Dennis Trillo admits he’s not a perfect dad Posted on PEP.PH
E
“That’s why I make it a point na kapag may mga activities siya sa school, nakakarating ako.
EVERYTHING FOR CALIX. “We’re not getting any younger.

philippine showbiz news Jackie Forster tired of waiting for sons Andre and Kobe: "It's time to let it go." Posted on PEP.PH
“But I feel like I’m doing what they’re asking of me, which is [giving them] space. "So, the last time they said that was two years [ago]."

Sagot dito ni Jackie, “Yes, because I know… based on what I know, from our common friends... "This is not even from the media, this is not even from outsiders, from the insiders, is that they think, they really think, that I just turned my back and abandoned them. “And gusto ko lang iklaro…” Sabat ni Boy, “Na iniwan mo sila?” Tanggi ni Jackie, “No, it’s not true.
Pahayag ni Jackie, “Well, we’re still not talking. "And the last time I spoke to them, or trying to speak to them, what they asked me was for space. Right? “A few years ago, nagkaroon ng controversy because they said something bad about me on TV out of nowhere, so I had to react, which is why I made a video for them. 4

he made you laugh. She made you cry. You feel her emotions, character as if you were here, specially in the movie "One More Chance". Who did not love "Basha" and "Popoy"? That's highly unlikely to happen. We were “there” with them, we felt their love, the hurt and it filled our hearts. Alonzo was last seen in the 2013 movie “She’s The One” with Dingdong Dantes, Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. And again, Bea Alonzo will "bring us there" as she stars alongside Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta in "The Love Affair". Bea Alonzo is Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom born on October 17, 1987 to a British father and a Filipino mother. Her parents got separated when Bea was just four years old and hadn't seen her father since then. In a 2010 interview with Boy Abunda, Alonzo shared, “Maaga akong tumanda, kailangan kong i-fast forward yung childhood ko kase hindi ako lumakisa normal family. I came from a broken family, di ako pwede mag-inarte na ‘I want this, I want that." Archie Ilagan was the one who discovered and molded Bea and immediately became part of ABSCBN's "Star Circle Batch 10" in the year 2000. Bea was first seen on the TV drama "Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay" in 2003 at the very young age of 15. She later appeared in soap operas like: It Might Be You, Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, Maging Sino Ka Man and Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik. In 2008, Bea released her debut album, "The Real Me" under Star Records. Following an announcement that she will be playing as "Betty La Fea" a Filipinized TV sitcom from Colombia. Because of her drama/acting prowess. Bea was able to bag home several
awards, that of: 2007: One More Chance as Basha Eugenio, #8 Highest-grossing Filipino film of all time; ASAP Pop Viewer's Choice Award for Pop Love Team (shared with John Lloyd Cruz); ASAP Pop Viewer's Choice Award for Pop Screen Kiss (shared with John Lloyd Cruz); GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Award for Box-Office Queen; Nominated—FAMAS Award for Best Actress; Nominated—FAP Award for Best Actress; Nominated— PMPC Star Award for Movies for Movie Actress of the Year; Gawad PASADO Award for Best Actress; 2010: Miss You Like Crazy as Mia Samonte, #10 Highest-grossing Filipino film of all time; 2010: Sa 'yo Lamang as Diane Alvero winning Gawad PASADO Award for Best Supporting Actress. LOVE and LIFE Bea Alonzo is presently in a relationship with Actor Zanjoe Marudo. In a July 28 interview with PhilStar, Bea shared that their relationship is "okay" although they are still "working out" some issues. This following Zanjoe Marudo's recent solo trip to Madrid Spain. But Bea told "TV Patrol", “Siyempre, who doesn’t want to stay in a beautiful relationship? So nando’n kami.” ANOTHER ‘One More Chance’??? Just because we loved “Basha and Popoy” too much, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo will again, star in a movie under the direction of Cathy GarciaMolina. “But let me just clarify na to this day na hindi pa rin, I think bahala na sila Direk Cathy magpaliwanag na, but I’m sure ang mga tao magtatanong na is this a part two, is this a sequel? Or this is going to be another story? Maski kami ni Bea, wala pa kaming alam. So hahayaan na namin ang Star Cinema na magsalita tungkol soon,” John Lloyd said told Rappler during “One More Chance” DVD release last July 31. AGAIN, Bea Alonzo will be starring alongside Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta in “The Love Affair”, directed by Nuel C. Naval, which will be shown in the Philippines this August. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Kris defended herself and said that it’s not all about the money. She told the basher, “You deserve a reply because you are so judgmental na wala sa lugar- if I didn't show up for work, did you think how many people in the production & the crew wouldn't get paid? Ang LAKAS ng loob mo to judge me when your account is on private- I was raised w/ the right work ethics & the courage to stand by my values- judge me again when you've gained some of that.” She later on posted a photo of their short conversation and said in the caption that she also thinks of the people working on her morning show Kris TV and movie Etiquette for Mistresseswho won’t get paid if she does not show up for work.

