Albuquerque Among Top Cities for 20-Somethings

A

lbuquerque is seeing a variety of national recognition for livability and great fall events lately. Now, we have made another list. According to Greatist.com, Albuquerque is among the Twenty Best Cities for 20-somethings. The website, which shares information on “health and fitness for the young, savvy and social,” has recognized Albuquerque as a great place to live when you’re starting out. The online story, http://greatist.com/health/best-cities-fortwenties/#, ranks our city highly because of our value proposition, clean city recognition and again, the Balloon Fiesta helps us make the list. Albuquerque’s high percentage of natural space within the city was a positive as well. Other cities on the list included Austin, Boston, Boulder, Burlington, VT, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Honolulu, Madison, WI, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle, Phoenix and Washington D.C. We then scoured the web for stats, polls, and surveys about metropolitan areas from Gallup, Sperling, and tourism bureaus. Once entered into one master spreadsheet, we pulled the top 30 cities then searched for unique attractions and facts about each to narrow down to our final 20. Our ranking took into account everything from health and wellness (gyms, walkability of streets, obesity statistics), to sustainability (air
