The end of the year is approaching fast as a Superbike machine. We had finished another good season with such important events as Motocross of European Nations in Romania, Enduro European Championship back in Germany and Moto2 and European Talents Cup which due to horrible flood in the region of Valencia was moved to Estoril.
But the most important event of this year was the first edition of the Intercontinental Games. This breakthrough event prepared by the FIM was something special for all CONUs members. You can imagine how big hopes were put on our team as FIM Europe is the biggest Continental Union. After a very intensive weekend, our team made it!
And we had already started the 2025 season with the Super Enduro European Cup, together with World Championships, in the Polish city of Gliwice with an almost full crowd in the Arena.
At the end of November annual meeting of sporting commissions took place again in EUR Hilton La Lama this time starting with a new format of plenary session for all commission members. The final meeting of the Management Council took place one day after the commissions' meetings. During the day we had a chance to evaluate first proposals from sporting Commissions. We had also a chance to talk about activities during next year, first drafts of the calendar and last but not least about FIM Europe Congress in Malta.
In conclusion, I would like to thank everyone involved in our activities - the riders, organizers, federations, sponsors, promoters, commissions' members and chairman, secretariat employees and Management Council members for their great cooperation this year. And I wish you all a fantastic new season!

DALILA AGRATI
FIM Europe Press Officer
We are at the end of another thrilling season.
It has been an intense year, full of emotions, races, challenges and events. Every weekend riders, teams and FIM Europe officials were in action to give us shows of the utmost professionalism. Experiencing them all together makes us feel more and more part of a big and passionate family.
Every competition and event gave us emotions and epic battles ending with the best crowning. I had the occasion to live one of them.
This year FIM Europe faced and won the first-ever edition of the FIM Intercontinental Games: a brand-new
event that is taking place towards the conclusion of the FIM’s one-hundredand-twentieth anniversary year and brought together competitors from the six CONUs, Europe, hosting this gathering, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, Europe, Africa, and North America. The expectations were high and the fight was fierce. In the end team FIM Europe did it, in a masterpiece team teamwork. Once more, I want to say a big thank you to all who made this dream a reality.
A year is finishing and a new one will begin. We’ll always be here with the best commitment.
Read, be curious and ready for new adventures!
WORLD CHAMPIONS!
CHAMPIONS!
FIM Europe conquered the first-ever
It was a magical, intense, exciting first edition of the FIM Intercontinental Games (ICG).
For the first time in history the six CONUs - Europe, hosting this gathering, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, Europe, Africa, and North America - fought against each other for the gold title.
As a major part of celebrations to mark the FIM’s onehundred-and-twentieth anniversary year, this will be a biennial event that will expand to include other disciplines including Motocross and Enduro in the next edition. This year the challenge will be in Supersport and Supersport 300 classes, with Yamaha Europe, as Official Partner, providing R7 and R3 bikes.
Forty-eight riders from nineteen countries arrived in Jerez de la Frontera to compete and defend its continental union.
The Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto wrote a brand-new and historic page in motorcycling, as for the first time in on-road competition, riders didn’t compete for themselves, but for a team and in a team. And the first lines were signed by the FIM Europe team.
The FIM Europe, as the largest CONU by number of competitions, riders, and National Federations, was ready to go all out with a team of excellence. Eight young, professional and talented riders from all over Europe gave their all to grab the highest step of the podium.
first-ever FIM Intercontinental title!
It was a unique, unprecedented, heart-beating challenge from the first to the last lap, with the checkered flag of Supersport Race 2 that marked the end of a competition made of endless emotions.
The challenge began at 11 am with Supersport 300 Race 1. In pole position Spaniard Gonzalo Sanchez, followed by Tomas Alonso on the second row, Alessandro Di Persio on third, and Josephine Bruno on sixth. With twenty-four riders in action, the opening laps were close and at times chaotic as the sport’s brightest young talents fought for position, and after three laps and multiple changes of lead the top eighteen riders were all within two seconds of each other. With six laps to go, Sanchez slid off and out of the race, while Alonso finished with an incredible second position just behind favorite Mahendra from FIM Asia. Fifth position for Di Persio and eleventh for Bruno. Despite the zero of Sanchez, great teamwork let the FIM Europe team gain the second
provisional position in the CONUs standings.
