I

ontrary to speculations, Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria and re-elected Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla appear to be still going strong.

Jodi and Jolo were both beaming with happiness based on their souvenir photo, which was posted on the cat café’s Instagram account.

Jodi, for her part, clearly wanted to keep things low-key as she only posted Thirdy’s photo taken from the same event. Her post also included a snapshot of the café owners, one of whom happens to be Jolo’s half-brother Luigi Revilla. In February, there were speculations that Jodi and Jolo had called it quits. But PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) recently received a feed that the two have patched up their differences and gotten back together again. In an interview with PEP last May 26, Jodi laughed off questions pertaining to her love life. Her son Thirdy, on the other hand, said no to her entertaining any suitors. 4

Is New Coach In 'The Voice Kids' Ph, Replaces Sarah Geronimo

ega Star is the new 'The Voice Kids' PH 3rd season coach.

The news was confirmed after the megastar was interviewed by ABS-CBN last May 2. She replaced the Popstar princess Sarah Geronimo. This after Geronimo announced that she won't return to this season of 'The Voice Kids' to concentrate on other projects such as ASAP and her upcoming concerts. During a welcoming press conference last May 5, the Mega Star said: "I’m now more honored because

8

I’m going to be with Ms. Lea Salonga and of course, Bamboo. So I really feel blessed to be part of the show, to be one of [...] the coaches, and I’m very excited to see all the talents that are going to come out." Adding, "Wala po akong hindi pwede hindian dito sa The Voice Kids kasi kasama ko si Lea, si Bamboo and siguro the most talented children sa bansang ito. So wala pong dahilan na para tumanggi ako." When asked how she will be as a coach, Sharon said that she will be stricter, saying, "I have the tendency to be nurturing, adopt everybody – treat everyone like they were kids. And it’s not reciprocated, minsan naabuso. So natuto na ako."

MEANWHILE: Sarah Geronimo comments on new coach Sharon Cuneta; will she return in next season of The Voice?

“I watched the pilot episode. Ang saya,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and YES! Magazine in an interview last June 9, for her Myra-E endorsement.

As Posted on PEP.Ph

Although Sarah Geronimo has taken a break from her coaching stint in The Voice of the Philippines, she still watches ABS-CBN's reality talent search for aspiring singers.

She is glad to see Megastar Sharon Cuneta as one of the coaches of The Voice Kids. Sarah described with a smile, “Ang saya-saya, very refreshing na makita si Ms. Sharon Cuneta as one of the mentors. For her part, Sarah admitted that she misses being a mentor in The Voice. We then asked if she's going back to the show next season. Sarah replied, “Hopefully.” She also promised that for her comeback, “'Yan, paghahandaan natin kasi hindi siya biro talaga.”

James Reid reacts to Nadine Lustre being No. 1 in FHM 100 Sexiest poll As Posted on PEP.ph

I

t looks like James Reid doesn't want other guys getting any ideas about his girlfriend Nadine Lustre.

Nevertheless, James has the cutest reaction to Nadine landing the top spot in the partial and unofficial tally of FHM's 100 Sexiest Women for 2016. In his Twitter posts today, June 5, James shared a screenshot of FHM 100 Sexiest 2016's partial and unofficial Top 40 results with a caption that says, 'Hoy! (angry emoji) Who is responsible for this?' It was based on the online poll's results last June 3. James also jokingly accuses his fans of turning against him by voting for Nadine in FHM's annual poll for the hottest lady on the planet. But despite his 'angry' emoji, James is obviously one proud boyfriend, giving Nadine proper recognition whenever he has the chance to do so.

Regine Tolentino finally confirms separation from Lander Vera-Perez As Posted on PEP.ph “I believe everything happens for a reason, kahit gaano pa kasakit, unexpected ang lahat ng nangyari.” Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Regine sa RT Studios Ultimate Summer Workshop 2016 sa Robinson's Magnolia kamakailan. ‘NOTHING IS REALLY FOREVER.’ “My daughter is turning 18 next year. “So when I see my daughter now, ganun ako nun—so in love, married, and I can be a hopeless romantic. “Pero yun nga, someday, when timing is right and everything’s okay na.”

www.filipinostarmagazine.com

K

“Parang cut-off na, one year na. Tapos na yung mga first. “You go through all those stage and once you’ve accomplished that and get over with that phase, bagong buhay na, new everything.

