty Shades of Grey? “I’m actually being compared to Christian Grey ( Jamie Dornan). Nakakata-
wa nga, eh. But I haven’t seen the movie yet. I haven’t read the book. But I’ve heard about the book. I’ve been told na, physically na pareho or kamukha ko nga raw Kulang lang sa height. Very familiar nga raw.” pakli pa ng aktor. Mukhang game nga sa pagpapa-sexy si Geoff at sinabi niya na given a sexy role kailangang paghandaan. “Preparations of course. Physically and emotionally. “That I can’t answer.

‘SIR CHIEF’ MAY BAGONG PAGBIBIDAHAN
M
AGSASAMA SA isang light drama teleserye sina Richard Yap at Judy Ann Santos, na ang working title ay Someone To Watch Over Me. “I know Juday as a very good actress,
masipag at very professional. I’m looking forward sa pagtatrabaho namin,” aniya.
Ako naman, nagpunta tapos after nu’n sinabihan akong kasama sa bagong show.
Be Careful With My Heart?
I miss her, especially ‘yung pagiging masayahin niya, down to earth, at sobrang maasikasong leading lady.” Just recently ay nanalo si Richard Yap bilang Best New Movie Actor sa 31st PMPC Star Awards for Movies. "I’m very happy for that award. But winning an award is like a bonus sa trabaho mo.

Ganun kami, eh. Basta trabaho, suportahan kami. Work yun, eh. Iba naman sa personal. Saka he’s very happy when I told him the story of “Bridges....”. “Hahaha! Ganda, ko, di ba? Hindi, im just lucky na kasama ko ulet si Echo and this time with Pau. Both are good actors so masarap silang katrabaho. I’m sure marami akong matutunan sa kanila.”

engine out. Harrison did what the best pilots in the world would do.” Onlooker Eddie Aguglia adds, “Looking at where he crashed and how the plane went down, I’m sure there was a moment where he said, ‘I’m not going to risk lives... it’s going to be just me’. He risked life and limb by putting it down on the golf course instead of trying to go further to try and get back to the airport. Another 25 to 30 yards and I don’t want to think about it. He saved several lives.” Ford suffered a broken pelvis and ankle in the accident and is recovering in a hospital.”

he 72-year-old actor had an accident last March 5 after he took an emergency landing at a golf course in Venice, Los Angeles. The actor’s publicist released an online and was posted by Hollywood.com. “The Indiana Jones star was forced to make an emergency landing on a golf course in California on Thursday (05Mar15), when the engine of a vintage aircraft he was piloting failed not long after leaving the runway. Witnesses to the drama have now spo-
ken out to praise the star for managing to avoid crashing into any buildings in the area. Film producer Ryan Kavanagh, who has a commercial pilot’s licence, says, “He literally had five seconds (to decide what to do) - 99 per cent of pilots would have turned around to go back to the runway. The plane would have stalled, gone nose first and crashed. He made the correct turn that the plane was designed for with an

His publicist, Ina Treciokas, later on released a statement on Ford’s status released by Holllywood.com. “Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which stalled upon take-off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely. He was banged up and is in the hospital receiving medical care. The injuries sustained are not life-threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery.”

alma Hayek loves to talk about her age in interviews because it serves as a constant reminder of how wrong one Hollywood casting agent was when he told the Mexican star she would no longer be working in her late 30s. The 48 year old has five films coming out in 2015 and she’s more than happy being a Latin role model for gorgeous women in their 40s. But she admits there is a lot of pressure on women who want to succeed in a man’s world. The Frida star tells Britain’s The Guardian, “It’s crazy, you have to be much better than your male colleagues, just so you can maybe try and get the same salary as them. And you still have to be a good wife, a mother. “And now you have to be skinny, and you have to look 20 when you’re 40. It’s too much. We need to stop with the crazy expectations, give ourselves a break.”

Cate Blanchett and husband adopt aughter L
OS ANGELES–Oscar-winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett and her husband have adopted a daughter, their fourth child, People magazine reported Friday. The 45-year-old and screenwriter husband Andrew Upton — who recently announced they are moving to the United States — adopted a girl named Edith, the celebrity bible said, quoting her publicist. The couple already have three sons: Ignatius, 6, Roman, 10, and Dashiell, 13. A publicist for the actress did not immediately respond to a request to confirm the adoption.
The actress is set to leave her Sydney home to move to America later this year, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald last month. Blanchett started out as a theater actress in Sydney, where she won critical and popular acclaim with a string of successes for the Sydney Theatre Company. She was also joint artistic director with Upton of the company from 2008 to 2012 and is patron of the Australian Film Institute. The couple previously spent nine years living in England. Upton said he wanted to return to writing while in the United States, according to the Herald. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

KIM, career muna bago lovelife
H
Wala raw kasing malisya kahit may kissing scene or bed scene silang dalawa.
“Masaya kami ni Xian as friends. Hayaan nyong i-enjoy muna namin ‘yun.
Pagdating sa work, it’s just work.
I know alam ni Lord kung sino ‘yun at alam niyang magiging masaya ako dun. For now, masayang ini-enjoy ko munang walang BF.. Ang masasabi ko lang, for now, si Xian ang pinaka-close na guy sa akin,” turan ni Kim.