The opening Supersport race was incredibly evenly matched at the front of the field with the lead constantly changing hands and no single rider or CONU able to seize control. Out at the first corner because of a contact with another rider, Valentin Folger was forced to withdraw. With the sixteen-lap race moving into the final stages, three laps to go the red flags came out to signal a premature end with Elia Bartolini third, Enzo De La Vega fourth and Roberta Ponziani eleventh. Even though another zero, an amazing team job helped FIM Europe to maintain the second position in the standings, 10 points behind FIM Asia.
FIM INTERCONTINENTAL GAMES
With two races still to go, everything was possible and the game was still not set.
Supersport Race 2 was crucial and fundamental. With every single point that could make a difference and the knowledge of fighting as a team and for the team, no mistakes were allowed. After the disappointment of crashing out of the first SSP300 race, Sanchez was determined to make amends and started well from the front of the grid fighting with Alonso and Di Persio against Santamaria (FIM Latin America), Mahendra and Santos (FIM Latin America). Thanks to the amazing teamwork with Sanchez second, Alonso fourth, Di Persio fifth, and Bruno ninth, FIM Europe gained 80 important points passing FIM Asia and taking the lead in the standings.
With an 18-point lead over FIM Asia, the final race of the day was breathtaking. Supersport riders were ready to turn on the fight for the title, but after just two laps in, rain began to fall and the race was red-flagged. Restarted over a reduced duration of ten laps, in the first part Asian riders seem to have found their ideal wet ground to fly towards the title, but an incredible Bartolini made his move with two to go, recovering from P10 to P1. The Italian captain secured to FIM Europe the win. The points gained thanks to the ninth position of De La Vega, the tenth of Folger, and the seventeen of Ponziani, made the dream come true: FIM Europe stroke gold and took the first-ever FIM Intercontinental Games title!
MICHAL SIKORA
FIM Europe President
“It was a fantastic and thrilling day. After two races FIM Asia was winning but with the third race, we took the lead. We knew it would not have been easy, but we were pretty confident: then it came the rain, moving the goalposts. Bartolini was absolutely incredible and thanks to perfect teamwork FIM Europe conquered the title. I’m very happy and proud of my riders and the whole team”.
MANUEL MARINHEIRO

This is what led the FIM Europe team to victory at the Intercontinental Games in Jerez. A team put together in a short time, without the possibility of team building but that magically found itself working in synergy and harmony. Thanks to the riders, the mechanics, the FIM Europe Delegate, the Chairman of the Road Racing Commission, the FIM Europe staff and the FIM staff who put us in a position to experience this memorable event”.
CRISTIAN FARINELLI

“The triumph at the FIM ICG is a fantastic success of the whole team. We've been able to create the proper atmosphere since the beginning combining professionality with harmony, the keys of our victory. It was not easy at all because competitors were really fast, but the analysis we made and the strategy we prepared paid off. This is an extremely important success for our CONU and I want to thank all mechanics, riders and the Management Council that trusted in me giving such a responsibility. I’m so happy and thankful to everyone”.

BMW Roma test ride
For the third consecutive year, on the occasion of the FIM Europe Commissions’ Meetings in Rome, BMW Motorrad Roma welcomed FIM Europe and several FIM and FMNs delegates for an exclusive test ride.
A meeting that celebrated both the passion for two wheels and the synergy between the entities.
The Tour, which spread over 150 km for the whole day, saw a fascinating passage to the historic center of Rome, approached and left through ancient consular roads such as Appia and Aurelia. A stop at the terrace of the Gianicolo offered participants a suggestive glimpse of the entire Eternal City. The inevitable stop for a fish lunch in Fiumicino was followed by the return to BMW Rome along the tree-lined Cristoforo Colombo, which connects the city to the sea.