Bea Alonzo: Urban Asian Glam home in Quezon City Posted on PUSH.ABS-CBN.com
T
he three-story urban Asian glam home of Bea Alonzo was featured on YES! Celebrity Homes 2013.
As she lived so many years in a condo, Bea wanted to experience what it’s like to live in a bigger space. Bea has been very hands-on in the design process from the very first day. When she first met up with her interior designer, Jeizele delos Reyes-Go, the Kapamilya actress already knew what she wanted. Jeizele recalls: “We discussed her preferences, her spatial needs, and what she wants the house to evoke. She likes the coziness of some Asian resorts, the sophistication of hotels, and the ‘bling’ factor of certain finishing materials.”

KC Concepcion admits dating a European guy five years older than her Posted on PEP.PH maintained that she wants to shy away from being romantically linked with showbiz men. It will be recalled that KC had a secret relationship with Paulo for quite some time, until they suddenly called it quits last February. She also went steady with Piolo for a year, but they broke up in 2011. "Sabi ko, 'Oo, for me.' “Kasi I’ve dated na my leading men, I’ve done that whole thing na.
K
C Concepcion says she’d rather keep a tight lid on her blooming romance with a non-showbiz guy, since her much-publicized relationships didn’t bode well for her. “Yes, I am dating, quietly. KC, speaking to Kris Aquino and fellow
guest co-host Erich Gonzales, said that the only thing she’s willing to share for now is that the guy she’s dating is from Western Europe. Careful not to spill details, KC stated: “Ayokong maudlot… “He's European. He lives in the Middle East, pero paganun-gano’n [back and forth] siya.” Given her failed relationships with Piolo Pascual and Paulo Avelino, KC
“Tinutuluy-tuloy ko, after ng shoot, nagiging kami. “So, sabi ko, naexperience ko na yung dating leading men, so maganda yung [non-showbiz na lang],” the 30-year-old actress/ singer mused. GETTING TO KNOW YOU Asked about the status of her relationship with the unnamed European guy, KC maintained that they’re still in the getting-to-know-you stage. “I’m dating, but not exclusively. “Siyempre nadala na rin ako with all of my experiences sa mga leading men ko.

P
hilippine President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has officially endorsed Interior and Local Governmnet Secretary Mar Roxas as Liberal Party’s presidential bet for the 2016 elections during a gathering at the Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan on July 31. As for Mar’s wife, broadcaster Korina Sanchez, that that was “a big day” for them. In an entry at her official blog, markorinanews,blogspot.com, she described her husband as someone who is “ready for the challenge” and is “willing to serve hand and foot.” PNoy was also very confident with Sec. Mar saying, “Sino ba ang
Mar Roxas responded to this and said, “Ngayon, buong loob, buong paninindigan kong tinatanggap ang ‘Daang Matuwid’. Meanwhile, the broadcaster told FSM correspondent that she will be laying off the news scene but will retain her TV magazine shows to support and dedicate time in campaigning his husband. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Musicians Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale file for divorce
G
wen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale filed for divorce on Monday, seeking to end a nearly 13-year marriage between two members of rock music royalty. Stefani filed her petition citing irreconcilable difference and Rossdale filed a response shortly thereafter, court records show. The former couple cited irreconcilable differences for the breakup and said in a statement that they would work to raise their three sons together. Stefani, 45, is a judge on NBC’s “The Voice” and is the frontwoman for the band No Doubt, in addition to having a successful solo career. Rossdale, 49, is lead singer of the band Bush and has also worked “The Voice.” “While the two of us have come to the
mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” Stefani and Rossdale wrote in a joint statement. “To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.” The pair was married in September 2002 and had their first child together in 2006. Their youngest son is 17 months old. Stefani and Rossdale met in the mid1990s and never worked on a music project together until collaborating on “The Voice” last year. “It was just awkward,” she said at the time. “We’ve only collaborated on making babies.” Posted on MB.com.ph

