Mom was angry at Baby Mouse. “I don’t know what to do with you!” mom shouted. Baby Mouse was scared and cried, “You’re so mean, mom! I wish I h a d a d i ff e r e n t mommy.”
Mom said, “Do you really want a different mommy?” “Yes.” said Baby Mouse. Mom said, “Okay, then maybe you should go find yourself one!”
Baby Mouse headed out the door and turned to look at his mom, but she didn’t ask him to stay. With his little suitcase, he left his home. Baby Mouse was going to find a new mom.
The hedgehog mom hugged him. Oh no! That hurts! She is much too prickly to be my mom.
Soon Baby Mouse met a hedgehog mom. He said, “I’m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The hedgehog mom answered, “Alright, Baby Mouse! Let me give you a hug!”
Baby Mouse continued his search and met an elephant mom. He said, “I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The elephant mom answered, “No problem. I can put you on my back.”
The elephant mom lifted Baby Mouse up to her back, which made him very dizzy. Oh no. This is much too high. She is way too big to be my mom.
Baby mouse walked and walked until he came across a hippo mom. He said, “I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The hippo mom answered, “Okay, you can climb up and rest on my belly.” He tried again and again, but he simply couldn’t do it. Oh no. She is far too slippery to be my mom.
But she answered in such a loud voice, it made Baby Mouse tremble in fear. Oh no! This mom shouts even louder than my mom! She’s much too loud to be my mom.
Baby Mouse didn’t want to give up. He continued his journey until he met a bear mom. Baby Mouse said, “I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” “Okay!” the bear mom roared.
Baby mouse kept walking until he met a crocodile mom. He said, “I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The crocodile mom said, “No problem. You can climb into my mouth.”
Baby mouse was frightened and asked, “Why? Are you going to eat me?” The crocodile mom explained, “All my children grow in my mouth. That’s the way I look after my babies.” Oh no. That’s very scary. She’s too frightening to be my mom.
Baby Mouse continued on until he met a kangaroo mom. Baby Mouse said，“I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The kangaroo mom said, “Yes! You can sleep in my pocket.”
It was so dark and stuffy in the pocket. Each time the kangaroo mom jumped, Baby Mouse thought he might fall out! Oh no. This bouncy mom with a pocket just can’t be my mom.
Baby Mouse kept on walking. Finally he met a white rabbit mom. Baby Mouse said，“I‘m looking for a new mommy. Will you be my mom?” The white rabbit mom answered, “Yes! Let me take you in my arms.” It was warm and soft in the rabbit mom’s arms. And she seemed so kind. She could surely be my mom.
Baby Mouse smiled and said, “Mommy, I’m hungry. Will you please bring me some food?” The rabbit mom gave him carrots, but he thought they tasted terrible. He said, “I don’t want to eat carrots. Perhaps I just need to go and find my own mom.”
With Baby Mouse in her arms, the rabbit mom said, “You must be so tired after walking all day. Just sleep in my arms. Tomorrow you can go and look for your mom.” Baby Mouse couldn’t fall asleep. Rabbit mom sang a lullaby for him, “Baby Mouse, white fur, with two long ears, eating carrots and vegetables, he jumps, jumps, jumps …” Baby Mouse said, “No, you’re wrong! It should be ‘Baby Mouse likes eating lamp oil, climbs up and falls to the soil.’”
The rabbit mom said, “Are you hungry? You can have a drink of my milk.” Oh no. I only like my own mom’s milk. This soft mom is a good mom, but she isn’t the right mom for me.

Baby Mouse ran out of the house. He was running and running. All of a sudden, he fell into a puddle.
His mouse mom rushed out of the grass. Without thinking twice, she saved Baby Mouse. “Baby Mouse, your mommy is here!” Baby mouse hugged his mom and sobbed, “Mommy! Mommy! I will never look for another mom again!”
“I met many new mommies, but you are definitely the best mom for me!�
Baby mouse made his mom feel angry with him and mom scolded him loudly. Baby mouse said sadly: “I don't want you to be my mom anymore!�He asked hedgehog, hippo, grizzly Bear, crocodile, kangaroo and some other animals to be his mom. Did Baby mouse find someone to be his mom ?