Alessandro Sambuco
FIM Europe Secretary General
“Once more, we had the amazing opportunity to run this event together with BMW Rome. It’s a pleasure to collaborate and create opportunities with such a big brand. For us, involving stakeholders is important because this can lead to a greater understanding of their needs and expectations. I want to thank all the participants as well as BMW Rome’s staff”.

The Bagger Racing European Cup is born
The races dedicated to BAGGER motorcycles (Harley Davidson, Indian, etc) have always been viewed with curiosity by the European motorcycling world. Curiosity that will be satisfied from 2025, when the Bagger Racing European Cup will be at the starting line, born from the will of one of the icons of motorcycling of the 2000s: Ruben Xaus.
Ruben has inflamed the crowds of the unpredictable and volcanic SBK World Championship on the track as he is today off it. In 2024 he returned to the saddle in the States in this category, winning the Bagger Racing League title at the first attempt. His entrepreneurial instinct led him to sign an agreement to obtain the rights for Europe, which he will organize supported by the Andorran Federation, in the person of President Natalia Gallego, under the aegis of FIM Europe.
The Cup will be open to all brands that offer motorcycles that can be equipped with bags on the market, thus allowing manufacturers and customizers to compete on a terrain that has never before been the subject of competition in Europe. Here is the list of bikes admitted to the Cup:
Harley Davidson Street Glide
Harley Davidson Road Glide
Harley Davidson Road King
Harley Davidson Ultra
BMW R18
Honda Goldwing
Kawasaki VN Voyager
• Suzuki Intruder
• Yamaha Star Cruiser
• Moto Guzzi MGX 21
• Moto Guzzi California
• Triumph Rocket
• Ducati Diavel V2
• WYCHE Motorcycle
Great satisfaction for Ruben Xaus who has dedicated much of the last year to this project: “I found fertile ground for this project in FIM Europe, which immediately embraced it with enthusiasm. I am convinced that this championship can be an added value for the events in which it will be hosted, raising the level of entertainment and interest of the same. We are in the process of defining the calendar, which will be made official within a few days, but will include the main European countries. The regulation will also be simple and open to all. We want the riders registered for the championship to have fun and have fun”.
The cup includes two races for each round, divided between Saturday and Sunday, preceded by free practice and official sessions that will define the starting grid.
The coordination on the track, the organizational secretariat and marketing will be handled by the Italian company Sh Service which will support Gestions A L Instant sl in the organization. Registrations will open in conjunction with the MBE in Verona, an event that links the world of custom and track motorcycling.
ALESSANDRO SAMBUCO
FIM Europe Secretary General
“I am always very satisfied when we manage to add a new title to our sporting offering. Adding a new title is an indicator of health for our world and also indicates that there is confidence in what FIM Europe can offer. And what we offer is what differentiates us from the rest of the sporting world, the one that lives outside the international sporting system: we offer sporting rules, safety in sporting practice, insurance coverage and organizations that are up to every situation. The Baggers will offer a wide range of riders, from young to older, the opportunity to compete in a safe and dynamic environment that, thanks to the new Promoter, will also offer attractive entertainment to accompany the race”.
Victory of Ukrainian member of Touring Commission in prestigious American fulbright competition
Consistently implementing the strategy of popularizing motorcycling in the countries of Europe and the world, the FIM Europe Touring Commission receives to its work experts with valuable information and specific competencies in the field of business, management, economics, marketing and others.
Thus, in 2022, a delegate from the Federation Motorcycling of Ukraine (FMU), Doctor of Science, Professor Maksym Sitnicki, who in the period 2015–2022 had experience working in the Marketing, Promotion and Industry Commission (MPIC) of FIM Europe, and also in the period 2020–2022 was a member of the Public Affairs Commission (CAP) at the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, was elected to the new composition of the FIM Europe Touring Commission.