ALEX GONZAGA, CAREER ANG PRIORITY N
o time for love ang drama ngayon ni Alex Gonzaga.
As I've said, kung may dumating , iga-grab ko 'yun kung talagang meant to be na maging bf ko. Pero kung hindi, hindi na talaga. Si Kean is just a friend at mas masaya kami na

March HOROSCOPE ASTROTWINS, ASTROLOGY FORECAST You want to communicate on the 1st, and it’s just what you should do. Call, write, get on the local radio station and broadcast. Tweet, post, write it on the wall. Now’s the time when you really want to make an effort to get whatever it is that is in your heart out into the world. It’s good for you! And it’s good for the world, too.
As you walk to work or cycle home from the gym or board the train or stroll to your corner cafe on the 1st, you could have an insight, or a vision, or an idea, or an inspiration. You should pay close attention to this! Take it very seriously, because it is important. You’re in a good place for taking new steps and starting new things, right now, and you should follow your instincts.
Ideals are there to be questioned on the 1st. So question them. If they don’t hold up to questioning, you might have to do just a little adjustment work. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with shifting your ideas about your ideals and your ideas about the world and the world of your ideas, and so forth, you know!
The 1st of the month is a great time for you to take an emotional risk. Do you want to ask them out? Do you want to apply for a new job? Do you want to explore learning a new skill? Or just go out of your comfort zone? Sure, that can be scary. But nothing ventured, nothing gained. And what’s the worst that could happen? Falling on your face just gives you a chance to see the world from a new angle, you know.
Whether it’s a picnic, a potluck, or an outing to the museum for ten of your best friends, get organized on the 1st. You’ll love dealing with all the details (avocado sandwiches or PBandJ?) that set the tone for these kinds of events. You’ll love the feeling of creating a truly special experience for all of the ones you love. Finally, you’ll enjoy the activity itself all the more, knowing an expert like yourself planned it.
You are in the mood for something new on the 1st. New attitudes, new approaches, new experiences, new challenges, new people, new you. Great! Get searching, and you’re sure to find exactly what you’re looking for, or maybe even something you never thought to look for, but which is even better than anything you could have imagined.
Okay, balancing a budget isn’t as exciting as, say, going deep sea diving for the first time after months and months of practicing in your neighborhood swimming pool. But even if budget balancing is boring, compared to seeing all those amazing, exotic fish swimming around in all their multi-colored glory, it’s still important and something you really need to do, with your full attention. So sit down on the 1st and balance that budget. You’ll be glad you did! And the feeling of calm and accomplishment you get feels good, too.
If a project that you thought would move quickly seems to be languishing on the 1st, don’t worry. Sometimes things just take longer than you think they will. Sometimes things that have been languishing suddenly take off, with all the complicated moving parts clicking into place. Either way, there’s not all that much you can do about it, sometimes, and now is one of those times. So do your best, then break for coffee, go to the lunchtime power stretching class, and get a good night’s sleep.
The February 3 Full Moon is all about being lucky in love. If you aren’t craving the perfect lover, you may be deep into some other personal passion. Make the most of this short but intense lucky streak. Around the February 18 New Moon, something started last month (or last year) might finally begin to pay for itself. It may be tiny, but you’ll know there’s life in it and it deserves to continue. Don’t sacrifice necessities on this, but don’t give up just yet. Mercury has been in Aquarius all month. End the month with things making more sense than ever.
Your month starts out pretty fantastically on the 1st. Yes, your already impressive energy doubles. Your intuition intensifies. Your emotions flow. Your romance thrives. You could even be in for a pretty terrific surprise at work! So be sure to get to your yoga class or the pool, so that you’re in good physical shape to really make the most of this time. After all, the more relaxed you are, the more deeply you can breathe, and the more deeply you’re breathing, the more present you are in the moment.
For you, the 1st is a really good day to get what you want. Your powers of persuasion are strong, and your sense of strategy can’t be beat. You know just how to ask for what you want, and just how to get it. Great! You can really accomplish a lot, right now. most want to accomplish in your work life.
Use the first week, especially around the February 3 Full Moon, to get organized and disciplined about your daily routine. Be healthy and habitual. There’s magic in these tiny rituals that will make this a strong period for you. The February 18 New Moon is powerful. Start something that’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime project or effort and watch it take you where you need to be.
