genorated by this development have no~ in any uay altered the h08tile attitUde of either faction towards my administration. ~hG Con~unist campair,n of agi~aticn, distortion and vilification continues, as does their verbal and flr.uncial support for these so~called :ndependence organizations and fronts which arc prepared to lond the~selves as stalking horses for communist inflltretion. Meanwhile ~hG grOYlth of confidence in the future, to Hhich I referred in my last report, bas steadily continued. In this connection I must pay tribute to the soundness and resilience of Triestine conmorcial and industrial circles and the ÂŁTee l~bour groupsJ and to the ready co-operation which I have received from tte Italian Government in supplying the financial needs of the Zone in accordance with the Peace Treaty. 20 June 1945, divided what were then the two zones of the occupied Italian territory of Venezia Giulia. The task of' the committee was to reach an agreed interpretatfon of the map of the J.1ol:'tJan Line annexed to the Agreement. The precise location of' the 'boundary has novr been agreed 'by bo·ch Military G\)veroments and it has been a,cc1.1rately and clearly marked on the ground.

Zone FTT should be admitted to membership.

the Council, subject to formal ratification, which, under the rulos of the Organization, could only talce place when ten other member stetes 115d l~atified