Also, Dr. Sitnicki’s academic background as Head of the Management of Innovation and Investment Activities Department of the main university of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, made it possible to systematically develop and implement methodological recommendations and experience of FIM Europe for the development of athletes with an innovative type of thinking and to popularize technical sports among the academic community of research universities in Ukraine and the world.
Starting from 2023, at the FIM level as a Member of the Commission for Mobility (CPM) at the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, Maksym has been involved in the development of new tourist routes in Ukraine for motor-
cyclists that arouse interest among European motorcyclists and representatives from other countries, and in the strategic perspective, after termination of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, will develop and bring significant economic revenue due to the multiplier effect of the development of transport and recreational infrastructure.
Professor Sitnicki's scientific research and practical activities are aimed at strategic management of the development of research universities in all spheres of human life, as the main centers of improvement: fundamental and applied research; development of multidisciplinary educational programs; development of management in sports organizations; comprehensive support of talented people with an innovative type of thinking in the EU and in the global environment.
Taking part in the global Fulbright scientific project competition, Maksym Sitnicki won and received a grant from this prestigious program of the US State Department to conduct his research and teach at West Virginia University (USA).
This decision was made by a commission of 12 educational and civic leaders appointed by the President of the United States to formulate policy for the program and make the final selection of nominees for the awards.
Fulbright scholars innovate and contribute to finding solutions to the problems facing countries around the world.
So, in the 2024-2025 academic year, Dr. Sitnicki will work on his research as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (USA). Valuable American experience and the scientific and educational results obtained are planned to be implemented at the level of post-war recovery of Ukraine and in the process of preparing projects and making decisions in the FIM Europe Touring Commission and the Commission for Mobility (CPM) at the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme.
The year 2024 brought another state award to Dr. Sitnicki and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, by his Decree No. 782/2024 dated November 22, 2024, awarded him the 2024 Prize of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists for his scientific work Management Innovations in Research Activities on the Principles of Creative Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Times of War and Post-War Recovery of Ukraine - https://www.president.gov.ua/documents/7822024-52869
Thus, the President of Ukraine recognized the results of the work of the Federation Motorcycling of Ukraine (FMU) aimed at forming a sustainable sports ecosystem in Ukraine based
on ensuring close cooperation between the business environment, universities and sports professionals. Especially in difficult times of war, this allows for a synergistic effect of mutual assistance and mutual support of various public institutions for the development of motorcycle sports.
All efforts of this scientist are aimed at making a component contribution to the implementation of the main mission of the FIM - to apply the highest standards for health, safety and the environment in its sporting and non-sporting activities.
Maksym Sitnicki thanks for the cooperation and support the President of FIM Europe Michał SIKORA, 2nd Deputy President Roy N. WETTERSTAD, Chairman Panagiotis (Panos) KALAITZIS and members of the TOURING commission, Secretary General Alessandro SAMBUCO and all workers to the secretariat, Chairman Jesper CHRISTENSEN and members of commission for Mobility (CPM) of the FIM, President of the FIM Jorge VIEGAS, President of the Federation Motorcycling of Ukraine Vadym KOPYLOV and all colleagues.
We can go as far as we can to make European motorcycling more high-tech and safe, better than world-class practices!

Round one of the SuperEnduro European Cup delivered excitement with the Hungarian Norbert Zsigovits’s dominance. Zsigovits (GasGas) was untouchable in both finals, but the fight for the remaining podium spots was fierce. Three days event on dry routes and hard gravel roads through the magnificent landscapes of Portugal
It is well known that the winding Portuguese tracks are not the favorite terrain of the Middle Eastern riders, who are more used to the open spaces of the desert. It was, therefore, no surprise that three Portuguese riders stor-

med into the podium places: David Megre (Kawasaki), Tiago Santos (AJP), and Rui Ferreira (Honda).
The Prologue took place in sunny conditions and Megre showed his intent from the outset with the fastest time on the 10km stage. The Portuguese, who had an impressive race in the first round in September, repeated that feat the following day to win the special from Santos and Ferreira.