Is Sarah Lahbati a Kapamilya? Posted on Push.Abs-cbn.com
Now an artist under Viva's management agency, Sarah had people asking is she now a Kapamilya after joining in a bombshell production number which involved other former GMA 7 stars Bela Padilla, Michelle Madrigal and Arci Munoz. The actress has been at odds with her mother network since she left and got pregnant with Richard Gutierrez' son Zion. She has kept mum about her appearance on ABS-CBN on her social media accounts and just posted a short video of her number. Sarah also thanked people because she reached a million followers on Instagram. www.filipinostarmagazine.com

Pabebe Girls and Yaya Dub, insta-celeb c/o social media
YAYA DUB "Yaya Dub"is actually Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza, a 20 year old "Dubsmash Queen", hailing also from Bulacan. Maine's career took off when Eat Bulaga! took her in after they saw her compilation of Dubsmash videos, impersonating in a rather "exaggerated way" -- the "Queen of All Media", Kris Aquino. She is now part of Eat Bulaga's "Kalye Serye" wherein she plays as "Yaya Dub" and Alden Richards as her love interest. But FYI, Maine Mendoza graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde and she did her on-the-job-training in a resort in New York City.
W
ho says you need to have an angelic face, a mala'porcelana'skin and a height that would instantaneously make you a supermodel to become popular? If you stereotyped being popular as that, now you are wronged, we have been wronged. As 'Yaya Dub' and the 'Pabebe Girls' are rising to fame. Who are they anyway? PABEBE GIRLS Two teenage girls from Bulacan, one is Janet and the other is Michelle or "popularly" known as the "Pabebe Girls". In their video which gone viral overnight, the pair: "babaeng walang kilay" and "babaeng utal" showed them introducing themselves, saying, "Kami ang pabebe girls at walang makakapigil sa amin."
So if ever you thought of becoming a "celebrity" overnight, you might want to consider what Janet and Michelle of "Pabebe Girls" and Maine Mendoza "Yaya Dub" did. Actresses like Alex Gonzaga, Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Lovi Poe and Alessandra de Rosi have made their own versions. And it did not take long for comedian and entertainer Vice Ganda to decide in recording a song "Huwag Kang Pabebe"under Star Records. He has invited the original "Pabebe Girls" in his music video. In the same interview with ABS-CBN, the two girls said they just smile whenever criticisms are being thrown at them, specially when they are being laughed at in school.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, the girls said that they weren't expecting their video to become such a hit. Since then, stars have been making their own "Pabebe Girl" video and embraced the "pabebe"attitude. 16

