Just One Year (Novel)
Synopsis Is just one year enough to change completely? Yes, if you are 14. Eleonora starts feeling a fairy and does not go along with ordinary mortals anymore. Including Simone, her boyfriend. Her body changes, her feelings, friends and enemies change, too. The perspective from which Eleanora looks at the world also changes. She does no longer feel a little girl, and wants to become an adult in a hurry. But she runs too fast and someone does not forgive her for this. So she gets embroiled in a story by ambiguous contours and with friends who are not real friends. Can this youth, this desire for revolution and this need to throw everything into the garbage basket create her so many problems? Slowly she starts realizing that even if you change it does not mean that what was there before it’s all wrong. But how can you explain this to Simone? And how can you forgive yourself when you have been so arrogant? The change starts from there. From understanding herself.
Excerpt Only a year ago I was taking a deadly crush for Simone, but I was so shy that I had not the courage to tell him. I wonder if he ever understood it. I think he didn’t, because he considers me just a friend, the one next door, since we live in the same building. In short, the friend whom you can tell foolish things, the one whom you can easily confide everything because she won’t tell anybody. But to whom I could have told, really?