Determined to continue where he had left off on Saturday, Megre won the second 114km special stage.
After three days of racing, Megre climbed onto the top step of the podium with Santos finishing second and Ferreira third. Winner also of the Baja TT Sharish, Megre re-confirmed the leadership of the standings and took his second consecutive 2024 European title.
Portugal’s domination also in the other two categories. Luis Fernandes won the Quad and Roberto Borrego the SSV.

SUPERFINALE
05th - 06th October
Matterley Basin, Great Britain
After an incredible race day in Round 6 at MotorLand Aragón, the series has its first Champion in the shape of 14-year-old Carlos Cano (SeventyTwo Artbox Racing Team), who with his sixth win of the last eight races claimed the European Talent Cup crown with one race to spare.
In the Moto2™ European Championship Race 1 Alberto Ferrandez (Finetwork Team) enjoyed a first-ever win in the class, while in the second race Roberto Garcia claimed another victory to maintain his title charge, doing so from P10 on the grid. In the first European Talent Cup race Giulio Pugliese (CFMoto Aspar Team) sealed all 25 points, whereas in the second it was Carlos Cano who got the job done to wrap up the title. The Stock™ European Championship delivered nothing but drama in the final race of the day, with Demis Mihaila (MDR Competición) coming out on top to stay in with a chance of glory in the final round in Valencia.
YZ65
A total of 40 aspiring young riders lined up on the start gate for the YZ65 race, a 12 minute plus two-lap duel across the tricky new layout at the track near Winchester in the U.K. Jann Huisman was quickest at the gate drop and he grabbed the holeshot, but Australia’s Bohannon was quick to get into the lead, feeling confident after topping timed practice. When Huisman dropped back after a save and Kade Nightingale suffered a fall there were no challengers for the Australian debutant. With seven minutes remaining in the race, he had already built up an impressive seven-second lead, and by the chequered flag he had an incredible 38 second gap. Austria’s Maurice Heidegger rode to a strong second place, while a tight battle broke out between Nightingale (USA) and Tommy Wood (GBR) for the final spot on the podium, this was eventually taken by the American. The top 14 places were filled by 14 different nationalities.
YZ85
The holeshot was taken by the USA’s Tayce Morgan. The SuperFinale first-timer seemed to have everything under control as he maintained the lead over the first lap, but as Davie Dürr gave chase Morgan took a rough landing over one of Matterley’s huge jumps and went down. The American remounted quickly and was ready to retaliate as Dürr attempted to break away. With five minutes left in the 15 minutes plus three lap race, Morgan was on the back tire of his rival, and with just a few minutes left on the clock he regained the lead of the race, leaving a disappointed Dürr to settle for second. Meanwhile, Kay Zijlstra (NED), Talon Medaglia (CAN) and Willads Gordon (DEN) all had their sights set on completing the podium, but it was the Dutch rider who proved strongest of the three.
YZ125
35 contenders were ready to show their skills in front of the huge Motocross of Nations crowd. Townley rocketed off the gate to lead into the first corners, a position he looked set to hold in the early part of the race. Meanwhile, Latvia’s Jekubs Kubulins – one of the main contenders at last year’s SuperFinale – was up into second. Keith quickly charged through, putting space between himself and the chasing Kubulins, Tyla Van de Poel (NED) and Ollie Bubb (GBR). Van de Poel would eventually drop back to 28th, leaving Emile De Baere (BEL) to move ahead of Bubb.
Talented Townley had managed to stretch the lead to over two and a half seconds, but Keith began closing with around seven minutes plus two laps left. Setting his sights on victory, the young Brit was roared on by the home crowd to overtake Townley with a brilliant move, and as the clock ticked down it looked as though he had the win wrapped up. However, a final thrilling fight back by the New Zealander made the last two laps incredibly tight between the pair. Keith held on for an emotional home victory while Townley and Kubulins completed the final podium of the 2024 SuperFinale.
