An exquisite four bedroom home tucked away just a short stroll from the heart of the historic and picturesque Cotswold town of Stow on the Wold.
This superb Cotswold stone home is perfectly placed and tucked away in a cu-de-sac, just a few steps from the centre of Stow on the Wold and all the magic it has to offer.
This property was built to an exacting standard by Spitfire Homes in 2017 and is still absolutely immaculate, with high quality appliances and underfloor heating, as well as some wonderful upgrades and the creation of a fantastic Orangery by the current owners. It is beautifully and tastefully finished throughout to create a neutral and light home, with generous and versatile accommodation to suit most families, with a fantastic kitchen/dining room and the Orangery overlooking the garden.
On the ground floor, there is a welcoming entrance hall with access to the sitting room, kitchen/ diner, office and cloakroom / utility. The kitchen / diner is fabulous and likely to be the heart of the home with space for the whole family to gather, cook, relax and eat, and with bi-fold doors leading to the garden and French doors to the Orangery, which can be a cosy space on its own or an extension to the kitchen/ diner, when you have lots of visitors. The separate sitting room is a generous yet cosier space with a wood burning stove and French doors leading to the Orangery.
On the first floor, there is a super primary bedroom with built in wardrobes and ensuite shower room with double shower, three further bedrooms, all with built in wardrobes, and a family bathroom.
Externally, the South-facing garden is an absolute delight, wrapping around the South and East side of the property with gated side access, generous patio and lawn area bordered by some wonderful planting and trees. Additionally, there is a double car barn with adjoining lockable workshop.
This truly is the perfect family home in the perfect Cotswold location – a beautifully presented home with countryside and amenities on your doorstep.
Stepping through the front door into the immaculate and generous entrance hall, you will glimpse the contemporary kitchen/diner to the rear of the property and the beautiful garden beyond. From the entrance hall, you can access all of the principal rooms as well as the office, cloakroom / utility and staircase (with generous under stairs cupboard). The 20’4 x 11’7 kitchen/diner is a superb and impressive space with high quality units and appliances, and plenty of space for preparing meals, gathering around the Island, entertaining at the dining table, or relaxing in the stunning Orangery, where you can be tucked away, but still feel part of the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. The kitchen and Orangery both have bi-fold doors out to the Southfacing garden. The sitting room is a cosy space with a lovely wood burning stove and can be an entirely separate and quiet corner of the house but French doors can open up in to the Orangery to bring all of the rooms together. Additionally, there is an office at the front of the house, and a cloakroom leading to a utility room.
When we moved here permanently just over five years ago we already knew Stow – we had owned a weekend cottage also in the town for the previous five years. We wanted to be able to walk to the shops for a coffee, or a loaf of bread, or just to admire the wonderful vernacular architecture for which the Cotswolds towns and villages are so famous. Plus there are some fabulous eateries as well as everyday amenities such as family butcher, cheese shop, deli, post office, patisserie to name just a few.
We also decided on a new build, with all the attractions of up-to-the-minute appliances, high energy efficiency and top of the range fixtures and fittings. It needed to be a home that we could just lock up and go away on holiday. But the bonus was the design of the development – we are in the courtyard, opposite a wonderful hornbeam tree with its green canopy under which we have held community events such as barbecues, street parties and afternoon get-togethers.
A further bonus is our garden, which is a good size wrapping around two sides of the house, plus a “knot garden” at the front. We have a gorgeous old flowering cherry in the corner, which in April is stunning; and we have added numerous fruit trees, which already are established enough to keep us well supplied with plums, raspberries and blackcurrants in the summer.
Shortly after moving in, we added the orangery, where we spend much of our spare time, since its lantern ceiling and bi-fold doors bring the outside indoors and give us a wonderful entertainment space, linking the kitchen with the lounge.
We will always treasure our memories of our time here and are sure that the new owners will create many of their own.”*

The quality continues throughout the whole of the upstairs, with all four bedrooms decorated tastefully and neutrally and the two bathrooms modern and immaculate. The primary suite is lovely with fitted wardrobes and with a generous ensuite shower room. There are two further double bedrooms and one single, all with built-in wardrobes, and a family bathroom with bath and shower.
The South facing garden is a true haven and a superb extension to the style of the house, beautifully designed with a wonderful seating area accessed from the kitchen and the orangery. The garden wraps around the South and East side of the house with a lawn area, a beautiful Cherry tree, as well as a variety of shrubs and trees offering colour and shelter throughout the year. The garden to the side has a shed by Kettler and gated access to a knot garden and the double car barn with adjoining lockable workshop at the front of the property.
Stow on the Wold is a picturesque and historic town in the heart of the Cotswolds, perfectly placed between Bourton on the Water and Moreton in Marsh. Stow on the Wold is a beautiful town and, being the highest town in the Cotswolds, the scenery on the many countryside walks around is uninterrupted and truly breath-taking.
As well as attracting visitors throughout the year, due to its historic Market Square, traditional shop fronts, beautiful scenery and some fantastic choices for eating out, Stow is also a wonderful place to live with a real heart to it and a sense of community.
Stow has the best of both worlds as it is the perfect blend of Cotswold countryside and charm, but it’s a real place to live, with a doctor’s surgery, vets, practical shops, primary school, and it’s in catchment for the Outstanding Cotswold School in Bourton on the Water. All of this within 5 miles of both Kingham and Moreton train stations, with their direct links to Paddington. There is a huge choice for eating out in Stow on the Wold, whether it be taking the children to the Sheep for pizza or having an exquisite meal at The Butchers, afternoon tea at Huffkins or Sunday lunch at The Bell, to name but a few.
This really is a prime Cotswold location, that lends itself to living full time or as a weekend retreat.