Handa na kaya siyang ma-in love muli? Ayon kay Regine, “Eventually, when things are legal. “It’s okay when people accept it. Ayoko rin namang biglain ang tao. “And I have no time rin naman bilang busy ako sa dami kong ginagawa. “I’m just very blessed na tuluy-tuloy ang trabaho. “I’m in love with my work and my children, at ngayon, parang I’m in love with myself na rin. “Kailangan, e. Parang yun muna.”

“So, iba, iba in a good way.

Patuloy niya, “Okey na ako. Focus ako sa career.

“Parang after eighteen years, you need to grow rin.”

“I’m still in the process,” nakangiting sagot ni Regine. “And yun nga, na-prove namin na kaya pala. “When at first, kaming tatlo, lost na lost kami kung papaano kami kikilos, tatlong babae lang. “Hindi exposed sa lahat, we used to be very close-knit. “Parang ngayon, travelling, documents,

finances, managing our travels… “Di ba, ganun naman yun, as women, feeling helpless, you always need somebody to protect us, ganyanganyan. “We have each other and, of course, aside from my mom and dad, nakakaraos kami, okey na. “Naging okey lahat.” “I really realized that nothing is really forever!” natawang sagot ni Regine. “I just realized that as women, I think, we can be fixated with concept na ‘eto na yun. “But hindi, in a blink of an eye, things can change. “Ako pa naman, hindi ako sanay sa

change. Masaya na ako kung ano yung dati.

“And as a matter of fact, parang mas nag-excel kami in every aspects of life.”

“But then, I realized, okay, there is a bigger world out there and there’s so much you can do and accomplish and learn.

“Life is short, just go for it.” THERE’S LIFE AFTER SEPARATION. Kumusta naman siya ngayon? Ayon kay Regine, “Mas magaan lahat, meeting new people, going, travelling. “I enjoy being a mom so it’s really exciting. “Sometimes it’s hard. Hindi ko maiwasan na may mga times na nakakalungkot, especially when you see other families. “Pero okey naman, we have each other at sila [her children] pa yung mas matibay kesa sa akin.

Sabi ni Regine, “Yes, sila pa nga ang nagsasabi sa akin na, ‘Mama, don’t work anymore, go out with your friends.’ “I’ve felt that for the longest time, pero yun nga, sabi ko nga, siguro there’s a reason to be that way. “In my 18 years, I’ve been happy naman.

Aniya, “I’m continuing to work hard to help TV5 get bigger and better. “We still believe that we can make the network compete against the other bigger networks in the country. Sabi niya, “May existing contract pa ako. I’ve just signed with TV5 last year and I still have two more years with them. “So, walang puwedeng magoffer sa akin now.” NOT TRUE.

dapat siyang bagong show. Paliwanag niya, “They’re supposed to give me a show, na inumpisahan namin, pero nagkaproblema yata. “So, umisip sila ng bagong concept ng show for me na mauumpisahan sana namin.

“Well, tinatapos ko pa yung pagbasa ng script and then mag-uusap kami.” www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Channing Tatum Enrols in Harvard Business School Class

Is there anything Channing Tatum can't do? As if filming Kingsman: The Golden Circle and developing Magic Mike Live weren't enough, Harvard Business School announced via Facebook Thursday that Tatum has enrolled in one of its executive education courses. Throughout the month of June, the 36-year-old actor will join three other megastars— LL Cool J, Pau Gasol and Chris Paul—in professor Anita Elberse's class.

Tatum's involvement marked the university's "first ever 'live case.'" The actor—known for films like Step Up and Hail, Caesar!—coled a workshop about how dance movies impact Hollywood. "Participants shared ideas to help him innovate in the film industry," a Facebook caption read. Elberse also tweeted photos of her "four legends" in class, writing, "So yeah, this is happening." As LL Cool J tweeted, "You're never too cool to learn!"

Tatum's enrolment comes as somewhat of a surprise, as he's often described himself as a bad student. As a child, he struggled with A.D.H.D. and dyslexia, for which he was prescribed stimulants. "I have never considered myself a very smart person, for a lot of reasons," he confessed to The New York Times in October 2014. "Not having early success on that one path messes with you. You get lumped in classes with kids with autism and Down Syndrome, and you look around and say, 'OK, so this is where I'm at.' Or you get put in the typical classes and you say, 'All right, I'm obviously not like these kids either.' So you're kind of nowhere. You're just different. The system is broken. If we can streamline a multibillion-dollar company, we should be able to help kids who struggle the way I did." Tatum said he's always been more street smart than book smart. "I can look at a person and say, 'They've got something that I want up there in their head. I'm going to do my best to get in there and absorb it,'" he explained. "My mom said, 'Be a sponge.' And so I've learned more from people than I have from school or from books." As Posted on Eonline.com

M

uhammad Ali, deemed boxing's "greatest," has died.