Carlos Cano crowned ETC Champion

13th October
Aragon, Spain
Moto2
With Alberto Ferrandez, also in the top three in the first Moto2™ ECh race in Aragon were Eric Fernandez (Fau55 Tey Racing), who stepped onto the podium for the first time ever, with his previous best finish being P5, and Alberto Surra (Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro).
Following Roberto Garcia onto the podium in Moto2™ ECh Race 2 were Unai Orradre (STV Laglisse Racing) and Alberto Surra, who with a double podium in Aragon claimed a fifth rostrum finish of the 2024 campaign so far.
ETC
In the first ETC race at MotorLand Aragón, then-Championship rivals Marco Morelli (MLav Racing) and Carlos Cano found themselves in second and third respectively, with the Argentine rider just edging it, while Vietnamese rider Luca Agostinelli (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) finished in sixth as something of a surprise package, albeit a welcome one.
Race 2 in the ETC delivered a battle for the ages in the final laps, with David Gonzalez (AC Racing Team) finishing second for an incredible seventh podium of the year, while Marco Morelli was unable to keep the title fight alive in what has been a laudable campaign from the MLav Racing rider, eventually finishing third.
Stock
The drama built to fever pitch in Stock™ ECh as the race was delayed, and once we were underway Dino Iozzo (IUM Motorsports) soared to P1. However, he was unable to finish on the podium, a privilege enjoyed by Ruben Romero (FACE Racing) after his first-ever pole position and Adrian Rodriguez (SF Racing), who finished in second and third respectively.
While an incredible day of racing has come to a thrilling conclusion in Aragón, there’s still so much to be fought for in the final round of the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship, whether it’s pride or points, it’s up for grabs in Valencia on the 24th of November, with three Championships yet to be decided.
Thrilling season finale in Portugal officially crowned 2024 champions
The 2024 season of the Moto2 European Championship, ETC, and Stock comes to an end with the grand finale in Portugal at Circuito do Estoril.
If the ETC already had his new champion in the shape of Carlos Cano (SeventyTwo Artbox Racing Team), who took the title in the penultimate round at MotorLand Aragón, the Moto2™ European Championship, and Stock have come to an end with new race winners and Champions all in the same day. In the Moto2 victory was all for Unai Orradre (STV Laglisse Racing) but Roberto Garcia (Fantic Cardoso Racing) lifted the title trophy with fifth, while in the Stock Dino Iozzo (IUM Motorsports) won his first race of his career but the title, after a hard-fought battle, was won by Mario Mayor (GV Tamoil Racing).
The European Talent Cup was its usual unpredictable self but a first win went to Argentinean Valentin Perrone (Frando Racing VHC Team).
ETC
Moto2
In the Moto2™ European Championship, it was also the Championship-crowning day as Roberto Garcia (Fantic Cardoso Racing) needed just a top ten to secure the title. Going from fifth, he made a good launch but was soon pegged back and returned to his original starting position. Up front a big battle was brewing between long-time race leader Alberto Surra (Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro) and Unai Orradre (STV Laglisse Racing). Orradre, chasing a first win of the season, pounced in the second half of the race and Surra didn’t have an answer despite a late error from the race-leading #10. Mattia Casadei (Team Ciatti-Boscoscuro) was Garcia’s main title rival but could not get on terms with the race leaders. With the podium set in that order at the chequered flag, the title was given to Roberto Garcia, who rode a calm and solid race to take a first Championship crown. With four wins to his name and a total of six podiums, he’s a worthy title winner.