hannel 7’s Sunday noon shows used to be dominated by German Moreno with a bevy of female hosts – Sharon Cuneta, Jackie Lou Blanco, and Lani Mercado, among others. Those days are gone and much of 80s teeners, now Titos and Titas of Manila, recall Kuya Germs’ shows with fondness thanks to his favorite giveaway – a can of Birch Tree powdered milk.
Review: GMA 7’S ‘Sunday Pinasaya’ is not so happy By Andrew Bermudez as Posted on NewsCentral.PH
Decades later Regine Velasquez, Jaya, Janno Gibbs and Ogie Alcasid lorded the Kapuso network’s Sunday lunchtime slot, which took on several reformats until its eventual demise. Gibbs and Alcasid are now with Channel 5. Breaking away from the typical singand-dance variety show, Channel 7 introduced “Sunday PinaSaya” on August 9. The opening blurb said “Eto na ang babago sa noontime habit nyo!” (This will change your noontime habit.) Like Kuya Germs’ shows of yore, the new program has a truckload of hosts from the station’s cadre of talents – comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, Eat Bulaga’s Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, Pambansang Dimples Alden Richards, Barbie Forteza, Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose, Kapuso Teen Queen Barbie Forteza, sexy cover girl Valeen Montenegro, comedy actor Joey Paras and “Rak of Aegis” sensation Jerald Napoles. At the opening’s repartee, we lost count on the number of times the hosts mentioned the word ‘excited’. Hmm. It must be really exciting. The show then introduced its first comedy sketch “Bongga si Dai” where Paras is a maid with a British accent, and De Las Alas, a jeweler. The two discussed a wide range of topics – from orange juice, French words, to discounted items in Divisoria – and traded barbs.
pointless storyline. But no matter, the live audience was entertained. We hope so. The same could be said about Richard’s ‘Papa Chef’ segment. Channeling “Magic Mike” the handsome young star’s sexy dance number made adoring female and gay fans shriek on the top of their lungs. More than teasing the audience, however, there was nothing funny about his cooking segment with Napoles, who despite his star turn in the musical “Rak of Aegis” failed to attract new followers, given the segment’s very thin and shallow material. Rivera’s “Judge MD” segment also suffered the same fate. Nearly 10 minutes after the sketch, we asked ourselves, ‘What were the writers thinking?’
We expected to be tickled, waited for the punch lines, but more than 15 minutes later they announced a commercial break.
“Cynthia’s School of Overacting” starring Bayola as an acting coach and Montenegro, his sexy assistant, came in 105 minutes later into the show with no less than Maricel Soriano (acting student).
Sadly, Delas Alas and Paras, both credible comics, suffered from the sketch’s
There were a few stifled laughs but the comedy fizzled soon enough before it www.filipinostarmagazine.com
reached its ending. ‘Ano ang ano kanino?’ with the show’s major stars – Delas Alas, Rivera, Bayola, Manalo and Richards was the show’s last comedy sketch. Enter Dingdong Dantes, Rivera’s real-life partner, and the dramedy segued way into the ending, 240 minutes later. Will the show change our Sunday noontime habit? “Sunday PinaSaya” has all the elements of a winning show – excellent actors, star power, and the aim to revolutionize TV viewing with live comedy sketches, which is admirable. Sadly, though, the skits on its debut show did not possess the natural comedy of Eat Bulaga’s ‘AlDub’ series or the comic punch of “Bubble Gang”. We hope they’d do better in the next episodes. The producers have to keep in mind that they are not only competing with shows from other networks but also from a scrumptious lunch or a snooze during their sleepy time slot. I still believe there’s still room for improvement. 19

W
hen she and Vice Ganda created a buzz on social media after posting photos with the hashtag “#NoToSuicide,” Angeline Quinto admitted that it was actually a topic that they wanted to bring out into the open with the youth. The 25-year-old singer admitted the issue is also very close to her heart because she also had suicidal tendencies when she was younger. “Siguro, pero dati pa yun. Inaamin ko naman yun. As in bata pa ako, siguro mga 16 years old.
Angeline also clarified that she has never tried to attempt taking her own life even during her most problematic moments. Although she admitted having love problems can be challenging, Angeline said she knows better now. “Yungdepression sa pag-ibig mahirap yun eh. Minsan ayoko na lang palakihin. Minsan kasi kapag umabot sa punto na lagpas na sa utak ko yung mga nangyayari or iniisip, baka anu-ano pang magawa ko so gusto ko balanse lahat. Ang trabaho ko, ang love life ko, lahat, family,” she added. Now, the Platinum Karaoke celebrity endorser has learned to be more mature and handle things better.

ganitong mga bagay,” she explained. Over the issue of recently being pulled out of the teleserye Ang Probinsyano starring Coco Martin, Angeline said was not a reason for her to be depressed again. “Ay hindi po. Hindi naman. Kasi before pa kami gumawa ng movie nun talagang naging close kami kasi nung nag-appear nga siya sa first major concert ko, after nun doon nag-tuloy tuloy. Pero wala namang depression na nangyari,” she said. With her relationship status with singer Erik Santos still in the exclusively dating stage, Angeline said she sees no need to hurry it up. But that doesn’t mean she does not feel jealous when his name is linked to other girls, especially to his ex Rufa Mae Quinto. “Yung ka-apelyido ko? (laughs).

t’s Megan Young’s turn to play Marimar. We’ve followed the life of Marimar since Mexican star Thalia portrayed her over a decade ago. We were still at it when GMA-7 did a local adaptation of the series, tapping Marian Rivera to portray the poor young innocent girl who lives in a hut on the beach by the ocean. If you think Megan Young’s Marimar is a mere rehash of a well-loved character, think again. According to the former beauty queen, the new version will be quite different and fresh. “Iba talaga ‘yung story niya,” she stressed during a recent interview. This goes with how she will portray the sultry, fiery character. Megan shared that her Marimar will not show “too much skin.” “She won’t show parts of the body that shouldn’t be seen,” Megan explained. Apparently, Megan is concerned about young girls looking up to the character. “Kahit na sabihin mong may pagkaseductive si (Marimar), at the end of the day, children look up to her. Ako, when I have little girls come up to me, ayokong isipin nila na (bastusin) ako,” she explained. If anything, Megan assured her Marimar is still very much a fighter; one who never gives up easily despite the hardships she faces.