The iconic fighter passed away on Friday after being hospitalized for respiratory issues, according to NBC News. Last June 4, Ali's family gathered by his hospital bedside in Phoenix as reports said the icon was in "grave condition." Ali, who was 74 years old, had been battling Parkinson's disease for nearly 30 years.

Muhammad Ali Dead at 74

Synonymous with the sport, Ali began his life far from the spotlight of the ring in January 1942 in segregated Louisville, Ky. as Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. Ali's parents, Cassius Sr. and Odessa, provided for Ali and his younger brother by working as a billboard painter and household domestic respectively. As the story goes, 12-year-old Ali was first inspired to take up the sport after his bicycle was stolen. After reporting the theft to a policeman, the preteen boasted about how he wanted to beat up the person responsible, but the policeman told him he needed to learn how to fight first. Just like that, the future "People's Champion" was set on his path to athletic stardom. He won his first amateur fight that same year, and went on to compete in the Olympic games six years later, winning the light heavyweight gold medal. Soon after, he launched his professional career and continued for years without any recorded losses. However, Ali quickly garnered a reputation for his abrasive behavior in the ring, mouthing off and insulting his opponents. The behavior followed up to his first legendary match against Sonny Liston, an intimidating reigning champion, for the World Heavyweight Championship of 1964. After reportedly slamming Liston with offensive remarks in the days prior to the fight, reporters doubted Ali would even arrive out of fear, but he did and walked away a 22-year-old champion with the title. "He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life," he famously said. While Ali went on to win multiple fights, including one against Ernie Terrell deemed "one of the ugliest boxing fights," Ali was stripped of his boxing license and was not

permitted to fight in 1967 after famously refusing to serve in the armed services as the Vietnam War was fully underway, claiming that fighting in a war was against the teachings of the Qu'ran. He had joined the Nation of Islam in 1964 and later converted to the religion.

forging on to shape a legacy filled with 56 wins, five losses, an induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, and a "Sportsman of the Century" honor by Sports Illustrated in 1999. In 2005, former president George W. Bushgranted him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Ali was arrested, found guilty and sentenced to five years of prison, a sentence that went unfulfilled as his case traveled to the Supreme Court, where his conviction was ultimately overturned in the 1971 case, Clay v. United States.

His personal life was equally full, having married four times and fathering nine children. His daughter, Laila Ali, is now an undefeated retired professional boxer, despite her father's early opposition to her entering the dangerous sport.

In the interim, the athlete became a vocal opponent of the war and traveled the United States addressing young adults, many who also did not agree with the political climate of America at the time and were invigorated by Ali's remarks. It was a notable moment in sports history as athletes had rarely made that kind of national impact outside of their chosen sport.

After more than 20 years in the ring, Ali fought his final match in 1981 and was diagnosed with Parkinson's syndrome three years after, later forming the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and donating to a handful of other charities.

In 1970, he resumed his boxing career,

Night Of Wonders Gala by Robbie Pangilinan

VANCOUVER - Filipinos living and working in Canada continue to have a blast as the 2016 Philippine Days Festival is held in Vancouver June 11. Part of the weeklong 118th Philippine Independence Day celebration was the Gala Night at the Westin Bayshore. The original diva, Asia’s Queen of Songs Ms. Pilita Corrales, entertained the more than 500 attendees dressed up to the nines. The Gala Night is a crown event that highlights the rich culture and tradition of the Filipino-Canadian community. The annual gettogether is always an event that excites the senses, and fulfills the Filipinos’ longing and nostalgia of the motherland. “This year, the organizers see a rebirth of patriotism timely with the rapid changes in the socio-political landscape in the Philippines,” says Joel Castillo, president of the United Filipino-Canadian Association in British Columbia (UFCABC), the conglomerate of over 20 Filipino community groups and associations in the province. “It was a classy evening with exquisite food by the Westin Bayshore, great company, and quality entertainment by Ms. Pilita Corrales with world renowned Rosario strings; husband and wife duo Kimwell and Grace del Rosario. Dance music energized everyone till midnight, was spinned by DJ Rommel,” says Janice Lozano, secretary of UFCABC , one of the main organizer of the event. As the Independence Day celebration coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, the very first Philippine foreign service establishment in the whole of Canada, Consul General Neil Ferrer, Deputy Consul Anthony Achilles Mandap, and Vice Consul Charmaine Guevara hosted the Gala Night.

Huwag kang matakot.

Huwag kang ma-insecure.

Marami kang makikita at matutuhan.