Moving onto the already-decided ETC title fight, Carlos Cano (Seventy Two ARTBOX Racing Team) was looking at becoming the first-ever ETC rider to secure seven wins in a season but he’d have to fight hard. In the early stages, the race was dominated by Giulio Pugliese (CFMOTO Aspar Junior Team) and Mallorcan star Fernando Bujosa (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) but he’d soon dropped downfield with a mechanical issue. At the pointy end of the race though, things heated up in the closing stages as Valentin Perrone, Pugliese, pole-sitter David Gonzalez (AC Racing Team), Beñat Fernandez (Frando Racing VHC Team), and Marco Morelli (MLav Racing) battled hard. On the run to the line, Perrone held on to become the fourth different winner of the season, whilst Pugliese secured third in the title race with P2 and Gonzalez salvaged third. Cano, already Champion, took P6 in the race whilst Morelli’s P5 was enough for second in the standings.
Stock
A belting Stock™ European Championship race got underway with a second pole of the season being converted into a holeshot for Dino Iozzo before a red flag came out for an incident involving Rodrigo Valente (PS Racing), Eric Molina (Fifty Motorsport) and Cristian D’Arliano (Pinamoto RS). The medical team was on-site immediately and all riders reported to be conscious before being transported away. On the restart, Iozzo once again got a bright start but fellow front-row starter Archie McDonald (MRE Talent) briefly led before the two swapped back by the end of the opening lap. A huge battle for the title was shaping up though as Mario Mayor (GV Tamoil Racing) and teammate Lorenzo Dalla Porta scrapped relentlessly for P3. In what was one of the best battles of the racing year, they both swapped places more than ten times and even rubbed wheels into Turn 6. In the end, Dalla Porta won the battle for P3 but it wasn’t enough to take the title from teammate and good friend Mayor. Iozzo won his last race in the class with a fairytale farewell, whilst McDonald came home P2. The #48 of Dalla Porta was on the rostrum but the big celebrations were for his Championship-winning teammate Mayor. Demis Mihaila (MDR Competicion) was in contention on track until a mechanical at Turn 12 ruled him out. Six different winners in the Stock™ European Championship’s second year, a fine way to conclude the 2024 season.
Italy’s Emanuele Pastore Takes Overall Victory
The penultimate round of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship at the Circuito do Estoril hosted the third edition of the R3 bLU cRU European SuperFinale where young riders from around the world will have their sights set on a seat in the 2025 FIM R3 bLU cRU World Cup.
The 25 entered riders were all aged between 14 and 18 years old and have been selected to compete in Portugal after impressing all season in their national R3 Cups and Challenges.
There were some familiar names on this year’s entry list such as Peru’s Aymon Bocanegra, who had a wildcard ride in the FIM R3 bLU cRU World Cup in Magny-Cours in September and impressed with a second-place finish. Spain’s Alberto Beltran and Italy’s Gianmaria Ibidi have also enjoyed wildcard entries this year in Barcelona and Misano respectively.
But it was Italy’s Emanuele Pastore who emerged as the overall winner, earning himself a fully supported place in next year’s FIM Yamaha R3 bLU cRU World Cup.
Race 1
A total of 25 riders lined up on the grid for the first race in the SuperFinale, all with the goal of putting themselves in contention for the overall event victory.
After Friday’s rain-affected sessions, the glorious sunshine and slick tyres were a welcome sight for the competitors. The 10-lap race provided some great action, with a breakaway group of eight swopping positions corner-by-corner.
There was plenty of impressive riding to be seen among the young hopefuls, but two of the podium contenders, Kakeru Okunuki (Japan) and Ivan Spada (Italy), saw their race end in a crash on Lap 5. Meanwhile, at the front, Ocete was enjoying a fantastic battle with Thije Ligtermoed (Netherlands), fellow countryman Raul Navarrete and hard-charging Italians Ibidi and Pastore.
The fight came down to the chequered flag with the three podium sitters, Ocete, Ibidi and Pastore, separated by just +0.402.
Race 2
Race 2 top eight were covered by less than one second and there was a leading group of 16 riders for much of the 10-lap race.