aral, makapunta ng Maynila at gusto niyang ma-i-angat ‘yung pamilya niya. And I’m sure that every Filipina and Filipino can relate na gusto nilang ma-iangat ang pamilya nila sa buhay, ‘di ba? Megan revealed feeling both excited and apprehensive about the teleserye, which will premiere Aug. 24. “Kasi parang maraming expectations agad, kahit ngayon pa lang,” she said. Megan will be joined by Tom Rodriguez in the series. The hunk will portray Sergio Santibañez, Marimar’s love interest. Asked how she feels about being paired with him, Megan shared, “Magkakilala na kami (since 2011), so parang hindi na kami strangers. Wala naman ng ilangan masyado.” The 25-year-old added, “Actually, I am excited working with him kasi I saw him sa ‘My Husband’s Lover,’ so alam ko na Tom is really a great actor. And naka-work ko naman na siya, so alam ko ‘yung work ethic niya.” OTHER ENDEAVORS Apart from the series, Megan is busy

Gusto ko, if ever, all my time and effort du’n lang. Para at least, mapaganda ko naman.” Megan is already involved in several outreach programs under “Beauty with a Purpose,” Miss World’s charity organization. She admitted, “It takes a lot of work, a lot of time so I know that doing it on my own would be much harder. It would take away from the commitments I already have.” “Maganda kung tutok ka. Kasi when you’re in a foundation, you’re helping out other people, and I wanna make sure that I’m doing it the right way. Kailangan ding pag-isipan ’yun. Hindi pwedeng basta lang gusto mo especially with things like that. You really have to work hard for it,” she added. Megan will also be hosting the GMA-7 reality show “Starstruck” soon. “They asked me already, so it’s just a matter of making sure na okay ang lahat ng schedule para ma-push through ’yun. Excited ako that I get to host a show again,” she said.
“Dito talagang maipapakita ang character nating mga Filipina na handang humarap sa kahit anong pagsubok,” she said. “The thing is, hindi naman pwede na all out na talagang love story lang siya. It’s a character that you can fall in love with and imagine yourself to be, kasi she’s the Filipina of today. Ganu’n ‘yung peg niya.” Tom Rodriguez and Megan Young She went on, “Ni-re-represent niya ’yung mga Pilipina.
You deserve it.

Happenings Around Town R RLG: A place where you can showcase your artwork in a commercial gallery.
obert Lynds Gallery recently paved the way for the "Third Annual Frontlines Competition: First Again" last August 6. This competition was conducted to open the doors for emerging artists who want to showcase their talent and establish themselves on several fronts. In return, gallery visitors and audiences can get a chance to gain insight into the "working process of artists", budding ones, who are in the "midst of launching their careers." The deadline for submission was done on July 15th, after which the chosen artists went through careful deliberation and interviews. Alexandra Bischoff, an artist who performs medleys of artistic pursuits, bagged the win and took home the prize. Bischoff in her Vimeo video, "SudsBucket" explained, "An obsessive compulsive desire to 'cleanse' one’s self: it spawns from the self perception of being dirty, which could be imposed upon the individual from subjects other than themselves ("you dirty, dirty girl"). Here, I wash my writhing hands in a rhythmic manner, until the entire bar of soap is just suds in a bucket."
Alexandra Bischoff performing her winning artistic piece “Suds-bucket”.
Adding, "For this version of the performance, I washed my hands for approximately 2 1/2 hours before the bar of soap became a sliver and broke in two." Robert Lynd, owner and curator of Robert Lynd Gallery (RLG) with Mrs. Z.
For Bischoff, "Intimacy and touch are my inspirations." And that "intimacy and touch", "invigorate and qualify each other." For her, "Touch is not merely physical but extends into the intimate spheres of looking, listening and lyricism. In order for either to contain positive potential, the executions of intimacy and touch require the most exquisite care."