Xarly Mendez (Dominican Republic) converted his pole position into a holeshot, but he was quickly surrounded by the hard-charging field. Spanish duo Ruben Montero and Ocete were in the mix from the start, and they were soon joined by Gianmaria Ibidi (Italy), Aymon Bocanegra (Peru) and Ivan Spada (Italy). The latter was up into fifth place when he had to dive into the long lap penalty loop following a Race 1 incident, the youngster showed his promise by returning to ninth at the chequered flag.
Mattia Bosello was another rider to shine on Sunday, charging through to sixth place. After taking second place in Race 1, Ibidi was in contention for the overall event victory and the Italian worked hard, repeatedly putting himself at the front of the pack. However, a last lap mistake saw him drop to fifth (+0.223). After an impressive run on Saturday, Thije Ligtermoed was flying on Sunday and the Dutchman took second in the race by just +0.065.
Bocanegra was initially on for a podium finish in Race 2, but he was docked one place due to irresponsible riding. This promoted Mendez onto the final step of the podium. Pastore showed grit and determination to place his R3 a nose in front of the field at the chequered flag, and after finishing on the podium in Day 1, he had enough points to be declared the overall winner. Second overall was Ocete after he took seventh in Race 2. Third overall was Ligtermoed.

FINAL
20th October Lonigo, Italy
The Championship was close and competitive in the fight for the title, but in the end, the fireworks fizzled out and Team Poland this time handed over the crown to Team Denmark. In a thrilling season finale in Lonigo, Italy, Rasmus Jensen and Fredrik Jakobsen made the difference and took the European Pairs Speedway Championship’s title.
After a delay of three hours due to track remedial works following the heavy rain fell during the week before the meeting, spectators could enjoy a real challenge with a very interesting meeting, good overtake and several close races.
The Danish pair was on maximum points after four exits and seemed on course to a full maximum but dropped a couple of points to rampant Tom Brennan, Leon Flint and Dan Thompson from Great Britain. On the deciding heat against outgoing Polish champions, they collected the necessary points to claim the first step on the rostrum.
Polish Team, which lined up a very young pair -Mateusz Cierniak and Bartlomiej Kowalski- conquered an impressive second place ahead of the British pair on the run-off.
European standings
1. Denmark, 27 points (Rasmus Jensen 17, Fredrik Jakobsen 10)

ROUND
04th - 06th October
Mettet hosted a thrilling final event of the SM Junior European Championship. The Belgian city circuit welcomed the series after the penultimate round in Romania, where Andrea Benvenuti (KTM Mtr Racing) was the victim of a crash and gave the green light to his rivals to climb the standings.
Race 1
The first Junior race took place on Saturday. At the end of the time practice, Andrea Benvenuti (KTM Mtr Racing) came home with the pole position making people believe he would have been the protagonist of a solo race, however, the race saw the resolute victory of Nathan Terraneo (KTM). The Swiss rider’s race pace was impressive from the first moment and this allowed him to take a solid advantage and cross the finish line with a solid margin. Benvenuti, still not in top shape, tried to reach the leader but could not keep up with his rhythm. After a tough start, Yevsevii Kovalov had to work hard to recover and ended up third. At the end of the race, Terraneo moved to the top of the Championship standings 3 points ahead of Kovalov and 4 ahead of Benvenuti.
Race 2
The first lap of the second and final race of the season immediately had a thrilling turn of events when Nathan Terraneo (KTM) slipped on the tarmac and, while trying to
Mettet, Belgium
avoid him, Andrea Benvenuti (KTM Mtr Racing) crashed as well. Both riders started all over and tried to make up ground, but Benvenuti had to abandon the race after a couple of laps when the muffler broke. At that point Terraneo was the ruler of the Championship and managed the race well, finishing in third place. The battle for the victory of the race went on between Mark Luca Iovita (Husqvarna) and Daniele Cornolti. The two battled it out till the checkered flag with Iovita who eventually prevailed in front of the Italian with three-tenths of a second. Courtesy of the two excellent performances registered in the final race, Nathan Terraneo was crowned SM Junior European Champion, followed by Yevsevii Kovalov in second place and Andrea Benvenuti in third position.
